Close to the metro station. Room comfortable and clean. Nice staff. Good breakfast. Perfect stay with a voucher Smartbox. We added an extra night at a convenient price. We are very satisfied! Thank you very much!
I'll start with the best - the service here is spectacular. Everyone I've encountered has been bright and friendly, helpful, and generally wonderful. The food was very good. The rooms are decent. They're showing their age a bit but are clean, good-sized, and seem about average for the price. The location is pretty out of the way, but it is very near an s-bahn station which makes things much easier. The internet connection however... wow. Absolutely horrific. Half the time you can't connect at all. I was told there were too many connections to the server. When you can get on, it's incredibly slow. It took me 15 minutes just to log into gmail and check a couple e-mails. This hotel is good if you're not the type to spend much time online, but if you need a decent connection for anything I'd stay elsewhere.
My mom and I ended up at this hotel because every other hotel was booked! So don't leave booking a hotel in Berlin for last minute especially in peak season. The room size was good and the staff were friendly, some places at the hotel had a musky smell and the decor seems dated. It is a bit far away from the popular spots but the metro is a 5 minute walk away. There is also a supermarket across the road which I quite enjoyed.
Good breakfast, clean and comfortable rooms. Location is near a train station, but in a ugly zone far from the city center. Hotel charge us an additional tax of 2,50€ per couple because we pay each room separately...
Our room was for for and it was really good, the bathroom was clean and everything was OK. It reminded me of hostel cause most of the rooms/apartments are with a lot of beds and shared bathroom. It was 3 minutes away from Sban and its easy to get anywhere from there by public transport. Its close to the party neighbourhood. Overall it was Ok.
We checked in as a tour group who had reserved a specific number of rooms. When we arrived we were told to wait outside. Another tour group arrived and was told to come on in. We insisted that we be helped first. The front desk receptionist was rude and crammed some of our group into a larger room than we booked, so they could sell a single room (which had beds for 4). Basically making a few extra euros. My card was charged an incorrect amount and after many discussions and run around with the front desk staff, the charges were corrected. The hotel itself was adequate and comfortable. The showers were cold every day, although if you caught the shower at the right time it was warm. The metro was within 5 minutes walking distance which wasn't too bad. The bartender was helpful and gave us the first ice that we had gotten during our 15 day trip. This hotel just had the feel of "East Berlin".
We had a very bad experience at this hotel today, and will definitely never stay there again. The room was clean and the facilities were as expected. The wifi was sometimes slow. The staff however, did not make us feel welcome in this hotel. A few minutes late for breakfast and we were put on the spot by a staff member. Checkout was until 12.00, so we reached the front desk at exactly 12 o'clock and my husband started loading the luggage in the car while I proceeded to check out. We needed the key card, which my husband had in his pocket, so we waited for him to come back. After a minute, he gave me the card. Meanwhile, the staff member was talking on the phone behind the desk. When he was done, I gave him the card, and he told me to pay 20 euros for late check out. It was 5 past 12. Really? 20 euros for 5 minutes? We both tried to tell him that we were at the front desk at 12.00, and he had been on the phone for a few minutes. Still we had to pay. I gave him my Dutch debit card, which had worked just fine in Berlin for 3 days. The machine didn't take my card so the staff member asked for a different payment method, which we didn't have at that time. We hadn't expected to need more cash that day. I told him that in a normal tone. "Then I will call the police" was his answer. From two customers who were willing to pay, we suddenly felt like criminals. Great way to treat your guests, Aga's... As my husband walked to the car to search for some cash, I broke down and started crying. I felt very degraded, having the police called on me for something that wasnt my fault. Somehow my emotional state changed the staff member's attitude. He told me he would pay the money out of his own pocket. Suddenly the police were not needed anymore? For me, the damage was already done. Aga's, never again!
We stayed here during an interrail trip, we chose it because there weren't hostels avaiable and it was low budget hotel (not really 100€ person 2 nights). The price would have been right if the hotel wasnt 20 mins train to the city center. Anyway, the biggest dissapointmet was the heater, which was unable to keep shower's water with a steady temperature, without touching anything it would change from polar cold to a horrible hot. The wifi wouldn't work either, and altough i would have liked to say how nice the recepcionist was, this is not possible because altough he tried to solve this problem, he was really rude when told us that drinking in our rooms wasnt allowed altough it wasn't mentioned to us before. He was really rude, and didnt care about my wifi problem for some time. So definitely next time i come to berlin i hope not to stay at a place at dissapointkng like this one.
Clean room, comfortable bed. Couldn't hear traffic at all, despite being on main road. Full length mirror! Suitcase stand. And hairdryer in bathroom, which also had a nice wide mirror. Bathroom had a quiet fan. Plenty of hooks for coats by room's entrance. Nicely decorated. Solid electronic door lock. All in good condition and clean: nothing not working; nothing unfixed or falling off. Helpful and friendly staff. Really close to both a tram and a S station that goes straight through the center of the city. In fact despite being in Zone B, it was really easy to get in and out of the city. Obviously if you want to be in the city center this is not for you. But I was working for a few days in the Zoological Gardens and it was reasonably quick and comfortable to get in via train. And plenty of trains on the way back. The breakfasts were ok. I didn't see the option for a cooked breakfast but there could have been one, but there was a really good selection of rolls, cheese, cereals, and also some scrambled egg, I think and plenty of things I didn't try. And there was juice and coffee. Perhaps not quite as big a spread as some of the breakfast I have seen but I was fine with it. I didn't try the restaurant in the evening so can't comment on that. Bar was open to about 11 but I got a beer after that no problem. I checked in at 1am too without a problem. I was there for four nights and am really glad I picked it.
This hotel is clean, the rooms are a good size, it's close to the S-Bahn station which gets you into the city centre in less than 20 minutes. The hotel staff are friendly and for the price I don't think you can get better.
