Hotel,is centrally located to many of the city’s attractions. Rooms are very small bathroom and shower as well as the room itself need to be refurbished. Or even enough space in room for a couch and the chair near the small table is too close to the bed to sit and work, read or do anything. Room lacks even a kettle to make coffee. Breakfast is good and the 12 floor bat Iis nice but expensive.
The hotel is very well located, close to the Guggenheim and to the streets where you can find good pinchos. You need either a small car or to be a good driver to manage driving in the parking but this is the same for almost all city center hotels. The rooms are clean and comfortable, very good mattress, the breakfast is fantastic and the staff everywhere is kind and efficient. My favorite hotel when I go to Bilbao.
So I’m currently staying at this hotel for 4 nights and basically it’s OK. They said on Booking.com that they had international channels on the TV which they don’t, and the windows open fully which is great except I’m in the 8th floor and completely dangerous! That aside, it’s ok, I will choose the Miro or Carlton next time I visit though.
We have just returned from a 5 night stay at the Ercilla, this being our second stay there. The hotel is very clean & comfortable. It is central for all attractions & there are lots of bars & restaurants around. The staff are friendly, polite & helpful, especially the breakfast staff. We loved the breakfast - there is plenty of choice & it is constantly refilled. There is a comfortable bar, with a pianist playing most nights. The hotel is being refurbished but there is very little disturbance. We will definitely return. Thank you for a great stay!
Great location but avoid the roof top bar as it is super overpriced for the cheated measures and poor customer service. Overall sub standard service and a definite disappointment in relation to value for money and service provisioning.
Started badly as checkin girl started to check me then mid way through left to answer a phone and left me for 7/8 mins just standing there. Then when I went to my room there were three people already in it, quite a shock for me and them. When i did get another room it was tiny, extremely date and looked and felt dirty. Will not be back
I know that hotel breakfasts aren't great in Spain, but how a hotel in a great food area like the Basque Country can produce a breakfast as awful as this requires real talent or more probably just neglect. The reception area is understaffed and the lifts are too small and too slow for a hotel with 12 floors. Won't stay here again.
Our family of 4 (with 2 teenagers) spent 2 nights here. Hotel is in a perfect spot 20 minutes walk from anything in (the great) town. The lobby bar was a nice spot to hang. Rooms were clean and big. My only gripe was that the front desk staff could be more helpful...we were struggling to find a restaurant for New Years Eve and they could not have been more uninterested in helping us find one. We ended up eating room service that night, which was OK by us, but my wife's steak was raw and cold and had to be sent back. Willing to chalk it up to an off night, and they were nice and replaced it auickly, but a couple of missteps prevent a 5 star review.
I was in 2 minds about giving a 5* review, when on the first morning we were awoken by the sound of works. I went to reception and was informed that work was taking place to refurbish the floor below us (9th) that week. Reception were brilliant. Immediately they moved us to 2nd floor and gave us free breakfast for the week. Superb. The standard rooms are spacious, clean and well equipped. The lobby bar is a chilled refined space to spend time and Gabi the main man offers superb service. This is a quality hotel in a quality location at a fantastic price. We will be back.
Well located in the centre of shopping area. Rooms are quite big but need renovation! Works are going on for the moment (January 2018) so expect noise..had room on the 12th Floor and from 9 o’clock could not sleep any more.. Breakfast is huge, a lot of sweet pastry, fruits, Spanish tapas. Staff is very friendly!
