I came with Granddaughter and our room was on the second floor but since there was no elevator it was difficult for me to carry our suitcases up the flight of stairs.

When new this was probably a really nice motel - but that was some years ago. It's tired. There was only a single hanger (locked-to-the-bar type) and the desk had no more. The carpet as stretched and worn. The A/C sounded like a jet taking off. A spray bottle of cleaning fluid was left in the counter next to the sink one day. A replacement roll of toilet paper was not installed after being needed. There was no USA Today. There was no juice at continental breakfast, just coffee and milk for cereal. But the bananas were good. And the location was perfect for me - near the Interstate, and next door to a good Pizza Hut for supper.

The first thing I noticed was a horrible musty smell when I entered the hotel. We looked around and everything was old, beat up and the walls had cracking plaster. We decided to give it a shot and look at the room but it was not tolerable. The hotel staff was understanding and gave us a refund

I booked this hotel because of the close proximity to the Verizon Wireless Ampitheatre. We were able to walk to and from the concert with out a problem. The hotel was also convenient to restaurants. The room was extremely clean. This hotel is a great bargain.

I have no complaints. I just needed a place to sleep for one night. it was affordable, clean and assessable. I was satisfied.

My husband and I decided to take a one night vacation away from home. We love going to Oak Mountain so we wanted something close by. We also wanted something that was very inexpensive as well as something close to restaurants. Travelodge had it all. It was the closest to Oak Mountain and seconds away from over 17 restaurants!! We paid less than $60 for our room and when we got there, we were surprised to see they had a mini fridge and microwave as well as cable TV. The bed was not a 5 star but was comfortable none the less. We were very pleased with the value of the room and the safety of this hotel. It was clean & a good size. We even got an extra hour before having to check out! I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a cheap place to stay in this area!

Was leary at the price thinking it might not be up to par to say the least. Room was CLEAN, nice and staff was very accomodating! Would definitely stay again!

This hotel was awful! The pictures online of the rooms were nothing like what we actually had. The rooms were tiny. Me and my two sons were stepping all over each other. The service was horrible. Had to beg everyday for towels and they would only give us two each day and there was three of us staying there. The fridge and microwave in the room did not work. We were able to connect to the wifi but the signal was so poor it constantly cut out. Also, the distance from the Hoover Met was listed as 4 miles, which was a big reason I chose this hotel, but it was actually nearly 10 miles away. I may have saved 5 bucks a night over the competition but it was definitely not worth it. I will never stay at this or any other Travel Lodge ever again.

Clean well-appointed room. Continental breakfast limited to coffee, juice, muffin, and cereal. Room smelled of deoderant probably to cover for smoker in this smoke free room. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

Non smoking room smelled good when door opened but once laid down could smell cigarette smoke in the pillows and comforter. Bathroom had a lot of mold in the baseboard corners. Not a good visit for my allergies. Is conveniently located off the highway. Also given a upstairs room and no elevator available. If climbing stairs is a challenge you may address this at reservation. Night clerk said she was not authorized to change rooms.

Free wi-fi, clean rooms, great staff---it's not the newest hotel and it doesn't necessarily have fancy amenities like swimming pools and the like, but copy and fax services plus free wi-fi had me at the get go. The manager even called us after we got to the room to make sure it met with our approval. I have stayed here twice and the location can't be beat, right off the interstate and there are a multitude of restaurants around. We skipped the in-room coffee and continental breakfast and went with Dunkin' Donuts instead, but I liked the option. If you want a clean place to stay that's easy to get to and safe, stay here. I would not hesitate to stay here again the next time I'm in town. If you want the fancy amenities, choose somewhere else, but this had everything I needed.

This is a clean and quiet hotel in close proximity to Pelham. I've stayed there twice and will do so again. I've had 2 problems - a dirty refrigerator once and a problem with the reservation last time. The staff is friendly and has fixed both problems, though it's a little disconcerting that such problems occur. If you're looking for luxury, look elsewhere - this is just a place to lay your head down at night at the cheapest prices around

We stayed a whole week during ITF tennis tournament, good shower, good bed, good internet, good price... We bought some fruits, yogurts, to fuel up breakfast.

Service was excellent at the Travel Lodge Hotel thanks to the attendant on duty, [...]! She was great with giving me directions to the hotel once we got in town. Upon arrival, I enjoyed friendly conversation with her as my family unpacked the car. I must say, I truly enjoyed my stay in "sweet home Alabama" and I purchased a new car! From the words of a satisfied customer,Sweet "E" aka Erika

The hotel was very convenient, it was easy to access from the interstate with a good location near restaurants. The overall room was small. The shower is not designed for tall people. The bed was comfortable. Check in was easy and the staff was nice. All in all I can't complain, for the trip was nice and I could have paid more for less somewhere else.

The staff seemed unprepared for the full house they had because of the near by Talladega NASCAR race that weekend.

We checked in rather early and we noticed our room was handicaped however, ther is now way anyone with a wheelchair could get around in the room. Our lamps were either not working or broken, the cable didn't work and the floor was so gross you wouldn't want to walk on it barefoot. I had to keep the curtains closed with my hair clips as they were broken from the rod. We were in the front of the building where cars were parked about 25 feet from the window as they could see right in. I had to lean down about a foot to take a shower as it was made for someone handicaped. When I asked to be moved to another room, the manager told me that the hotel was booked. I pointed out that the room next to me had not been filled yet and would like to be moved in there. He denied me and sent the maintenance man in to fix the cable and put new bulbs in the lights. We had no space to put our luggage other than the table so then there was no where to sit other than the bed. The room I had asked to be moved to was twice the size of our room and had luggage racks(something that would have been nice had I actually been handicaped). The continental breakfast was served out of what looked to be a storage closet at one point.

I am extremely disappointed with the Travel Lodge. Although I've stayed at inexpensive hotels, never have I stayed at a place so filthy. The room was small, smelled bad, carpet worn & torn, and they didn't have additional towels available. The first night I had to visit WalMart to purchase towels, disinfect, soap, and air freshners to put in the room. I would rather sleep in my car before I return to the Travel Lodge.
