I phoned up in January to book a spa day for February. Had to call numerous times as no one was answering the phone. When i did get through the lady i spoke to seemed very confused and flustered about booking the spa day. I told her what package we had and she confirmed it was for two people with two treatments each, and that we didn't need to book the treatments now as we would do that on the day. Arrived at the hotel and was impressed with the building and surrounding area as it looked lovely. When we entered the hotel we asked for directions to the spa and was told by a not so friendly member of reception staff the directions to the leisure club. We made our way around the hotel to the leisure club reception to book in for our spa. We was met by a young man who didn't really seem like he knew what he was doing, he told us that there was no robe available today and that we could use the pool now and make our way up to the spa at the allocated treatment time. I asked if we had to let them know which treatments were required, he did not know so he rang up to the spa but he didnt receive an answer so was told to come back later. We went to the pool area which was full of children and families, which is fair enough and totally understandable as it was half-term, as we do not have children we was unaware of this so it would have been nice to be informed when booking. We decided to make our way to the spa area anyways and we spoke to a lady on the reception. She told us our package only included one treatment which contradicted what the lady on the phone had told us. She also informed us that there were no robes left and they were only available for people who had booked. Yet we had booked so this left me confused. She did apologies but still, ive never know a spa not to have robes especially when you have people booked in. I asked her what she suggest we do without them and she advised we walk around in our towels. I would feel rather uncomfortable doing this and by this time i was a little fed up. Me and my partner made our way to the bar and i decided to try my luck and call Bannatynes Solihull, which was about 15 minutes away. Luckily they had space for us to use their spa the same day and receive our treatments. We ended up having a lovely day at Bannatynes. Maybe we just caught this Marriott hotel on a bad day, however we wouldn't risk returning.

A would guess this hotel to be best positioned towards the golfer. Grounds & Golf course look great. Sadly the hotel itself is less than impressive. The major issue for me is the temperature of the guest room which was far to high and could not be cooled in anyway. No air conditioning & opening of windows restricted. Further to this, sound proofing between rooms is not perfect, and your stay will be impacted by your neighbours.

I spent a couple of days here on business. The staff were always approachable and helpful. The food was excellent and my room was very comfortable although the decor and furnishings are starting to look very tired.

We booked a room with two queen sized beds which was great to share with my grandaughter. I feel that the rooms are looking a bit tired now though. I enjoyed the bathroom with plenty of space for toiletries etc. However, the towels seem to be past their sell by date! Looking a little thin. On check in the gentleman on reception was a bit off hand to my daughter in law. We ordered room service for four adults and two children and they were very attentive and offered to bring the children's meals first and the drinks earlier. It was a bit expensive but you expect that really but we all enjoyed the meals. However, we ordered some desserts with ice cream and these were not covered and by the time we had eaten our main course these were melting. They were still eaten though!! The room was comfy and warm and quiet, nice comfy pillows, no gripes there. In the morning we had a quick breakfast on the way to Peppa Pig World and thought the prices were really good and the staff extremely friendly and helpful to what we required. Overall a good stay and handy for Peppa Pig World!

I'm in full agreement with most of the previous posts. The staff are attentive and professional. Very pleased with the service. The rooms are a little dated and NOT worthy of a 4 star rating. I would imagine it's a fabulous spot for golf as the scenery is nice.

I decided on this hotel rather than one in the city centre as felt it would be a safer option as I was travelling on my own with my two children. It was a good choice for that as I felt very safe and we were greeted to fantastic and welcoming staff. Much appreciated and well done to the team. After dropping off our bags we headed straight for the pool which the children enjoyed. I have to say that the changing rooms are in need of some improvement and modernisation. We noticed to Zest for dinner and I found the menu expensive and limited for adults however the children's menu was good value. Again, the staff were helpful. Our room had two queen beds which was perfect and although comfortable the room was dated. We enjoyed breakfast in the morning and I felt there was a good choice available although it would have been nice to been offered coffee alternatives i.e lattes or cappuccinos (even if a machine and you make yourself). I also feel skimmed milk should be available. A good spot for visiting the area and I thought good value for money.

I recently stayed at the Marriott Forest of Arden to attend a 2 day conference. From arrival, the staff were polite, courteous and bent over backwards to be helpful. Rooms were real and we were able to check in early. The rooms were very comfortable and had all that was needed to make a very pleasant experience. The conference facilities were excellent - the rooms were suitable for our numbers and, yet again , the staff were extremely attentive to our needs. Food provided during the days of the conference was delicious and plentiful. The evening meals in the restaurant were of a high standard and the wait was not excessive. All in all I would recommend this hotel and would have no hesitation in returning for a further conference or use it as a base for a family leisure break.

Let down by cheap tasting tea and coffee with breakfast. Penny pinching ( paying for wifi…really!? Flimsy toilet paper, almost see through, UHT milk in bedroom, 10% service charge on bar food NOT advertised!,,,no newspaper, rough nose tissues, would make your nose sore if you used more than one or two ). Evening bar menu restricted and average. Great mattress, sleep broken only by Neanderthals bringing kids to their room at midnight, and late night revellers… Why there aren't signs reminding guests to be considerate is beyond me

What a stunning place - set off the main Bham/Coventry Rd a few miles away from Birmingham Airport in stunning parkland and a great golf course this is a fantastic hotel but much more the staff are fantastic with great detail to attention. The food was excellent with great meeting rooms and ballroom. Bedrooms are full value with beds you dont want to leave. Plenty of car parking and very private. Be careful when you are trying to find it you might lose your way in the beautiful countryside.

My wife and 2 young children were excited to get away somewhere nice, as we rarely get the opportunity, I chose this hotel as it is part of the Marriott Hotel group, renowned for great service and because the rooms and location looked beautiful ... Boy was I disappointed! We arrived at around 3pm and were keen to take the children swimming, therefore paid little attention to the room, other than to glance over the offering. It was apparent a that the room was somewhat dated, as the last time I stayed at the hotel was in 2009, as I remember the hotel had recently been refurbished at the time (I expected this, but still decided to book, as having stayed in many Marriott hotels, I was confident that the service and standards would remain high). On returning to the room prior to dinner a sour smell was apparent in the bathroom, but as we were rushing to go for dinner with our small children, having showered in the leisure club I did not investigate further. Following dinner we returned to the hotel, at which point I was able to investigate the smell, which was in fact coming from the shower curtain, it was a strong smell clearly caused by the curtain being wet and drying too slowly (reminiscent of clothes being accidentally left in the washing Machine), it was very unpleasant, although as our children had already began falling asleep, we closed the bathroom door to mask the smell. It was at this point that I was utterly shocked at the non-Marriott standards of cleaning within the bedroom. There were small bits on the carpet, suggesting that the floor had either not been vacuumed, or not been vacuumed properly, on investigation it was evident that under the bed had not been cleaned in some time, lots of dust was evident on the headboard and glass shelving above the tea and coffee facilities and the table has glass / cup ring marks which I was able to remove with my finger. At one point my 3 year old son turned on the bedside lamp and a number of dead wasps fell from the bulb onto his arm, which he found rather distressing. Overall we were extremely disappointed with our stay, as a result neither of us slept well and what was meant to be a comfortable and relaxing night away from home was quite the opposite. On writing to the guest service team at the hotel, after 3 days I had received no response and had to resend my complaint at which point it was acknowledged, although only to be forwarded to the Executive Housekeeper. 9 days after my complaint I was offered some Marriott Reward points (not enough to book a room anywhere in the group), as I declined and requested a refund I have been advised that they will only refund 50%, as I complained after I had checked out and not whilst at the hotel. I am still awaiting my 50% refund. Needless to say I will never stay at this hotel again!
