We came upon this hotel because we had been driving all day, there were storm warnings out and we just wanted to get off the road. I'm a Choice Privileges Member and this hotel came up. The lobby looked and smelled clean. I was actually reading the horrendous reviews of this place as we were checking in. Had I read them before we stopped I probably wouldn't have stayed here. Don't believe everything you read. Yes, the hotel isn't new, but our room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast provided in the morning was very good. The lady at the front desk was very proud of their home made biscuits, as she should have been. YUM. I couldn't find any fault with this hotel.
Please question any review over 1!! Dirty sheets, toothpaste UNDER one of the pillows as I entered the room! Disgusting gray towels. The sheets had not been changed before we got there. Hair and dirt and stains on the sheets!! Used Kleenex on the floor behind the door as we walked in. Black dust/debris kept showing up on the bathroom counter. Black handprints on almost every wall. Broken ceiling fan with black dirty on ceiling all around it. All walls were literally covered with black dirt and disgusting! All lamp shades were broken. Even the TV was gross...looks like it was wiped down with a greasy rag. I stay in Hotels on avg 3 nights per week and this is easily the worst I have experienced. Soap and paint are cheap! Clean this place and throw up a coat of paint or please close the place down! Best part of all...I told the front desk about everything in the morning and Sydney said I should have said something “last night” and they would have taken care of it”...how, at 11:43pm could you clean and paint a room? When i talked to him this morning he said the housekeeping lady was new. He told me this afternoon when i called to see if he saw the room that everything was fine and that HE changed the sheets yesterday himself. Not sure how that changed but now it wasn’t a new lady. I am actually embarrassed for this establishment. Moving up to Alabaster for the rest of our stay in town.
Hotel is old , not very clean. Room had a musty smell. Price is high for what you get. I would suggest the Hampton Inn across the street. However, the employees were very nice. Not staying there again.
Hello. Rooms were moldy. Had to change hotel after few nights because bad air. Dont sleep there if you have a change. Price is too high for this level rooms. One night is absolutely maximum to stay in this hotell.
This is a great place to be robbed by the hotel. Since I did not have a credit card I had to pay extra $100 deposit. The owners came up with some crazy story that was a complete lie that caused complete confusion and unnecessary damage in our lives in order to keep the $100. I will regret for the rest of my life EVER staying at this establishment. And I hope that this place is closed down for the inconvenience they have put my family through. A apology could not make it better. BEWARE TRAVELERS DO NOT STAY HERE PLEASE THEY WILL ROB YOU.
Rooms were clean , Food left in our frig. Needs a lot of updating.Rooms were small. Breakfast was good. Small and crowded breakfast area.Good overnight stop. Would not stay much longer. Beds small. Many places to eat nearby. Easy access from the freeway. We were there in May and the pool was still not open. Would stay for a quick stop only.
The rooms were OK but for the normalcy of those rooms, they were VERY expensive. We arrived later in the evening but not real late, so no food, and we had to be up and out early and breakfast wasn't set up yet, so......
Mistake #1: We decided to stick it out after killing 5 cockroaches in room 109 at the Quality Inn in Calera, AL. Mistake #2: Exhausted, I didn't check for bed bugs like I normally do and I couldn't regret it more. I woke up the next morning, quickly checked out of the hotel, and then noticed itchy spots all over my body shortly after leaving. I have a total of 5 bites on my hands, 3 on my legs, 3 on my torso, and one on each arm. In the attached photos you'll see some of the bites (my hands were extremely irritated at first, as you'll see). I called the hotel simply to let it be known so that the next guest would not suffer the same fate. I was told that it is impossible for the hotel to have bed bugs because they put bed bug covers on their mattresses. If you know anything about bed bugs, you know they not only reside in mattresses, but in carpets, drapery, pillows and so on. It is VERY possible to have bed bugs even with mattress covers. After mentioning the cockroaches, I was told that they are "outside bugs" and that they can only do so much to prevent them. I expressed that I wanted nothing more than for the room to be inspected before the next occupants. I even offered to send pictures of my bites but was told it was unnecessary. Although I did not see a bed bug (I left town before realizing I may have come in contact), I know this: I have never reacted to any other bug bite like this, I was not previously outside and exposed to insects, I noticed the bites very shortly upon awakening, and I absolutely did not have these itchy bites before staying in room 109. I am open to the possibility that I am reacting to flea bites, as this hotel is pet friendly. Regardless, I left the hotel with bug bites, discomfort, and a general sense of paranoia, fearing I may bring unwanted crawly guests home. Regarding all else, staff was cooperative and accommodating. The room itself is what you would expect for such a price.
After drive 7 hours we pulled over at 3am for a rest. $85 plus taxes a night. The overwhelming smell of dog and a musty smell was awful. My son has bad asthma and immediately started coughing and had to use his inhaler . The bed was burnt with a cigarette see pics and the bathroom ceiling had mold and the toilet didn't flush . Dead bugs and spiders behind the bed ,yuuucm. We would have left if it wasn't so late. We couldn't leave fast enough after 5 hours sleep.
We were very pleased with the accommodations. The room was clean and very comfortable. It was very nice to have breakfast included. The hotel was full but VERY quiet. Bed was very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again!
