We stayed for 3 nights and it was amazing. We did not leave the resort. The weather was sunny each day. The ocean was beautiful. This is paradise. The staff was exceptional.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon July 2017. Elbow Beach Resort is one of the few resorts on the beach. The beach is spectacular! Beach chairs and towels await you and the beach is well maintained. The actual hotel only has the lobby open because they are renovating the rooms. We stayed in one of cottages. The rooms were clean and modern. Housekeeping comes in the morning and evening for turn down service. Everything was restocked and tidied up each time. EVERYONE was so friendly, accommodating, and professional! The property is gorgeous with ocean and garden views and is very well maintained. We rented a scooter on property and toured the island. The resort is in the middle of the island; it's in a great location for sightseeing. The food at Mickeys and Seabreezes was so tasty! The prices are a little expensive but everything in Bermuda is pricey. We also ate at The Swizzle just a few minutes west of the resort; and in Hamilton, only 5-10 minutes from the hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone!!!

The beach is gorgeous, facilities are in need of some updating but love the location and staff are all incredibly friendly. Clean, bed comfortable, nice towels and robes too. Nice ocean view from most rooms. It is on a hill so be prepared to walk /climb or wait for golf cart ride. We chose to hoof it for the exercise and didn't mind it.

The rooms are clean and nice. The view is phenomenal. The staff is super nice (Stephan at Mickey is the best!). You can't ask for more. I love this hotel.

Room 657 was full of Cockroaches. Bathroom sink was bocked and was not draining.

Just a little pricey food was excellent staff was very friendly the weather was not so great but overall had a great time beautiful island

Great experience and location, attentive staff, kid friendly

The restaurants were nice and food was very, very good- but pricey. The bed was really comfy, the size of the room was nice, loved the nespresso machine and funny but my husband thought the iron was fantastic. They are working on sprucing up the whole resort, but the process seems like it may take a while. Our room interior was updated and pretty clean but they seem to forget that at a beach resort it takes a lot more time and effort to maintain, keep clean and not musty smelling. In the restaurant areas they did a phenomenal job at this but rooms really need bit more attention to detail. The exterior and grounds need more attention and maintenance as well. I am sure if they follow through with the same level of updating, cleaning and maintenance they have done near the restaurants and some areas of the main building it will be a great place when they are done. Would consider staying here again... overall seems much nicer than most other options on the island. The beach area was amazing....

We were very pleased with our stay at Elbow beach. The restaurants on property were very expensive. I would highly reccomend a meal at mickeys. The staff at mickeys was wonderful, for lunch and dinner. Our room was beautiful and comfortable! Most of the staff was friendly and welcoming, especially the front desk.

Loved Bermuda. Nicest most friendliest people most beautiful beach with clear Aqua blue water!

The room and beach were great, but the main hotel is only partially opened. Outside areas were a little run-down. The workout area was small and some equipment was not fully functional. The restaurants, at the beach, are run by a concessionaire. For the price paid, we were somewhat disappointed in the quality of the overall resort.

The grounds are beautiful, the beach magnificent. Our clean and well furnished ocean-view room had an outstanding view of the grounds and ocean. The service was excellent and the staff friendly. The staff is very helpful and ensures your stay is as pleasant and easy as possible. We never had a bad meal at any of the resort restaurants. Obtaining transportation (bus, taxi) to Hamilton and Royal Dockyards was easy. We spent a lot of time on the private beach - it was just too beatiful not to. A special thanks to our beach-side server, Zoltan. He was very attentive. We never had to wait long for service and he always made sure we always had ice for our drinks. We will return to Elbow Beach with more of our family in the future. This is the spot to be.

Room was amazing, clean and comfortable. View from honeysuckle room facing beach was gorgeous. Cleaning staff was friendly and made us feel welcome. Continued to check to see if we needed anything at all. Staff at front desk was just ok. Bell service for taxi set ups was hit or miss. Cranky at times. Our personal concierge was nowhere to be found, but the person in lobby was very helpful. I would stay again.

Onsite food was great. Easy walk to the private beach. And easy trip into Hamilton for shopping and food

Lovely to see and hear the ocean from our room and to be able to walk down to the beach within minutes as most other resorts are not directly on the beach and require shuttles. The restaurants were great with delicious food (awesome fish sandwich at mickeys for lunch) and also directly on the beach. Staff was super helpful and all incredibly friendly. The pool area could use some updating but almost provides a retro chic vibe. Would highly recommend!

Fantastic hotel. Staff is friendly and courteous. My favorite place to vacation. Late night bar was not open during our lady visit which was a little disappointing but all in all the best!

We had a fun time in Bermuda. The Beach doesn't get any nicer than this. We did most of our activities (jet skiing, helmet diving, swim with the dolphins) offsite. Main hotel and overall facilities need to be spruced up. Rooms themselves were very nice. We had ocean front rooms very close to the beach. Hotel seems to be in the midst of some transition and not up to full speed. Beach restaurants were above average. Recommended if you want a nice quiet beach weekend.

If you long for High teas and echoes of the Old British-Bermudian way of life The Elbow Beach is not for you. The actual hotel stands empty. Ominously awaiting refurbishment, or is it destruction? The once gloriously bustling lobby is dimly lit and slightly seedy. The old wood paneled bar is still there but there is no cheery barman to pour you your favourite single malt or rum swizzle. Now, in its place, there is a pool table. Gone are the high teas on the terrace. Gone are the shops where you could buy anything from Bermuda shorts to postcards. Everything slightly sad and distressed and it reminds one of “The Shining”. Jack Torrance would have been at home here. We arrived and it was raining. In the evening, we sat in the Tapas Bar, the rain leaking though the roof, only to be harangued by the Indonesian wait staff. It eerily reminded me of a scene in “Blade Runner” the staff running back and forth in the rain from the kitchen to the restaurant covering the food with whatever to prevent the rain from soaking into the mediocre food. One thing remains constant, the wonderful bell staff. The same men that have been there since I started coming over ten years ago. Some of these men have put over twenty years of service into Elbow Beach. It didn’t seem right to ask them what they thought of the new regime. But I’ll tell you “Not much!”

What a shame. The people, location and food are great. The facilities are degrading as in no one in the main hotel and as a result there are not many activities to do other than eat and drink (and sun yourself on the fabulous beach of course). But when it rains you are stuck

The good: the beach is one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. Sand is soft and clean. Ocean is not rough so you can actually swim in the water. Fish swim between your legs. You can swim right off the shore. The hotel provides some water boards, snorkeling equipment, and other water rafts. There is a restaurant on the beach as well a table service to the beach itself. Hotel also provides free bottled water at the beach. The main part of the hotel is closed, this can either be good or bad. It means that the hotel at times feels deserted and empty. this also means that you do not have to fight over finding a spot by the pool or the beach. You can always get a seat at the restaurant. But it also means that sometimes you feel like the hotel has been abandoned. The buildings are also old, so problems may crop up here and there. Restaurants are good but expensive (we heard this complaint from other travelers at other Bermuda hotels). the bad: They messed up our room and our first day pretty badly. My husband called ahead to confirm with the hotel that we would have a king sized bed, champagne and strawberries as a surprise to me for our wedding anniversary. We walked into a room with 2 tiny double beds and no champagne or strawberries. The hotel was fully booked so they could not fix this. And this was the biggest problem with the hotel- especially a hotel under the Mandarin Oriental name- the staff's response. They didn't offer anything as an apology or in the way of fixing the problem. The water was shut off our room on our third day for 2 hours from 5:30-7:30, during the time everyone was getting ready for the night out. Again, the response was nonexistent. We found out on our own that there are extra showers in the cabana- not through the front desk. The front desk at the hotel provided the poorest service overall. The staff at the restaurants were more accommodating though with the mandatory gratuity, you could see that the staff was not trying as hard- there was no incentive to. This hotel is also very kid friendly (our trip was in August). There were a ton of trips. This makes it not as romantic as a couples only or adults only resort. Overall, our stay was good but not as luxurious or pampering as one would expect from a Mandarin hotel.
