Overall it is a very nice hotel especially after the renewal with the new building! The rooms are comfortable, clean and modern! I think it is the best option for business travelers in the area! The national road is close by! I would give it five stars but the heating is not working properly (it was also a major problem in the old building rooms) so if the weather is cold please have it in mind!

It can't get any better in such location. The service is always at their best, but at the restaurant it might get a little bad, if you're lucky you won't have any issue during dinner, specially if it's not crowded.

ok, this time I could at least stay connected, but 2mbit? seriously? Anyone who in 2017 considers TWO MBIT as "high speed internet" has obviously missed the last 20 years. That being said: Clean rooms, nice restaurant, acceptable breakfast, friendly staff. Too bad that this is the only hotel in the area that is close to where I had to work. If things had gone wrong I would have had to cancel an exam that cost the customer roughly 7500,-€, due to the WiFI here.

Van der Valk Hotel Tiel is located near the A15 motorway in the province of Gelderland. It was my first trip to Tiel and I decided to stay a night here before exploring the town center. The hotel is a 5-minute drive from the town center and offers free parking for guests (a plus point for those who travel with their own vehicles). Tiel - one of the oldest towns in The Netherlands, is the largest town in the Betuwe area. Well-known for the annual 'Fruitcorso' (Fruit parade) festival which is held to celebrate the fruit harvest from the Betuwe area, Tiel once housed the famous jam factory 'De Betuwe'. If you are a fruit lover or a fan of 'Flipje', Tiel is a great place to check out. Entering the modern hotel lobby, the beautiful decor made a great, first impression. Check-in was fast and efficient. There is a cafe (koffiebar) on the ground floor. Walking past the cafe to the lifts, the smell of freshly-brewed coffee was a nice welcome for a coffee lover. A good security feature is that the elevators require keycard access to the guest room floors. The room on the 11th floor was spacious, clean and well-maintained. The bed was comfortable with good pillows. Well-lit with an amazing view, the room had a flat-screen tv, mini fridge, coffee/tea making facilities and wardrobe with clothes hangers. The digital thermostat (climate control) on the wall was user-friendly. Complimentary toiletries were provided in the bathroom which has a ceiling-mounted rain shower system in the glass shower enclosure (in addition to a removable hand-held shower head). On the 16th floor of the hotel, you will find the Skybar SIXX. This stylish skybar offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the surroundings. Being curious, I walked around the skybar looking out of the glass windows to have a bird's-eye view of the surrounding area. A great place to relax and enjoy a few drinks. The hotel offers live-cooking dinners but it is highly recommended to make reservations for the live-cooking buffet on weekends in advance. Breakfast was served in the restaurant on the 2nd floor. They offer a generous breakfast spread - you'll find a wide variety of food and beverage choices. Scrambled eggs, mushrooms, sausages, bacon, cheese, honey, fruit jam, bread, 'poffertjes', cereals and more. A traditional Dutch treat resembling small, fluffy pancakes, 'poffertjes' are usually served with boter (butter), stroop (syrup) and poedersuiker (powdered sugar). I enjoyed a wonderful stay here. Elegant but not ostentatious, this hotel offers many amenities - massage/spa, fitness centre, congress/meeting facilities, swimming pool, health food store, physiotherapy centre and so forth. In my opinion, good value for money, especially if you are looking for a quiet hotel conveniently located close to the motorway and easily accessible by car.

Coffee bar closed, Sushi bar closed, swimming pool closed. No warm water in the morning for shower or bath. No refund or just a coffee to compensate a little. No enthousiasm further than needed. It's a job.

Hotel is located close to a major highway which is very convenient. Great breakfast buffet, Dinner was good nothing spectacular. Clean rooms, the bed was a bit small though. Friendly staff. Nice bar on the 16th floor.

Swimming pool was not available (repair and maintenance), however we got an e-mail to inform us the day before we were traveling. The new van der Valk in Tiel is much and much better than the old one and surely we will come back. Hopefully, next time we can make use of the swimming pool!

Very nice venue in a very nice area of the Netherlands. The hotel had by surprise a very large and comfy swimming pool. All employees are genuinly concerned and friendly helpful. Great coffee bar and you should visit the SIXX skybar.

Really disappointed with the room with a terrible drain and toilet smell. Addressed this with the staff. No action taken, unbelievable! We mentioned of several occasions with the problem with the room. The room itself was in the older part of the hotel. Simply will not return.

Very nice facilities, high standard of finish. Friendly staff and good food. Beds are comfortable, the hotel has everything you need and only a 5 minute drive into the heart of Tiel which is a lovely little town
