Lovely hotel thats well located in Berlin, right on the U-Bahn U9 line so everuthibg is easily accessable. its in a quiet area in the city. staff were fantastic and very friendly and helpful. rooms are small but confortable. very clean too
If you are the type of tourist like us, who need a clean and sufficiently well appointed room just to take a shower and lay down your head on a comfortable bed after a hectic day of site seeing, this is the best place in Berlin. I can't rate 5 stars, as the hotel is 4 stars. Otherwise, it was a pleasant experience of typical German efficiency, but smiling & helpful service, though one reads Germans are glum. The hotel is about 100M from Güntzelstraße metro station so it is not necessary to hail a taxi for every outing, even to go to the airport or main rail station - with luggage. We pre-booked barely 2 days earlier through Booking.com for €148 for 2 persons for 2 nights. One pays at checking in. Breakfast was extra at €12 per day per head, but in Berlin, who eats breakfast in hotel? The toiletry was standard good. Forgot your toothbrush or shaving razor? Ask at the Reception and they will be pleased to offer you a sealed tourist pack, at no cost. A notice to this effect is posted in the room. The biggest advantages are the good air conditioning. The WiFi was good even inside the room. These 2 are sore points with us for very many tourist hotels in Europe, who seem to think Europe is a cold country, so why should guests like to sleep in 22℃? In most other hotels (and the ship to Tallinn, Estonia) there is just a weak WiFi, that too limited at the reception area. No negative points? Just 2. There is no mini-fridge in the room, though there is a space for it. Besides, if you are a tea drinker, as in 95% hotels around the world, the stock in the room is Ceylon tea or worse. Solution is just across the road. At a delicatessen one can buy decent tea, also milk and sugar. One hint - the world does not seem to know, India produces tea. One needs to ask for Darjeeling tea and all is safe and comfortable.
Hotel is situated in a very nice area and not far from the center. Beds are comfortable but the rest is outdated : bathroom, the room itself, hallways, reception and elevators. There was a smell of sigarettes although we had a non smoking room. AC was not working. Breakfast was not very special.
If you look for a cheap stay, then it is a good choice. It is located right next to a metro station. Not too far away from Tiergarden (Bikini Berlin). The room was not too small and clean. I didn't book for breakfast because...come on, who should take the breakfast in a hotel if you are in Berlin. (hehe...) You should try out everyday different Cafe for brunch. By the way, the hotel staffs were very friendly.
Good location and comfortable place. Suggest detailed info be given especially to foreigners as how to reach hotel from bus station or airport. Inform guest that city bus or train tickets are available form the hotel counter.
The hotel room was ok. Parking always a problem, you have to pay all over. The hotel had no restaurant and the stuff were inflexible. Our friends came to visit us for an our and brought a bottle of champagne, which we could not drink together in the foyer, because the stuff did not permit it. It was a special bottle with our names on it, specially for our short meeting in Berlin. Nothing for a toddler to play somewhere in the hotel.
We stayed here in November 2016 to visit the Christmas markets. It's a litle bit out of the city centre, however the Ubahn is a 2 minute walk down the road which connects you to everything so it doesn't matter that it's not city center. It was reasonably priced, clean and least. The room suited our needs, beds comfortable etc. The staff were very helpful and spoke perfect English. They let us leave our luggage in a side room when we checked out so we could go into the city before our flight home.
Although not in the heart of Berlin, this property is just a stone's throw from a UBahn station (and very close to another) so, hitting the city centre or any other area is very convenient. If you're familiar with Leonardo, this property has everything you'd expect and is maintained to their usual standard. I'm not sure it truly should count as 4*, but its very comfortable, clean and friendly. The buffet breakfast is well worth including in your booking, although the buffet area itself is quite small and you will be waiting to access, when just a few people arrive. If they do make specialist coffee drinks, I don't know, but it appears not and flasks of coffee were placed on each table instead. Nice food and plentiful, The rooms are clean, comfortable and well maintained. I only had a shower unit in my room and the water temperature was very variable. Warm water seemed to be the best I could get. I don't know if any rooms have bath tubs. Wifi is free, but you have to keep logging on every time you leave the property, which was a little tiresome. Friendly staff, with excellent English skills, who will help you with suggestions etc. They are very strict about the 3PM check in time, so if you arrive early, you will not be able to get a room. Some supermarkets nearby, in what is a very nice, relaxing neighbourhood, with many restaurant options. The rooms are not well sound proofed. I could hear every single word of every single conversation of the guests next door.
Very good stay at Leonardo Hotel, I would highly recommend it to others! Staff was very friendly and always ready to help us! The rooms were very clean and well equipped! We stayed four days. Wifi was ok!
This hotel is easy to reach from the Tegel airport. You cab take a bus X9 from the airport and leave the bus at Jakob-Kaiser-Platz, where you change to a subway connection U7. The U7 stop "Berliner Strasse" is the nearest to the hotel. Not bad at all! Berlin zoo and the city center are easy to reach from the hotel. The breakfast was nice (12 euros) and included many options to choose from. I would stay at this hotel again.
