The hotel location was good and the room was clean on arrival. Very basic facilities in the room. Having stayed for three nights there was little evidence of housekeeping - dirty cups not cleared away, bathroom not tidied or cleaned. There was one complimentary bottle of water in the room on arrival but no replacement on day 2 or day 3. No air conditioning and not much in the way of lighting - two bedside lights and a bathroom light. There was a dangerous step up into the bathroom from a passage with no lighting on which I nearly tripped up in the middle of the night. I will not be staying at this hotel again and would not recommend this hotel. In fact I stayed in another of this chain's hotels in New York recently and it was almost as bad there!
It was a good hotel to rest, clean and with a big room and bathroom. The mornings receptionist was so kind and really really sexy! She recommended us a disco club called Maxim but she didn't come because she had to work early... To summarize the opinion: I'd recommend the hotel
No aircon and the windows don't open properly so I was bitten about 8 times by mosquitos. No proper lighting, all you have is your bedside light and the bathroom light so nearly impossible to get ready at night. There was also a very dangerous step going up to the bathroom with no warning sign which I actually cracked my nail on. Female members of staff were lovely and helpful, the one male member of staff I met was very rude; on arrival he asked me to fill out paperwork, when I asked which part of the form I needed to fill, his response was "its in English so you can read it". He also watched as I struggled with my bags while filling out the form, not once offering to help. Generally very disappointed in this hotel and would NOT recommend. DO NOT waste your money Side note; the water/bathroom had a very strange smell as well
My boyfriend had to sleep one the floor the first night cause the hotel had not a baby bed for our one year old child!
Reasonably priced but rundown. Staff seemed very uninterested in hospitality. Breakfast & WiFi below average.
This is the worst Tryp hotel I have been to. Rude staff, dirty rooms, and bathroom (stains on the carpet, walls, and ceiling?!) , spotty internet which goes down all the time, and a hotel with amenities that don't work or function. Save yourself the trouble and book any other other hotels in the area and your better off.
As I always state in my reviews, European hotel rooms are typically much smaller than their American cousins. However, this room was a bit larger than is the norm. A decent amount of outlets were available (surprise) and overall the room was clean and well appointed. The building is older and amazingly there was plenty of parking (free) on the street. We paid to park in the garage but the street was much more convenient. You are a couple of blocks from Kaiser Wilhelm church, the Zoo and the Tiergarten. Its a bit of a hike to the Victory Column but definitely walkable. The staff here was very friendly and helpful and there is a terrific restaurant next door. The level of quiet here was surprising. Being in the middle of the city we were please that the noise level was non-existent. Overall we were pleased with this hotel, and for the price its a very good deal. We would stay here again and we would recommend this hotel to friends and family. A few caveats. WiFi is for 3 devices only so watch out what you connect with. Parking in the garage is 15 Euros per night and most of the shops in the area close promptly at 6 or 7.
The hotel is old, reception, restaurant and rooms are small . Wifi connection is good , but problem with the login, password procedures which I receive from the reception. The only advantage is close to the center in a walking distance and surrounded with many restaurants , cafe , shops and supermarkets .
Reception Staff and management are wonderfully friendly and helpful. Restaurant is great for breakfast and staff are accommodating. The rooms however are very tired and old and need a facelift. Great Italian restaurant next door!
Stayed in this hotel February 2017 for a midweek break to see Berlin. Can't fault the rooms as they were very clean and spacious, with very comfortable beds. Not to mention a really good shower (better than my shower at home). Very friendly receptionist staff who really did go the extra mile for you with giving directions etc. Special mention to the younger woman with blonde hair who was great! Hotel also has a sauna on offer in basement which again was super clean just let reception know 30 mins before you would like to use and they will switch it on for you. Only reason that I am giving the hotel a 4* rating is the fact that their are no tea/coffee making facilities in rooms, and the location isn't the best for commuting to centre of Berlin. But train station is nearby.
