DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Birmingham

3.5 out of 5.0

We stayed here for 4 nights and not once did we get fresh towels. All that was done was they made our bed every day. No sugar refills for the coffee either. Not sure why. If we had to go down and ask for towels and then just hung them up and reused the ones we got

I arrived a day late because of flight cancellation due to weather. Being a Hilton honors member I did not receive a Hilton honors room

Still needed an uber to get to bjcc but good hotel overall. Good location great breakfast

This location turned out to be great! Very convenient to the interstate and some good restaurants. Will definitely stay here again.

The trip overall was great, except that housekeeping did not come in until almost four pm (so we came back to an unmade room).. which is when we had just come back .. when i asked them to come back a little later in around an hour, they refused. I am not sure if this is the general trend but it was definitely not expected. I hope someone looks into this.

The staff was polite and efficient, the bar service was excellent, the location is good. The only problem was the room. The room was dirty. There Was a condom wrapper on the floor and an earring on the floor as well as other debris. Also the room reeked of bleach that gave the three of us a headache. The shower was not good. No water pressure. Also the a/c was not impressive in Alabama in August. It is time to overhaul this hotel in my opinion. It was way too expensive for what we got.

Great weekend with friends. The hotel is within walking distance of great restaurants and bars. Also, the hotel has some of the fastest elevators I've been on.

I picked the DoubleTree because a friend of mine told me it was closest to the Birmingham social scene. 5 points is just a short walk away which is nice but the hotel can best be described as average. Also, if you put the address into your GPS, it takes you to the ghetto, not the hotel.

Great room! But be aware the parking pass they give you is not free! 10 bucks a day! And was not told in advance :-(

I stayed overnight as I was moving out of my nearby apartment. It was a pleasant stay, but not particularly remarkable. I did enjoy the warm cookies at check-in.

Very comfortable room with several amenities. Very clean rooms as well, and friendly staff. I had an important event the next day, and this place allowed me to get the rest I needed. The only downside was that it was hard to find an easy place to eat food nearby (however, there is a Subway right across the street). I would stay here again myself the next time I am in town.

The location was prime for where I needed to be within the city.

Was there for class at UAB, had to pay for internet, and $10 a DAY for parking. Also no fridge or microwave. Location to UAB is within walking distance, and you get a free cookie.

Great!

When we arrived the ac was not working in our room, but the staff quickly sent maintenance and replaced the unit. Later in the night the new unit went out. Once again, the staff quickly resolved the problem by moving us to a new room. While it was a small inconvenience to have to move in the middle of the night, problems happen and the staff at the Doubletree did everything they could to resolve the situation in a prompt and professional manner. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The location is conveniently located to the 5 Points area that offers several dining options. We will definitely consider returning.

well maintained with helpfull staff, this is a really nice place to stay downtown.

I was very pleased with the location, the cleanliness and how quiet things were. The room was very small however and lacked adequate space to store clothing/luggage out of the way.

The Doubletree in downtown Birmingham, AL was awesome. The staff were friendly and checked us in promptly. They even provide each person in the party with a Doubletree cookie upon checkin, they were delicious. The lobby as well as our room was beautifully decorated and up to date. We had a wonderful night's sleep with the perfect bed and plush pillows and comforters. As soon as my head hit the pillows, I was out like a light. We all sleep comfortably. My kids enjoyed the outdoor pool. If we every come back to Birmingham, I would not stay anywhere else. This was an awesome experience.

Our stay was on a Saturday night after an Alabama Football game. The hotel is very nice, parking garage convenient to rooms, and a much nicer hotel and better value than what we have to pay to stay at not so nice hotels in Tuscaloosa. The beds were very comfortable. We live 4 hours from Tuscaloosa and will definitely consider staying in Birmingham after a football game rather than Tuscaloosa in the future.

It was very close to the place I was going for an interview, very convenient, and the shuttle service from the airport was a big plus.
