The hotel is perfectly located at one corner of the central plaza of Veracruz (Zocalo), where throngs of people come to stroll, socialize, watch free and frequent stage performances, dance, drink, and dine-- often until very late in the evening. Because of the more-or-less continuous show in the Zocalo, it is almost impossible to be bored here. The facility is clean, the staff attentive and helpful, and the rooms are comfortable with good A/C. There are 4 or 5 banks with ATM's within a block or so, and an additional benefit is that the hotel is attached to the local Sanborn's department store and restaurant--an old but upscale and reliable standby in major Mexican cities where you can have a fine meal, buy a Cuban cigar or French cologne.

She's an old icon hotel on the zocalo. Well maintained but starting to show some wrinkles. Can't beat the location but Diligencias a better hotel (next door) staff are helpful but it's a busy place with catering events including loud wedding parties. Clean but she needs a facelift soon. Good value if for low rate prices.

Main elevators out of order, had to use the service elevator which was in need of service as well. Buttons didn't work etc. room was decent but AC didn't work the second day. Too hot to sleep. Staff was neither friendly or unfriendly. Room price is cheap and it's a good location with free valet, Sanborn's store and restaurant on the property. Could be a very nice hotel if they would spend a little money to update the elevators and AC. Decently clean.

Booked hotel because other hotel was under maintenance, turned out to be a better choice. Only drawback is there are no rooms in 1st or 2nd. floor.

It was nice to be close to several activities, mainly the Danzon show

I've stayed at this hotel 3 times already for the last 4 years. I really enjoy staying there, the location is perfect, you have access to live music, restaurants, el malecon which is closed to the water and stands where you can buy souvenirs. Staff is usually kind. The price was very affordable.

We stayed here for three days and the rooms were comfortable. It had a great view, it was close to cultural events and places.

This is a nice hotel, friendly staff; room was clean and comfortable. I love the bar and live music.

Great location if you want to be in the center of Veracruz, but don't think the center offers much. Restaurants mediocre in the hotel. Room could have used a comfortable chair. Price was good

This is the first time I stayed at Veracruz and this hotel definitely has a great location if you want to stay very close to the main plaza. It is not right in front of it which is an advantage because the plaza gets really noisy and busy at night, but you do not get all the noise. The room was very clean something that I like when I visit Mexico, my only disappointment was the air conditioning, it only had one temperature setting, so it was either hot or very cold, the thermostat was not working. I would definitively recommend the hotel. The free internet is a plus and they have a lot of restaurants around so choices are plenty. I did not have to use my rental car at all everything was at walking distance. I did not check their gym, but I did use their pool and it was pleasantly clean and quiet.

This is my 5th stay at this hotel. Perfect location for anything fun to do!! This hotel is historic so expect a few minor issues but nothing that can't be taken care of by the wonderful staff. The entire staff is extrememly accomodating and courteous.

The Hotel provided friendly service, comfortable beds, HD TV, complimentary water, safe in the room and laundry service. It is located in the center of downtown and walking distance from almost everything there is to do in Veracruz. It is a few blocks from the malecon and short walking distance from everything in downtown.

This is my 4th stay at this hotel and I am never disappointed! Rooms are great and the staff is so helpful! But the hotel does not exchange money so you need to change it at the airport!!! The hotel is in a prime location!

good hotel, nice clean. the restaurant does not take all American credit cards.

Great location. Near plaza and lots of shopping and restaurants within walking distance. Room was quiet despite all the activity outside. Wonderful experience for a great price!

Was a Great hotel in a Great location with very helpful people to make your stay enjoyable.

Comfortable hotel, nice location close to plaza.

This is a smaller hotel that is located in the heart of old Vera Cruz. It is older than those in the Boca Del Rio but with alot of charm. Located directly across the street from the Zocallo a gathering of locals and tourists, you are able to enjoy the food, drinks and different types of entertainment. Staff is limited in their English but are courteous and attentive always at your service. The hotel is very clean. However when booking be aware that a standard room rate is for a very small room. We were able to upgrade easily by checking on availability. If you are located at the front of the hotel the noise may be a factor if you are a light sleeper as things go on well into the night or city traffic so ask for rooms in back. Pool was clean and well maintained. In room coffee maker and also bottled water. They have a water filtration service for tap water and ice. Sanborns is located on site with indoor and great outdoor dining. The gift area houses a bakery, pharmacy, and good quality items comparable in price to others at the Plaza Las Americas. If you plan to read take your own unless you read Spanish.I ran out of good reading material. I would definitly stay there again. We had 12 great days. Great if your looking for other than high rise hotels. Taxis are not metered they are fixed by area great for the traveler. Buses are accessible easily and very inexpensive.

The hotel is very well placed, in center town. The rooms was very comfortable and spacious. The staff was friendly but they didn´t know the answer to some tourist questions

The hotel was in an ideal spot, only a two minute walk from the center of Veracruz. The hotel had a Samborns restaurant and across the street one could find El Porton which served excellent mexican food. The hotel was right in front of the town square and there were animated dances at night where anyone who wanted to practice danzon, the traditional dance, could go try it out or watch other couples dancing.
