The Mandala Suites is an apartment-style hotel in a very good location, near Sentra Berlin Mitte. You will have immediate access to anything you desire from here. The hotel has a minimalistic reception/front desk service that is not open around the clock. The hotel is integrated into a building along with other businesses and venues, but this does not cause any inconvenience in any way. The staff was very friendly and forthcoming. The room was BIG! Separate living room and kitchenette is very convenient. Excellent cleanliness and preparation, without anything unnecessary. Great value for money. Nice for both a few nights but also a long-term stay. Would definitely stay here again!
The location is great at the very centre of the city with a metro station that is on two main lines (east-west and N/S. Flats are well designed with a nice bed and comfortable furniture. Nice bathroom and dressing with a well equipped small kitchen that allows you to cook in the evening (though we didn't do it). The breakfast at 8th floor is stocked with beautifully arranged cups of all types of salads, fruits in a great variety of tastes, several types of bread, sausages, cheese. You're able to really brunch: though the quantities are small, the cups are refilled and the place is gorgeous, commanding a stunning view to the west (Potsdamer Platz, Siegesaüle, Tiergarten etc) with a beautiful light. The service is very smiling and helpful and the breakfast definitely adds to the "Berlin experience" as it helps you start under the best conditions a great day... The only (real) disappointment was the increased price the hotel imposed on us on the 5th night (when booking from Paris). We had already booked 4 nights 12 persons and prepaid and had to pay a a hefty additional on the 5th night 5 of us had to book few days before our arrival as AIR BERLIN went bankrupt and we couldn't get any flight back before the day after. In any other place of high standing we know (and we travel quite a lot) the management would have extended a similar price as they don't need to change the beds and have only marginal costs. They did a very little commercial effort and reduced the extended price by 20 EUR (ending in an extra cost of 20 EUR which is...as Germans say "seer kleinig"°). his was all the more shocking as we found reduced prices on booking.com the day we left, that were significantly lower for a single suite than the price we paid (we prepaid 6). Yet we spent an overall excellent stay, hence the 5 stars. Ein wenig Grosszügigkeit would be highly welcomed to really be at high standards.
We recently stayed for four nights in a business suite at the Mandala Suites. They are in a perfect location for exploring Berlin, on Friedrichstraße, between Checkpoint Charlie and the Brandenburg Gate. An underground train stop is almost outside. Our suite was spacious and well equipped, with a sitting room, kitchen and a bedroom with a very comfortable bed. It had two balconies, overlooking a small residential square and was very quiet for somewhere so central. The whole suite was spotless and attractively furnished. It was serviced like a hotel, cleaned every day, with clean towels and the mini bar restocked. The breakfast room was on the top floor with a view of Berlin. There was an excellent buffet selection, from cereals ,fruit, smoked salmon, meats, cheeses, pastries and breads. It was all delicious and replenished frequently. Service was excellent. The reception is not always manned, but the staff were polite and helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend the Mandala Suites to anyone staying in Berlin.
I had booked a management suite. It was a very big room, a big hallway, a small walk-in closet, a safe, a bathroom and a small kitchen. It was very convenient, clean and very quiet. The location was good with a lot of shops (including a supermarket) nearby. I would certainly recommend these apartments. I did not use breakfast. A minor issue: the microwave was complicated to use (and no instructions or anything). Also: there is no 24/7 reception available. This was not a problem for me but might be good to know. Wifi was good. There was a small balcony but this was a bit disappointing. More like a iron box hanging from the window than a real balcony. Scary to stand on since you could see through the floor to the street.
We loved the Mandala Suites. Our room (Management Suite) was huge, quiet, tastefully decorated with a good size kitchen and bathroom, plus 2 massive walk in robes and an entry hall that could almost be another room. A large bank of floor to ceiling windows spanned from one wall to the other, making it really light and airy, but with heavy curtains that could be pulled across for sleeping. Mandala Suites are located in a safe and quiet area which was really central for our needs, easy to walk to places but right by Stadmitte underground if required. We found restaurants and cafes within a very short walk. It is an all suite property without all the extra facilities of a hotel, however it was everything we needed at a reasonable price. They do offer breakfast but having a kitchen we made our own. If I return to Berlin I would definitely stay here again.
We had two suites. One was two rooms, the other a very large junior suite. Full kitchen, very up to date and in great shape. Nothing to complain about except the temperature. In early October, with outdoor temperatures in the 40s and 50s, they didn't turn on the heat. But housekeeping opened all the windows. So when we got back from a day of sightseeing it was very cold (the low 60s) and no way to warm it up. We asked that housekeeping not open the windows, but to no avail. The location is great. The Statdmitte underground (lines U2 and U6) is right outside. Many good restaurants nearby. This is a low service hotel (no restaurant, no 24 hour front desk) which keeps the room rate down. This was fine except the breakfast was a pretty limited cold buffet that may not be worth 18 Euros.
What a gem. Great place to stay. Very private and quiet and hidden away from the world. Apartment was huge and very well appointed. Eat out or self cater. Breakfast on top level a delight. Located very close to Unter Den Linden and Historic Berlin and all amenities. Better than many 5 star hotels .
Stayed here for four nights in a one-bedroom apartment on the fifth floor. The room was perfect for our requirements, a cot was requested and ready on arrival. Our room faced onto a road, however we weren’t disturbed by road noise, the bed was massive and very comfortable. The hotel is close to lots of attractions, only a few blocks from Checkpoint Charlie and two different subway stations. The room was well equipped, only missing an oven from the kitchen. If you are staying in the hotel be aware the only English channels on the tv are news channels, but then again plenty to do instead of staying in. Plenty of places to eat locally, mainly coffee shops, plus a great bar/restaurant under the hotel, plus a couple of supermarkets close by.
We stayed 6 nights in this large apartment. It had a completely separate lobby area, coat room and living area. The bathroom and bedroom were also spacious. It's big enough to live in permanently! We noticed the really good quality towels in the bathroom (large, fluffy, white) and sheets on the beds - high thread count which were a cut above most hotels. The kitchenette only had very basic equipment but we were able to request a toaster - something we miss when travelling. There is a shared laundry but as it was only open at restricted times we didn't use it. The rooms were made up each day and on most days we were left fresh organic personal products which we enjoyed using. It was spotlessly clean in quite a posh area of Berlin with beautiful shops, restaurants and supermarkets in our street. The underground train was a 1 minute walk down our street. We never once used a taxi! (We bought the ABC Berlin Welcome Card and this took us everywhere without us having to buy tickets each day or worry about validating them after the first time. It also got us discounted entry into museums, discounted audio guides and cheaper Segway and bike tours. We also caught the train out to the shopping outlet and this train journey was also included.) The only disappointing aspect of this stay was that the wifi rarely worked (we couldn't even receive or send emails) and the reception staff were unsympathetic and unwilling to help us book a tour we wanted. Instead they redirected us to the shared lounge to use the 2 laptops there ...when they didn't work either they just apologised and said try later. It didn't get any better over the week so we had to use our purchased European SIM cards. We would certainly recommend these apartments but suggest you don't rely on the wifi or the staff in the lobby.
A very modern and exceptionally large apartment in a great central location that was better value than hotels and Airbnb apartments in the same price range. Beautifully appointed with quality fittings and an abundance of space. Looked exactly as depicted in the website pictures. Was blissfully quiet with the double glazed windows and thick entrance door. With the UBahn station right across the road, multitude of nearby cafes and 2 large supermarkets close by, the location was superb. Central ironing facilities was a minor inconvenience, but this was a restriction imposed by the building owner (irons not allowed in individual apartments) and not the apartment owners themselves. Really cannot fault this stay and would highly recommend this to anyone with a similar budget (we paid around A$230/night). Was very impressed and still finding the value for money quite hard to believe in such a city as Berlin.
