The hotel was beautiful, awesome view of the harbor and Hamilton. Great location and love the shuttle aspect to go to Cocoa Reef to go to Elbow Beach.

Great facilities, close to store, moped rentals and Hamilton. Had a few bugs in our room and they sprayed immediately. Really great week.

We are very picky and tend to think most hotels are not clean enough and poorly run. This was a wonderful exception and we were blown away. Immaculate rooms, comfortable new mattresses, well maintained bathrooms and common areas. Great pool and the water taxi is a wonderful option to hop into town for coffee or a day trip. This was our first trip to this hotel but we are already working on dates for our next visit.

It was very relaxing. The pool is beautiful and serene. My accommodations were more than I expected--nicely appointed with a balcony with a to-die-for view of the harbor. The beach is only a shuttle ride away, and worth every moment. I ate at both restaurants several times and would highly recommend them. Great attention to detail. While they offer free ferry service to Hamilton, it doesn't operate in the afternoon until late in the day and there is no bus service at that time either. Taxi is the only option--fortunately the local cabbies are very pleasant and offer great advice.

The Newstead exceeded our every expectation! Upon arrival to the island, they offered free transfer service from the airport to the hotel, which was a great and convenient perk. We were upgraded to a suite and a bottle of champagne was waiting for us in our room, as we were celebrating our one-year wedding anniversary. The room was beautiful and we had great views of downtown Hamilton, which was only a quick ferry ride (compliments of the Newstead) across the harbor. The staff was great and very accommodating, even giving us a quick ride to the local grocery store or to the beach down the street. We would most definitely stay here again during our next visit to Bermuda!

1, The customer service is too bad. When we got to the hotel at night, we wanted to add a quilt. Because we have three people but there is only one quilt in the suite. They said it was late, there was nobody serve you. It's rediculous. We never met this kind of impolite staff before. 2, There is no beach around this hotel. If you want to get a beach, you should take a car there. They supplied a very very dirty and old jallopy to take us there. 3,About the hotel restaurant tip. It is showed on the receipt that the total fee is including the tip, but it is still showed you should pay extra tip. I know there is no this showing in other hotel. 4, About the suite, there are too many stairs on the same floor. Especially the stairs stand between the bedroom and bathroom. It's dangerous in dark. Overall, It is the worst experience in my life. I will never come to this hotel again.

We went to Bermuda to play golf for three days. It was pre season for the cruise tours so pretty quiet. But the unit was nicely appointed and clean. There is a ferry from the resort that drops you in the center of town. Nice pool area and we had a great time golfing!

Been going to Bermuda at least once over the past 15 years. Most times stay at the Newstead and always enjoy it. Quiet. Easy access to both the beach and Hamilton (by Ferry). Rooms are nice. This time we stayed in the Studio Deluxe in the cottage which is right on the harbour and overlooks Hamilton.

Recently stayed (July 2014) at the Newstead Belmont. They go the extra mile for you. Set up a pick up and drop off at the airport all included in the price. Free shuttle to the beach, and golf course. Pool was very clean and had a n amazing view. Very nice place also included a free water shuttle back and forth to Hamilton. Only wish they could extend the hours of the shuttle and be careful of the overpriced restaurant on premises. Otherwise A+++

The hotel was lovely. Each room had a beautiful view. The staff was very friendly. The pool was beautiful. The restaurants were extremely overpriced and service was slow. Otherwise it was a pleasurable experience.

The restaurant should be managed better. Breakfast took over an hour for cold cereal and a bowl of oatmeal. Tea came after 20 minutes and the milk arrived 10 minutes after that. Just not very efficient, but it's a beautiful property. Better management would make it perfect

A friendly driver shuttles you to the beach, golf course, or Blu's for elegant dining. Hamilton is easily reached riding the hotel's ferry, and it runs at convenient times. After a day of hiking, swimming, and kayaking, the pool becomes the ideal spot to catch a sunset and propose a toast to that special someone. The rum swizzles served are well balanced and refreshing. Rooms tastefully decorated, patios with extensive views, and comfy mattresses invite you to settle in and relax.

This was our second stay at the Newstead. The hotel is convenient to Hamilton, the rail trail, and ferry service. Some rooms, as did ours, offer condo like amenities, including a full kitchen, living room, bedroom and very large balconies and overlooking the harbor. The property is essentially Bermuda's version of a time share. Nice pool, workout room and spa. They have an excellent French restaurant on site, and golf is available up the hill at the Belmont Hills. They do not have a beach on site (a drawback for some), but they do have beach privileges at the Coco Reef, less than 10 minutes away. They provide on demand shuttle service to and from that beach. Staff is friendly and accommodating.

Fantastic enjoyed every minute. Very convenient location to go anywhere in the area. Can see the Hamilton city night lights. Service by the staff was excellent, the restaurant on site vey tasty.

We stayed at Newstead from 9/30 - 10/4 as our "mini-moon", and chose a gem of a hotel. We stayed at the Fairmont Southampton last year where I proposed, and Newstead is on the opposite end of the hotel spectrum. Fairmont is larger, busier, more remote, ocean-facing and with more amenities, whereas Newstead is smaller, more central, more "boutiquey", bay-facing, and with larger, more intimate suites. All rooms have excellent harbor views, and we really enjoyed being in room 410 in the cottages. Our suite was huge with full kitchen, two patios, and a back-yard directly on the water. The suite layout really makes this location for visitors of all types - couples seeking a luxurious room or a family looking to have separate spaces for parents and kids. The full kitchen and proximate store (ask shuttle driver to stop - and tip if so!) make it possible to buy plenty of food/drinks to get you by and perhaps skip a meal a few pricey Bermuda meals out. Great perks were complimentary transportation from and to the airport and the round of golf per day (note - course is very nice but very narrow!). Though the property does not have a beach, guests have full access to the beautiful private beach at Coco Reef which is only a 5 minute hotel shuttle ride away. Staff was exceptionally friendly through and through, with a special nod to Patrica at the front desk and our favorite driver/bellman Eric - both are class acts. Read a few reviews complaining about the ferry to Hamilton's schedule, however we found it prompt, frequent, and quick (you are in downtown Hamilton in 5 minutes). The only items preventing a 5-point rating are a few small touches (certain spots of chipped paint/plaster, dislodged patio screen doors) and a more beautified pool bar area. These are only minor points, and we will definitely staying at Newstead again for future trips.

My husband and I booked the one bedroom suite that had a full kitchen. We were able to bring our own food which helped us to economize. The suite was immaculate, the staff was friendly and thorough in cleaning the suite. There was access to a free ferry to take you to Hamilton City and a shuttle bus to take you to the beach and golf course. An infinity pool added to the amenities. To wake up each morning to the view of the ocean and have access to a spa, tennis court and gym made the stay unforgettable. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful rooms, great views over the harbour and staff that goes above and beyond. We would not hesitate to go back to this wonderful spot. Rooms were well appointed and the kitchen had everything you would need to cook a gourmet meal. but don't bother because the meals in the restaurant are over the top!!

We've stayed here before. Don't know why the restaurant service was so slow, but breakfast could take up to 45 minutes. That's ridiculous for eggs and cereal! The room is very nice, but the one bedroom suite is comfortable. Feels like maybe the hotel was understaffed this trip. Hope for better things next time. Golf, as always, was great!

Excellent hotel. We had a wonderful vacation, will be back with my family.

We stayed here before and liked it very much: conveniently located with the great view, very clean with very helpful and pleasant staff. This time we booked entry level room as the last time and were very surprised that got upgraded to one bedroom suit. It We still don't know the reason. It was in fact our 30th anniversary, but no one possibly could know about it. It was a treat! It is almost 1000 sf with panoramic view of the Hamilton harbor with tree balconies, full kitchen, two bathrooms and everything you could possibly think about. Had best time. Will be back!
