My party of eight spent New Year’s Eve at The Forest if Arden because we had a great time last year and this year was every bit as good. A genuinely warm welcome preceded a beautiful afternoon tea. Our rooms were well appointed and spacious. The champagne reception didn’t stint on the booze and the dinner was top quality, served by pleasant staff who looked as though they were pleased to be there. The following morning our breakfast buffet was as good as it gets and on leaving we were handed a bottle of water to rehydrate during the journey. Having spent the last 12 NYE’s in hotels, I can honestly say the staff at The Forest of Arden are top notch and provide excellent service. The value for money is very good. Well done to all concerned. We hope to see you next New Year’s Eve.

I travel for business quite a bit and don't usually post reviews on TA because most business hotels are similar but have been prompted to comment here. Firstly, there was a problem with getting into my room on arrival and whilst irritating after a long journey, the staff quickly got me into another room and then delivered me some vouchers for complimentary drinks by way of apology. Nice touch. Then this morning I have had breakfast in my room and it was perfect. Not a word I use lightly! I've stopped looking forward to breakfast whilst away for work but this was delivered bang on time and every item was perfectly cooked and presented - poached eggs just right and no excess water on the plate, toast crisp and warm and juice freshly squeezed. A simple thing but joyous nonetheless.

Stayed for three nights over christmas, unfortunately there was a boiler breakdown caused by bad weather that affected the shower and room heating. Reception staff and hotel manager were very helpful and professional when i raised this at checkout. A discretionary discount was applied which i felt was fair and very good customer service i would expect from Marriott. Breakfast is good, rooms spacious and clean, although they are probably approaching time for refresh/redecorate. Easy access from the A45 at Meriden, plenty of free parking, good leisure facilities and pleasant grounds. Plenty of families were staying and the staff were very accomodating with kids.

Being regular NYE Ball goer's we decided to book the Marriott for a change as last year at Nailcote Hall it was a bit disappointing! Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by the check in Staff and offered a complimentary drink whilst signing in which is a nice touch. Our room was on the first floor with a pleasant view over the Golf course. The room itself was fine and we were pleased with it although a tad cold. The Hotel had on offer a pre-dinner "Light Bite" session from 3.30 to 4.30 which was absolutely great! The choice of food was extensive with fancy sandwiches and cakes etc and also it was served with complimentary tea or coffee. I thought what a nice start to our stay here which was further enhanced by a wine tasting experience in the next room. Again it was all done very professionally and there were a large number of wines on offer for you to try and then order for the evening dinner, again a nice touch and somewhat unique from hotels we've stayed in before. At 7.00 pm you were invited to join all the other Guests for Champagne and canapes on the first floor. Again this was a very well presented event with beautiful canapes and glasses of Moet flowing freely, not just one glass as at other Ball's we've attended. We had a great table near to the dance floor and they had a live group and DJ providing the evenings entertainment which went on till 2.00 am! Only blot on the landscape for us was some drunken Guy fell on our table knocking our drinks all over us. The Staff were great and suggested we went and got drinks at the bar whilst they completely changed the table. All sorted in about 5 minutes so no problem, accidents do happen when people are a bit drunk! The 5 course dinner itself was superb and the attention to detail and waitress service we received was second to none. The dessert even had a portion with 2018 written on it which is a classy touch. Next day we had a scrummy full English breakfast followed by toast and Tea to set us up for the day! On checking out the Receptionist asked if we had a nice stay so I said yes other than our table getting knocked over. She very kindly deducted our drinks bill as a measure of apology although it was no fault of the hotel which I thought was a very kind gesture. All told I'd say the Marriott is the best "local" Hotel we've been to for a NYE bash, absolutely first class in all aspects. We shall certainly be booking again for next year so I hope my report doesn't tempt too many other readers to also book otherwise we may not all be able to get in :-)

Excellent evening spent with a lovely group of people and superb band and disco. We were welcomed by some friendly professional staff. At 3.30 we had a beautiful afternoon tea and wine tasting. Later we had a superb 5 course meal and were able to dance the night away. Just a fabulous night. Really comfy beds and lots of lovely little extras.. BUT on a down side the bar and reception rooms were really cool and uncomfortable to sit in, there was no hot water In Morning for showers and breakfast had lots of choice and of good quality but the plates and food were cold and too few staff. No tables cleared and had to help ourselves to coffee as couldn't find staff.

Had a fantastic stay at the Marriott Forest of Arden with family & friends to see the new year in. We booked a New Year’s Eve gala package in the Arden suite and everything went so smoothly from check in to finish for our party. Check in was so organised and we were offered a welcome drink on arrival. The hotel was extremely busy throughout our stay but the service we received from everyone was fantastic. Light bites in the afternoon were amazing. Everyone in our party commented how nice the food was. The NYE dinner dance was such a great evening with a fab atmosphere, with 5 course dinner and entertainment throughout the night into the early hours. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Hotel offered a late Breakfast to guests on New Year’s Day, it was extremely busy but the hotel dealt with it very well again. Food was freshly cooked and service again fantastic. On check out we were offered bottles of water for our journey home which was a nice touch. As we left the hotel it was raining badly, Phillip the porter offered my hubby an umbrella and suggested he go and get the car and bring it up to the entrance for us. A special thanks to Charlotte Eborall who organised our party booking for us and dealt with all our dietry and room requests. All was perfect. Rooms were lovely and everything we requested we got, so a big thank you for that. The gala dinner was enjoyed by all and our gluten free members of our party were well looked after. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and it is in a beautiful location. It’s just a shame we didn’t get time to use the leisure club or have a walk around the beautiful grounds because of the rain. We will have to visit again and take advantage of these facilities. Maybe returning next new year. Thanks again.

Congratulations Forest of Arden - your team is superb and your attention to providing a first class customer experience has paid off again with the 2017 Masquerade Ball. Our party of 8 had a great time from the time we arrived to the minute we left. After a very smooth check-in, we made our way to the room in the main part of the hotel and after unpacking we headed for the included light bites where we enjoyed a great selection of top quality snacks, tea & coffee - I would say an experience equivalent to Afternoon Tea in any top-class hotel. After getting ready for the ball, we were treated to canapes and glasses of Moet & Chandon champagne in advance of the main event which started at 8.00 pm. The room and tables were nicely presented and all was set for welcoming in the New Year. The food was very good and included soup or salmon, haggis & neeps as a middle course, fillet steak as a main and a lovely chocolate dessert. The cheese course was made available for the rest of the evening at a couple of table in the room. Entertainment in the form of a good DJ and live band was perfect for the occasion. Breakfast in the form of a good quality buffet was just what the doctor ordered! Overall every one of our party agreed that it was exceptional value for money and the only slight dampener was the lack of hot water for showers the next morning.

We only stayed here for one night - New Years Eve. First off I would say the staff are excellent. Very friendly, with good interaction and very helpful. From initial booking in to checkout, restaurant and bar staff - all were very good. The hotel itself is a reasonable 4 star, although it could do with some investment in the rooms and public areas. It is a great location, the Golf course looks very good, so with investment it could make a 5 star. My overall impression was that the whole place was a little cold, certainly not warm, the bar area was cold, not unbearable but not comfortable. In fact the breakfast room was the only room I thought was warm. The sports bar is a good facility but again needs money spending on it to upgrade it and make it more comfortable. The leisure facilities, gym, pool and SPA looked good although we didn't use them. Our room was OK, again cold on arrival, but once the radiator had been turned on it warmed up after an hour or so. The radiator should have been set higher for our arrival to warm the room. It was clean, although there were a couple of old hair grips on the floor so it hadn't been vacuumed. In fairness we had arrived on one of the busiest mornings at the hotel, New Years Eve was very busy and the staff were obviously doing their best to get rooms ready for guests. I wasn't too bothered about the fact the floor hadn't been vacuumed it seemed pretty clean and the bathroom was clean. The bathroom was a bath with a shower (it was cold, no heating) also we couldn't get any warm water for a shower on New Years Day. The breakfast was very good, with lots of choice, good service and everything piping hot, although an extra toaster would be a help it took ages to toast. Overall we had a good stay, the New Years Eve ball was excellent, the band was great, the DJ was less enthusiastic and after a good start seemed bored and was looking to get out as soon as he could, so his efforts tailed off. I would recommend the hotel for a one night stay (so long as they get the hot water in the showers sorted) and I would recommend New Years Eve. But at present I wouldn't suggest a longer stay, the hotel needs investment, with a good upgrade to the rooms and public rooms it could be excellent.

Pleased to get a good deal to stay here between Xmas and New Year. Normally can not afford Marriott. Disappointed by a few things, especially not enough staff on at breakfast so long waits to be seated and served hot drinks. Also scrambled eggs were very poor. Some of the fixtures were looking a little tired. Litter in corridors not cleaned up quickly . Enjoyed the pool and the dinner. Overall it was an enjoyable stay, I just expected better, compared to my previous stays at Marriott hotels.

Very convenient hotel. We stayed one night when we were attending an event at the NEC. The hotel information says it is just minutes from the the NEC, and it was true! It is also handy for Solihull, and several National Trust properties, like Packwood and Baddesley Clinton. It has all the facilities you would expect of a Marriott. Much better value for money than hotels near Birmingham airport, and just as easy to get there. I'd recommend giving it a try.
