Great hotel. Service was very good and friendly. The decoration of the hotel was a mix of design and coziness, there was a room in the front which was part of the bar, with couches and lazy chairs, great room for relaxing with a great view! The rooms were nice and very clean, loved the bed!! Wish i stayed more than just one night. And finally the breakfast was excellent as well
We stayed at the Cambrian on early this month for 3 nights. We had a high expectation since i am type of person that always do my research before i pick anything. This hotel happened to be the one satisfying my expectation for every list that i had. I followed the recommendation to stay at the south side of the hotel ( mountain view)! Oh em gee, as we walked in to the room, i rushed in to our balcony and check the view right away, i was totally in awe with "endless wow" coming out of my mouth). Gorgeous mountain and little village scene at the foot of it! Picture perfect from the story book. Yes, It is worth it to pay extra for that kind view to wake up in to every morning and to say good night to every evening. Just über stunning. The room is pretty comfortable, it was little bit stuffy at first when we arrived but we opened the door and window right away, the clean mountain breeze fixed the problem right away, the size was pretty good considered it being european hotel. The amenities in the room were on point. We had dinner in their bar because their restaurant was fully booked when we arrived and we didnt feel like going anywhere! The food were great, surprisingly not dissapointing for bar's menu. And of course we had to take the advantage of their beautiful lounge with the gorgeous view, so there we had our first dinner in Switzerland, cozied up by their wood burning fireplace! Just perfect to start your vacay in the right way! We had the breakfast at the end of our stay and loved everything, again... including the view. The pool is super uh-mazzing! The only down side is little bit too crowded most of the time. But we took a dip in their warm infinity outdoor pool overlooking the breathtaking view. We still enjoyed it despite of the crowd. Last but not least, the staff. I have to mention about their wonderful staff! Chiara and Natalie were our fave. They both are very hospitable, very courteous and very helpful. They gave us the most "seemed like" great customer service that make you feel like home in a strange country. Keep up the great work ladies! We definately come back and stay at your place again and enjoy more of Adelboden. Before i end this comment, make sure you wake up in the morning and watch the cows parade down from the mountain. The most interesting and the cutest thing to watch!! There you have it, my wonderful experienc at the Cambrian, Adelboden. A. G
This hidden gem in Adelboden is hands down the BEST place I have stayed during my visits to Switzerland. Not only is the staff AMAZING, the rooms beautiful, the location perfect, but it is also an ideal base for exploring the more "offbeat" less touristy areas of Switzerland (which I thrive on). Highly recommend you stay at least 3 nights and FOR SURE go explore the waterfall that is in the distance in the mountains too! My only complaints are minor... Parking is sketchy in their small lot (but don't worry they will gladly park it for you). Then second, I'm a meat and potatoes girl and not so much a "foodie" so I didn't enjoy their restaurant menu as much as I think people who do would =) But there are many options nearby as an alternative. Endless 5 stars overall though, Stay Here!
We took a trip with another couple for my birthday in August 2017. We couldn't speak more highly of the hotel! The atmosphere, staff, cleanliness, and views deserve 5 stars all around! The hotel even accommodated my Mom calling in from the US in making me a special birthday cake as a surprise. In particular, we received spectacular service from Johnny & Roman at the bar and Svenja at the front desk/management! The young woman who provided our spa treatments were incredible, as well. The spa facilities are amazing with the various types of spas, pools, and showers. Of course, the outdoor infinity pool was phenomenal with breaktaking views of the surrounding alps and rolling greens mountains. The fact that we can walk around the hotel in our robes made it extra special, for that true spa feeling! The location of the hotel is perfect, as well, as it is right in the center of town making it easy to explore. It's also in close proximity to Oeschinensee and Kandersteg where there is a bunch to see and do. Highly recommend; we will be coming back! Thank you to "The Cambrian" for my most special birthday yet :)
We stayed at the Cambrian for six nights, and I would rate it as one of the best--if not THE best--hotel experiences in my many years of traveling the world. It has been a good while since I felt motivated enough by a hotel/trip to actually post a review on Trip Advisor. The views, the accommodations/amenities, and the SERVICE were all a cut above. The staff truly goes above and beyond for you when approached, without being overly intrusive or falsely gregarious. Every recommendation we were given was thoughtful and led to a wonderful vacation. On our final night, we had to leave at an obscenely early hour to make our flight, and the staff not only had our rental car ready at the entrance when we arrived but had assembled to-go breakfast bags containing delicious croissants, pain au chocolat, sandwiches, apples, nectarines, breakfast bars, and bottled water for our airport trip. Given that no restaurant or shop would be open at 4:30 a.m., this was an incredibly nice touch and a great example of the service as a whole. We stayed in two separate rooms during our stay. For the first three nights, we were in a north-facing room that faced chalets and churches on the hillside. It was incredibly beautiful, and we enjoyed a front-row view when the cow herders led the cows, with their large bells, through the village on two occasions. Just for some variety, we upgraded to a south-facing room with a view of the mountains for our last three nights for a small additional fee. We were lucky to have a couple of sunny days, and so the views were spectacular of Engstligenalp (the snow-capped mountain) and Engstligenfalle (the waterfall below it). You have to be pretty jaded to be unimpressed by this hotel's breathtaking views. Even if your room doesn't have access to the mountain views, you can enjoy them from the restaurant, the outdoor patio, the pool areas, and the lounge on the ground floor. With respect to amenities, we enjoyed swimming in both the indoor and outdoor pool, playing some late night pool on the pool table on the main floor, lounging by the fireplace in the adjacent main space, having a drink at the cozy bar, and eating a delicious breakfast from the large buffet in the restaurant each morning. There is much to do in Adelboden as well. We enjoyed hiking in various areas surrounding the town, riding the trotinettes down the mountains, trying out the local restaurants, and shopping for gifts at the ample number of stores only steps away from the hotel. We also visited Interlaken and Grindelwald, which are each about an hour's drive away. Both are worth visiting, but Adelboden is much quainter, quieter, and less touristy feeling than these places, while also excellent at catering to tourists. All in all, it was a stellar experience. We are already talking about returning with our children when they are a bit older.
The Cambrian is by far one of the best hotels a tourist could ever immagine. The hotel is as it is described. The breakfast is very good even though every day there are the same options on offer, which for me were quite good. I liked the dinner concept the hotel offers, which is that if shared dishes. The pool is a beautiful feature of the hotel as one can enjoy pictoresque views of the mountains surrounding the area. Rooms are kept clean and are of a very good size. Staff is excellent, generous and always willing to help its visitors in every way possible. Overall a very enjoyable experience. I would highly recommend a stay there and would certainly visit again once the opportunity arises.
We stayed here for one night on our APR trek, a very modern hotel with an upmarket clientel. Check in was very effiecient, the room was immaculate and very comfortable, however, we did not get a balcony nor a room with a view. We were allocated on the 4th floor overlooking the main road which did get quite a bit of noise right through the night. The toiletries were Orla Kierly, there was a fridge, water and apples. The bar areas looked good but we ate and drank in town which is a 5 minute walk away. The pool is a little over-rated, very, very small and very busy so not quite as tranquil as the adverts portray unfortunately - this was the only reason i booked this hotel to be honest - a little bit of luxury during an arduous trek. With hindsight, i would book elesewhere in Adelboden if we pass through again. Having said that, service was great and the breakfast was the best of our two week trip.
We spent a couple of days at The Cambrian on a mini honeymoon on way back from getting married in Lake Como Italy, unfortunately the weather was poor, rained for 2 days. In hindsight I would book hotel late - check weather first - hotel was not full. Although a lovely hotel, it is not worth the money, staff are lovely, although we didn't get that extra welcome being honeymooners - other 4/5 star hotels will go that extra mile if you are Honeymooners - No staff in Spa all the time we were there - it rained all day ! We stayed in a junior suite which was £325 a night, I have stayed in much nicer rooms for half the price in top Austrian resorts like Ischgl ( Hotel Fliana ) and you get an evening meal. The Hotel is over selling itself - picture of infinitely pool is photoshopped - village in front. Spa area is nice but experienced better, tiny outside pool. Outside of Hotel is shabby - balconies need a paint.
For years I've planned to check out the Cambrian. I am happy that I've done it now. Together with the family we spent three nights at the hotel. I have to admit that hotel's photos from the booking site were somewhat misleading. To start with, the hotel is squeezed between other buildings (this is very normal for Alpine villages), so do not expect grandeur and vast lawns. Whatever space left is used smartly - there is a lovely outdoors swimming pool and relaxation zone. Rooms you would see on any booking site are within the top price range, simpler rooms look different and have no view. I would recommend to make sure you understand what you're booking to avoid disappointment. Rooms are spacious enough and well equipped. The hotel is impeccably clean. Breakfast was excellent - quite a variety of local breads, cheeses and other gastronomical delicacies. I cannot report anything on evening meals as we dined out. Spa is worth visiting, and massage I had was exceptionally good. Overall, my rating of the property is "excellent" and I will return.
We stayed here in August and we LOVED it! Amazing place! very modern, amazing view, amazing staff and amazing service! They have a heated pool with a beautiful view! I saw ppl doing photo sessions in that pool. One glitch though, No AC. But they can give you a fan. I just opened the window and it was fine.
