Check in was not specified - I checked in at 13:30. Room 108 had essential things needed for my short stay, the beds were comfy and the mattress was an average thickness. The room had a TV, Free safe deposit box, a free bottle of water and even a shoe horn, slippers and a sewing kit. The bathroom had a walk in shower and was spacious. Shower gel and shampoo were also provided. The location was great. Only 5 minutes walk to the nearest subway station and only 5 minutes more on that to one of the main stations where you can connect to other lines. The location of the hotel is right next to the memorial for the Berlin Wall. Reception were very helpful in finding what train I needed to get back to the airport. I would go back here for another stay as the room met everything in needed as a temporary base to do my sightseeing.
Pretty new, amazing little hotel, right next to the Memorial of the Fall of the the Berlin Wall. Good size rooms, nice furniture and historic pictures of the Wall. Some rooms with big, furnished balconies,, ashtrays and view on the garden restaurant. Plenty of free parking on the street. Only a few miles from the Alexander Square and Berlin Center.
The place is clean, but the room is as basic as can be. No carpet. The floor looks like it's been painted with industrial floor paint. Bathroom is scruffy, missing grout etc. It's ok, but you wouldn't want to bring your significant other here.
Dear Hotel Grenzfall, Everything was so good and comfotable, I felt myself very well in the Hotel. Only one thing what could be giving more comfortable the rooms. the white transparency curtain front of the windows. Very good idea the different colors of the floors. I wish lot of guest for you :-) Best regards, Szilárd Bottyán Hungary
Nice hotel in a nice quiet location. Friendly staff very helpful, and restaurant very accommodating. Within touching distance of Wall and memorials, and a good walk down to busier Alexanderplatz, Museums etc.
Was a nice stay and a caring welcome. Loved the little book on the bedside table. I will be back.i was offers a free Prosecco for breakfast that made an easy start into the weekend in Berlin. Best Thomas
We stayed there with my colleagues in 2015 during our first visit in Berlin. The hotel itself has a great location - it's not far from the central part of Berlin (Brandenburger Tor is in 15-20 minutes of walking). The building itself might remind somebody from Russia an atmosphere of his/her home town - it's an interesting but weird feeling that you're in Germany, but there are lots of block buildings which are very popular in Moscow and other Russian cities :) Anyway, I really enjoyed the design of interiors very much - hotel uses a large variety of colours which reminded me about the spring and summer. The service was great - our rooms were always clean and fresh, and we've got tasty breakfasts there. The personnel was always ready to help with different questions and problems - they helped us to get extra WiFi passwords and order a taxi quickly.
Room for wheelchair with a very large bathroom. Bed comfortable. Nice garden with a lot of little places where you can drink or eat. Staff very friendly. Near from accessible transports (tram, S.Bahn and U.Bahn) Restaurant a little expensive but good.
We have visited many hotels in Berlin in recent years and we really like it here. It's very clean and modern with huge fabulous black and white photos of the Berlin Wall in the past on the corridor walls and in the room. The breakfasts were very good but the big plus point is how friendly and welcoming the staff are here, offering their help without us having to ask. Tea/coffee making facilities in the room would have been good but otherwise all was fine. We will definitely stay here again in the future.
We stayed here for a few days at the end of June and would rate it as just "ok." Compared to other European hotels in the same price range, it is somewhat newer and has modern furniture. But desperately needs air con. Our room was extremely warm as it was around 90F while we were there and just one small fan in the room. Housekeeping shuts the windows during the day (understandably for bugs) making it a very unpleasant temperature on any hot day. Floors are laminate, no carpets or rugs, very cold and bare. No fridge, but does provide a safe, soap, hairdryer. Towels were awful, small, thin. Staff was not very friendly or helpful. Also, construction and smoking construction workers were working super early every morning and smoke would come into our room. Not exactly how I wanted to be woken on my vacation. Pros- very close to metro and tram stops and easy to find. Rooms are big size compared to other european hotels.
