We didn't actually stay at this hotel but we did visit it to use the hairdressing facilities, while Sasha had her hair done I had a wander round and a drink at the bar, great staff from the Security guard who escorted us to reception, the hairdresser, reception staff and the barman were all extremely helpful especially considering we were staying at the rival hotel next door, none of them could have been more helpful. The hotel itself is very beautiful inside and out and the facilities downstairs with it's communal area, swimming pools, onsite shop, supermarket 10 mtrs away just beyond the security barrier, Tourist office inside, bar clothes shops and more your every need seems catered for. While I paid at reception for the hairdressing services a number of guests came just to put tips in the box on the counter so obviously the guests are happy. Well located just yards from the beautiful beach with many beach attractions such as parasailing, jet ski rental and more this seems a great choice for a place to stay away from the hustle n bustle of Sunny Beach but with everything you need on hand. I did check the prices online and they are on a par with the hotel we stayed at and the rooms I could see had lovely balconies with sea views.
nice hotel, family friendly (i mean if you go there without children, you might feel it to be a little bit too noisy), good food and very clean rooms. two recommendations:1-to train the staff a few basic words in english (for non-german or russian speaking guests), and 2-the beach area - the beds were too far from the sea and pushed literally into the bushes, not quit a pleasant experience, bringbthem closer to the sea
Dear travellers, REF: HDV Miramar Ultra All Inclusive, Obzor Bulgaria I love the HDV hotels brand, I really do, which is why I keep staying at these hotels chain wherever I travel in the whole wide world despite a series of unfortunate incidents over the last few years. This latest incident (July 2017) was the cherry on the cake. Ironically, by the end of the holiday I would have gladly paid another 500eur for the extra services following the relaxing journey of hell I was subjected to at the hands of HDV Miramar Hotel in Obzor. Look at the pictures the kind enough Bulgarian guests took the time to post, just look at them: I imagine the same questions are racing through the brilliant mind of the hotel manager as were racing through mine each every single day of my stay. What is this? Why have I been given it? What have I done to derserve this? And which one is the free service here, the umbrellas, the sunbeds, the mattresses, the fresh orange juice? You don’t get to a manager like-position with anything less than a generous sprinkling of observational power so I KNOW the responsible managers will have spotted -the staff pushing the sweets trolly with their cigaretts ashes falling into the water melon at 7am, -the bleeding injured leg of the kitchen staff (scratching it in front of the guests) -the bartender asking guests to pay for a fresh orange juice - the beach bartender refusing to make a cocktail because the guests will pour it into a plastic glass to be able to drink it on the sunbed they must pay for everyday (10eur per person) - the smelly beach ‘boat’ in heavy need of renovation and its pretentious young restaurant staff specifying that booking needs to be done 5 days in advance - the lack of manners, smile, help and knowledge in English language (easiest to learn by the way) your staff suffers from, and thus obviously your non bulgarian/german guests. YES, it is time Miramar finally makes this hotel an only german speaking one and downgrades to 3 star. Investing in staff training would not hurt either. The quiet is a plus though, but honestly no sane person would provide a free service asking for money, would they?
This hotel is very good for family with children. The place is with large open spaces, amazing beach and sea. Restaurants is type ultra all inclusive with a lot of foods and drinks. Loby bar is early open. Maybe they have to renovate the rooms. For this level of price and services I recomand this hotel
Goodies: Good food and beverages. The animation team is ok Minuses: The ground-floor and park-side rooms do not have good ventilation. Seashores near the sea were paid. Beds are tired. The area is isolated from other hotels.
I don't know about the previous years but now the beach before the hotel is not theirs and if you want to use the sunbeds they want you to pay for this. The sunbeds of the hotel are almost at the end of the sand, just before a big construction site. There was not a word about this on the site of the hotel when we made our reservation. The sunbeds around the pools are constantly reserved with towels, even when the people don't use them for hours. So we were forced to wake up every morning at 6:30 am if we wanted to find free sunbeds around the pool. Many of the umbrellas were broken. They made us pay our whole stay beforehand. After the first night, when we saw the problems with the beach and the sunbeds around the pool, we made a complain. They told us we can leave if we want but they wont return our money for the days we wont use the hotel. Plenty of food but not very tasty. Good internet. We paid so much for this hotel and we were very disappointed!
Booked a room with side see view. Asked better from from the staff 1 month earlier before arrival. They told that they will do their best upon the availability of the rooms. So we got the room in Block C (separate building) with a view of empty beach and new hotel being constructed in front of our balcony... Windows were located to the North side, so no direct sunlight all the day. The telephone in the room was broken and spread strange voices time by time, so we had to disconnect it before going to sleep. The problem was not noticed by housemaid, so it continued all the vacation. Sad. I would suggest to book a garden view room, which costs cheaper and you have an opportunity to see beautiful garden/pool and possible a little bit of sea. And of course the room will be bright and homely. I think that the hotel is only for families with children, I do not suggest this hotel for couples. In the hotel there are many unaccompanied children, who do anything they want, without any warnings from staff or parents. Hotel doors and walls are made from bad quality material, so sound insulation is bad. You will start hearing crying/screaming children in the corridors 5 minutes before official breakfast (7,25 am). And the noises in evenings from other rooms. And the lighting in the rooms is terrible. You can't even read a book in evening, because it is too dark. It is bad for the eyes. Staff even in reception can't speak English well. The receptionist wasn't able to tell in English where our room is located (it was in separate building). Luckily, the one staff members was able to help us and find the room later (hotel has several buildings). In other places (pool, beach, snack bar, lobby bar etc) staff wasn't able to talk in English too (even worse situation), some do not even understand what you want. You ask in English, you get response in German and you of course don't get the situation cleared... Hotel is also full of German people, who think that all people around them are Germans and tries to talk with you in German. No activities for adults, the animation team is working with children almost only. In June were was no pool activities (maybe due to weather conditions). There was good things as well. The territory of hotel is huge, it has long beach. Beach sand is clean (unless you think the sea shells are trash). The pools are large. One of pool is deeper. There are many places to eat, even if you are on beach or pool and want to snack something. The food is delicious and various. The hotel has WiFi in almost all territory, even outside the buildings. It is fast, but sometimes unstable (disconnects). The cleaning of rooms is good quality, the rooms after cleaning smells and looks fresh. The rooms has new TVs, so you can take a HDMI cable or USB stick to have your favorite movie played on larger screen. The beach is big and there are many sunbeds, but if you want to go far away from people you should take a portable sun umbrella from Towel service, but the quantity of them is limited. In the hotels territory chef is making popcorn and delicious donuts, the ice cream is available as well. Cocktails and other drinks from bars are good quality and delicious. In conclusion, we are a little bit sad about the room we got, but I think that hotel is still quite good if you have children and looking for calm vacation.
I may honestly recomend. Bulgaria isn't the most exclusive holiday destination but in this hotel guests can feel very pampered in very western-way. Best for a 1 week stay. If possible book apartment with sea view in the main building. Upgrading isnt very costly and the spacy room and view are just amazing! Neighbourhoud not very impressive. Souvenirs made of dalmascena rose definietly worth buying :)
1. Very clean; 2. Choice of few swimming pools, one -heated; 3. Excellent choice of food in the restaurant; 4. Very nice sandy beach; 5. Very friendly and helpful staff; 6. Variety of activities like yoga in the morning, aqua aerobics, Zumba, table tennis; 7. Animation staff speak German mainly, evening program also in German, very uncomfortable if you are not fluent in German; 8. The rooms lighting is very poor, it's very dark in the room in the evening, way too dark, never seen such a poor lighting in any other hotel.
The rooms and comfortable and large Excellent for kids and families. Excelent beach and pools, friendly hosts, good food. For adventurers, - jet and water sports (banana, etc) We will visit this place again.
