Location is simply marvelous . From the balcony you can see nice valley and snow covered hills. Can walk down 10 minutes to reach the small market area. Rooms are lovely, very clean. Food in the restaurant is excellent. There is nothing to complain.
Best place of stay during our Europe Trip. Indian Food specifically Indian Breakfast was great. View of Alps (Mt. Titlis) from the rooms was awesome. Specifically during the Morning with Sunlight over the snow. Different experience while walking in 2 tunnels to get into the hotel. Overall great experience, Ventilation in the rooms need some work. Seen majorly Indians during our stay & it looks to be preferred hotel by Indian Travel Agencies.
They have a weird entrance which involves going through 2 set of tunnels and taking 2 elevators before you reach the lobby. For me this was fascinating as if entering a 18th century castle. The rooms are well maintained and have a beautiful view of the Alps. The staff was very courteous and very helpful. The food was good and I was informed that the owner is Indian and therefore they serve Indian cuisine. They have to include a mini bar and start room service. You can walk to the town for a drink, and we came back to the hotel at midnight and it is safe. The temperature was around 7c at night, this was in early June. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay!
Visited the hotel on 20 th and 21 st May. On reaching the venue; nowhere could see a hotel. Wha I saw only trolley.. we loaded our luggage there, and took some walk to reach a tunnel , designed as a cave almost 100 meter long and at at the end was a lift to take us to level two.. Getting out of the lift , another small walk to another tunnel and again lift ... Finally u reach a nice looking property.. Lavish Reception and lobby.. Grand dining room and well maintained bed and decorated rooms Mine was just facing the famous my titlis.. Food is mainly Indian but spread is great and food quality is very good.. Different concept and location just opposite to Mt titlis , good food and nice rooms .. Nice place to stay ..
We stayed here for one night. We arrived at night at 9.30 and asked our room keys. We had to refresh ourselves but they said sorry we cant give keys. Firdt we should take dinner. We argued if we need to refresh ourself then also they said sorry. How is it their matter if we take dinner or not. Hotel is just like two star. Very ordinary, no facilities. Wifi doesnt work in room. No aminities are like 4 star. Lift stopped at night and they said technician will repaid it. We had to walk 4 floors. Breakfast very very ordinary. No fruits, no omlet. Just like at two star hotel. Room does not have ventilation. If we open balcony gate it is common with all other rooms. We only know how we stayed here. Horrible..
We stayed at this hotel for couple of nights on our tour to switzerland in May. To reach this hotel is an experience itself. The hotel is on a small hill top (typical to most swiss hotels, hamlets, homes) and no cars/buses are allowed up hill beyond a certain point. Visitors have to alight from their vehicle and go through a long tunnel to get to the first lift and once you go the second level opening, take another lift which will get you to hotel lobby. The hotel lobby is huge with outdoor patio which has a breathtaking view of Mt titlis and surrounding peaks. We had warm masala chai for our welcome drink which we sipped while enjoying the view !. The breakfast/dinner area was huge and you have live music during dinner time. You can take part in dancing and singing along with the local troupe. The rooms are not too big but with a view like that who cares about the size of the room !! The bar attache next to the dining area is pretty good. In fact they have multiple dining areas in case there is a huge swell in crowd. When we went in the hotel was overflowing but they managed well. The only issue is with the lift (they have only 2) for the entire building of 4 floors which is grossly inadequate. Overall a pleasant and memorable stay !
With a very strange entrance , you have to take a tunnel & two lifts to reach the reception, the hotel is located at a height . View from the rooms is very good of snow clad mountains. Food is good but the staff is very arrogant & rude. Also for small things like baby's milk they are charging whereas all over the world, three star hotels go out of the way to make babies comfortable without charging .
Stayed here for a week end-Feb/early-Mar. Splendid building that has been tastefully modernized. Magnificent view of Engelberg and the Titlis ski area. Staff is competent and friendly. The rooms are OK but could do with a refresher, in particular the bathrooms. All in good working order and very clean though. The restaurant offers a good buffet, very high-quality ingredients in the food. The cheeses and the ice-cream deserve special mention. Overall a very good stay, we would definitely consider staying here again.
Room facing the valley and Laub was great. Nice breakfast, great Gin & Tonic in the Gin bar, excellent service. Beds a bit hard but thats a matter of taste. All in all a great place to stay for some skiing in Engelberg
