Once the water became available it was fine. Guests were compensated for the inconvenience.

Overall a great property for families with children. Beds have a scoop in them from over use, pool is aging and tiles are broken in the bathrooms, but it is clean and well taken care of for a property without any infrastructure investment.

Everything was wonderful, the only thing is there could be more entertainment at night.

The Fairmont Southampton was my family's home for 5 days recently on our first trip to Bermuda. Beautiful views from each room, transportation assistance, beach access, spa - everything fantastic. More than anything, the Concierge staff made all the difference to us, since our group aged 24-85. Very friendly and knowledgeable, and all their dining recommendations were spot on. One regret, not having one more meal at the Waterlot. It was still a bit off-season, so some restaurants and shops were closed.

My wife and i returned after 30 years and found that the renovations made the visit excellent. Not all was perfect but when issues were raised the staff responded with kindness and professionalism. The hotel was great but expensive.

location is perfect for the whole island...need more options to get around as buses and other ferries don't run enough or go on "interrupted service" Add more ferry runs to the west end and to the east end directly from the hotel and more small buses

Overall we loved our stay and are thinking about coming back. It's one of the best places to stay with kids on Bermuda islands, for sure: all the activities, kid's zone, pools and beach, the ferry going to the city and back - our daughter loved it and it made it easy to fill our time with things to do. The hotel staff is just OK, which is usual for the place were all the tips are included. Concierges did not make reservations they promised (and confirmed), the room was cleaned rather modestly and so on.

We stayed 7 days; played golf 4 days, used the pool 3 times. The my had a great experience at the Spa.

A return visit to celebrate mutual birthdays. We really enjoyed the activities especially the water aerobics in the lovely pool. Weather was fine every day except the day we left when it rained, The food was delicious at each of the restaurants and the grounds are lovely. We took the free ferry to Hamilton one night and buses to St. George's where we walked and walked to see all the old buildings and the fort. The staff treat you like honored and welcomed guests. Wish we could spend a month there.

Nice location, convenient to most attractions. Restaurants were good.

The views are gorgeous! We had delicious meals all around. The spa was lovely! We also really enjoyed the pool and hot tubs! We would go back in a minute!

We had initially booked the Hamilton Princess by Fairmont, but were disappointed that it was so far from the beach, so we decided to switch to the Fairmont Southampton. This was a great decision as the Fairmont Southampton exceeded our expectations. I had read reviews that it was not well-renovated, but although some of the hotel decorations seem somewhat dated, our room was recently renovated and beautiful, with wonderful ocean views. A shuttle runs every 5-10 minutes down to the beach, which was a beautiful beach (although we found that the public beach immediately next to the hotel beach was even more beautiful -- this is only a 5 minute walk away). The hotel's pool could use a renovation, but it was large and the water was warm. There are numerous restaurants available at the hotel, which is good because it is very far from town, which is the biggest problem. But if you are looking for a place to stay close to the beach, as we were, the Fairmont Southampton is a good choice. It can be expensive depending on when you book though.

Upon arrival we were stunned to find the property was not on the beach and a shuttle was required to get there. This is not what we were told when we called the property directly two times prior to our trip. I quote “the beach is two minutes outside your door.” When I mentioned this at check in I was dismissed with the only explanation that the people we spoke with were probably confused. While the lobby, restaurants and our room was lovely, the other areas of the hotel were very run down. This was particularly true of the outdoor pool area. Further the pool refreshment area closes at 5:00 which is ridiculous for a resort hotel. Not a staff person can be found after 5:00.

Very nice facility. Family friendly. Very busy when we were there.

Ocean view room is accurate in that Bermuda is an ISLAND and the hotel is on top of a hill...walls are paper thin, you can hear every word people next to you say, every tv show they watch, everything...staff is not overly helpful...beach is nice, staff on the beach are great, diving staff is excellent...overall worth staying elsewhere...

The hotel is dated. Furniture is provably 20 yrs old. In fact we sat in a broken chair during lunch. Additionally, hiyel is too big and crowded. Good luck getting a seat near the pool or a good chair at the beach. However, the staff was very friendly and the food was decent.

The Fairmont is a nice property and has a nice system in place to ensure your stay is complete. With that being said, there is little night life on site and the one pool is small.

What a great disappointment! This hotel is the OPPOSITE of a relaxing getaway. The hotel is HUGE and seemed at capacity during our stay (end of July/early August). This might be tolerable if the hotel was able to handle all the guests, but it could not. Not sure how many rooms it has, but one staff person told us there can be up to 1500 guests at a time. The wait for check-in and -out was very long--over 30 minutes. There is only one bank of four elevators to serve the whole hotel. I saw many full elevators with people waiting for several elevators to pass before they could get in. Because of the hotel's location, offsite eating is not a good option unless you take an expensive cab ride. There are a handful of restaurants on site and they were jammed packed. There was an hour wait for breakfast and dinner if you didn't have a reservation. We saw numerous frustrated guests vent at the hotel staff because of the long waits. The prices are outrageous. I overheard one guest call it the "Fairmont Rule"-- whatever you think something costs, double it. You can expect to pay $15 for 3 pancakes and $13 for a side of 2 eggs for breakfast. The pool is small and teeming with people--no room to swim, you can only stand in one spot. If you are looking for a vacation that involves lots people, outrageous prices, overwhelmed staff and advance planning to eat, you should go to the Fairmont Southampton. Those looking to relax should go elsewhere. Beautiful beach though.

Excellent experience, private beach, ocean resturant top quality. Service is excellent. Hotel rate very reasonable for the quality. Transportation ample and free. Dive shop on site. Tennis court and golf course readily available.

We've stayed at two other resorts in the past and by far this is the best.

Thank you very much for providing such detailed feedback on your family's visit to the Fairmont Southampton. Needless to say we were delighted to learn that overall you enjoyed your stay despite the less than satisfactory housekeeping service you received for which we sincerely apologise. We are particularly thrilled that your family enjoyed the special events over the Christmas season. A great deal of planning goes into putting these events together and our colleagues are extremely pleased to know that all their efforts were so appreciated. Kind regards.
