We stayed here for 5 nights at the end of 5 weeks in Belgium & Germany. The room seemed clean, the carpet in the hallway was dirty but that didn't bother me. The room was a little small but it had a comfortable 2 seater couch for relaxing. That was a nice benefit. The bed seemed a bit narrow, not quite queen size. Clean towels everyday; not necessary but it was a nice treat. The breakfast was outstanding; lots of food, lots of variety, sufficient seating for all guests. The elevator is in need of repair; you have to use your card key to activate it and it didn't always work. A minor irritation. WI-FI in the room was horrible; it kept dropping. It worked fine in the lobby. Another minor irritant, we don't live on the internet when traveling, just check email once in a while. The hotel is in a great location; near the subway, near the Hop On Hop Off bus stop, near shopping (KA DE WE -- very expensive but worth a tour thru the store...the food court is great) The staff were great, friendly and always willing to help those annoying Canadian tourists with all the questions. Would I stay here again? Yes with no hesitation Would I recommend it to friends? Yes definitely
Fairly clean rooms, furniture not too broken, decent breakfast buffet, central enough and quiet enough. The toilet was smelly despite being cleaned every day, and the staff at the desk wasn't exactly friendly when checking in. But all in all, it was an okay experience and I would stay again.
Nice hotel with quite a convenient location with local 100 bus that goes into the top sights. I found all the staff very friendly and happy to help or answer any questions in particular the reception staff. The breakfast was really disappointing with no hot food though. Our room was very clean but felt they could have supplied a few more towels. With it being very hot when we visited last week the ice machine near the reception was very welcome with the rooms not having a mini fridge.
Everything was horrible. we came in as a big family group, 9 rooms. Although they promised the rooms will be close to each other, we got different floors. The bed was maximum as big as a single bed. not enough space for 2 ppl. We had to cuddle. There was no safe, no mini fridge in the room. When we asked for only a change of towels from the cleaning lady - she yelled at us saying it's our fault because we had the do not disturb sign. We did not complain nor wanted our room to get clean, just wanted new towels. Every day we had to go to the lobby and replace the card keys, cause they were stop working. Everyday for 6 nights!! The wifi worked only from the bed and it was slow. Sometimes it was just unavailable, although we called several times for assistance we got a casual reply, that was not helpful. And I had to use my own cellular internet. if everything wasn't bad enough, we returned one night around midnight, our card key didn't work again... We were tired and had to use the bathroom. Went again to the lobby asking for card replacement, surprisingly the rude desk guy now refused to replace the card key. For some reason the hotel forgot to charge our specific room when the group did the check in. They refused to let us in - midnight- unless the group manager will come now and pay for the room. It's a disgrace. He refused to give us any service nor use the toilet. We were locked out of the room for 30 minutes we go really angry we had to yell, take a video of the rude receptionist guy and call the police. The police scared him and he agreed to give us a key to the room. In the next morning we had found out they had blocked us out of the wifi system. I have never been so humiliated and disgraced by a hotel. From what I understand - in order to work in a hotel in Germany you have to go through training . It's a shame they don't check if they are nice and know how to service guests, kindly. We will never come back here I hope you will find any other place in Berlin, just not this one.
This hotel is conveniently located with easy access to all Berlin has to offer - you can walk to Potzdamerplatz in about 20 minutes - but at a very reasonable price. There is no food in the evenings but plenty of local bars and restaurants, and a local supermarket if that is your preference. The distinguishing feature is the cheery and efficient customer service. It's not the Adlon....but you're not paying the Adlon price. Pretty good.
Just stayed one night. Budget hotel room in great location near KaDeWe department store and the zoo. Breakfast free and includes fresh fruits, cheese, ham, boiled eggs, muffins, toast and teas and coffee. In my opinion there are better options nearby like the newly opened Mercure next to KaDeWe.
Having not been to Berlin before I was not quite sure just where this hotel was with regards to visiting the sites, so relied on reviews from Trip Advisor and was not disappointed. Pretty standard Holiday Inn Express flanked either side by Italian and Chinese restaurants on a busy road, close to the zoo. Cross the road and a very short walk brings you to the underground, a variety of shops and bars, a lovely little market in the square and a very expensive department store. Our room at the hotel seemed very small - in fact one of the single beds was pushed up against the wall which meant every time you turned over you hit your arm or knee on the wall - we queried room size at reception but were told all Holiday Inn Express rooms were built to same measurements??? Anyway the room was clean and functional even if the beds were rather lumpy and had seen better days. Good shower but some internal noise. Reception staff very helpful and pointed us to the 100 bus which runs from just outside the hotel into Alexanderplatz, telling us it is the same route the red city bus tour takes. So we paid 7 euros for a day bus pass and set off to see the sites, getting on and off the bus as many times as we wanted and at each stop there was plenty of information to keep you informed of the historical sites. Reception also recommended a very good typically German restaurant just opposite the hotel. Continental breakfast included in the price and was very good and plentiful. This hotel is in an ideal location and would definitely stay there again. Approximately 35Euros in a taxi from the airport.
The Holiday Inn was clean and fresh and we had a great nights sleep! Staff not as welcoming as we are used to but that didn't put us off. Breakfast buffet style, which we weren't expecting but plenty of choice to set you up for the day! Great location to explore Berlin as handy for all the bus tours and transport. Would definitely go again if we return.
I have spent several weekends in Berlin over the last years, and seem to change hotel every time. This time the hotel was chosen for location and price, and location was perfect for me. The hotel is quite a standard holiday inn express experience. Nothing fancy at all, but nothing bad either. Check in was fast and friendly, and I was allowed to check in a couple of hours earlier than check in time. The room is ok, the double bed is a queen, and rather on the small side. Room could have been cleaner, and this is where my rating takes it down one dot. Bathroom was fine, and the shower quite good actually. The breakfast is included, and was quite nice, very much bread and cold spreads oriented, and no hot items, except boiled eggs. It worked very well for me. So all in all a decent hotel, location in Schöneberg is nice if you need to be in that area, otherwise walking distance to KaDeWe, the Zoo and other attractions. Busses are very close for further exploring.
The hotel is functional but note it is near the zoo but a 30 minute bus ride to Berlin City, there are restaurants, shops and monuments close by. You do need to get the bus or tram to the city to see the main attractions. We would recommend anyone to use this hotel, rooms clean, buffet excellent and the staff were really helpful and spoke excellent English.
