Great location near the 3 sisters area of the Jamison Valley. Easy access to Scenic World. it has a nice pool and awesome dining room. We were in the area near the pool, a very quiet area, also near the billiard room. Pretty pricey and some annoying issues like minimal internet (unless you pay) and extra costs for an espresso coffee at the included breakfast. Aside form the nickel and dime approach, a great place.
We were stoked that there was no two night minimum. The service on arrival was spot on. Our room was clean. The bar area felt great but I'm not a fan of gas fireplace.... wood would be much nicer. Dinner at Darleys was fantastic. Breakfast was fine. The nearly perfect bit was a 2% visa surcharge. Stupid business plan.... add it to the room price and have people leave feeling happy.
Lovely location close to tourist spot of three sisters and two minutes drive to Katoomba. Five star service with large rooms, small gym with heated indoor pool. the limited parking was the only downside.
A really nice place, extremely clean, people very nice and helpful. Perfect location The restaurant even though we only went once was really really nice and the prices very reasonable What I love was that the room service had the night owl option that started from 10 PM to 6 AM so there's no way for you to stay hungry The indoor pool was really nice and heated And they also had a real size billiard table ! I would really go again stay there any time really nice experience
Accommodations and views. We rented a one bedroom suite with a valley view and arrived after sunset. The room was spacious and comfortable with a nice sitting area in front of a large window which we found in the morning provided spectacular views of the valley. Picturesque with fog scattered throughout the valley beneath the mountains. The location is a tad challenging as the entry sign is not brilliantly light and the curb is raised.
Lilianfels is sophisticated without being stuffy. Good, understated service, a lovely lounge area with 2 fireplaces. (Tho they could have chairs around the fires instead of sofas, this way more than 2 people could sit near the flames). The food in the casual dining area for dinner was just so-so. Not bad, but not great either. Just loved the indoor pool: on a misty winter morning it was great to do some laps before breakfast. Went for a 2 day getaway with a girlfriend, we shared a twin room which was perfect. Good size rooms, quiet, nice large bath towels (tho a bit scratchy). All in all a lovely place for a mid-week getaway in winter.
Whilst the weather left a lot to be desired (rainy and completely enveloped in cloud), this didn't detract from an absolutely delightful stay for two nights. The room was gorgeous and the whole resort was beautiful. I would happily return for another stay.
From arrival and being met by David to entry into our beautiful two room suite, the chocolate coated strawberries and the divine cocktails, everything was wonderful. A few months ago it seemed tired but now it is undergoing some slight renovations and revamps and it seems fresh and new. Very welcoming.
We stayed for just one night at Lilianfels on a short trip into the Blue Mountains from Sydney. The hotel was easy to find although we did go round the one way system once to find the way in! We arrived in a monsoon so fortunately were able to pull under the canopy outside reception to unload. The reception staff were friendly and efficient confirming our room was ready even though only late morning and took time to walk us round the hotel facilities. We had a delightful room with all the usual facilities (inc free wifi)and a view over the valley...which we couldn't see when we arrived because of the rain and fog! The following morning was, however, beautiful and clear. After arriving we took a short 2 minute drive into Katoomba to find a light lunch (many options) and then back to the hotel to make use of the lovely indoor pool. For dinner and breakfast we again went into Katoomba so cannot comment on the restaurant or catering. On site parking was problematic when we came back to the hotel late evening and we had to park on the road nearby. This is free overnight but there is a charge from 9am (I think). The reception staff gave us some good advice on local walks and advised us to get to Echo Point to see the Three Sisters and the view as soon as possible in the morning before the coaches arrived. It was a very short walk from the hotel and there was only a handful of people there at 8.30 am. Great advice! Before we left the reception staff provided us with a local map showing some other excellent viewpoints and a circular route back to Sydney. A really lovely stay in a perfect location.
Had the best high tea there with a friend last week. The sandwiches were delicious, the scones were light & fluffy and Sarah our server was as delightful as ever. Looking forward to taking one of my best friends there for her birthday next week.
