This hostel is clean, the breakfast is ok, beds are quite good (at least the double beds - the mattresses in the multi bed rooms are a bit hard). The staff are friendly. And mostly it is quiet at night - most windows have a view to the yard, which is a quiet area. the reception area is nice, and students can hang out there and play billiard or get to know others.

We stayed here in December 2016 around the Christmas. The room was clean, the location is really great, Friedrichshain has so many bars and cafes, we were a bit shocked :) And people in the hotel are really kind, I messed up with check-out time and the didn't charge us for those 30 minutes. We will come back! Berlin is my love

Hostel is located close to restaurants and bars, also well connected to central berlin. Ensuit was clean and beds good. No CCTV in building. You have to pay a “bed tax” which is not included in the price. The place is huge with a lot of rooms, but there doesn't seem to be much of an atmosphere. It was much cheaper than anywhere else for a weekend in Berlin though. Given location and price I would stay again.

When I arrived they told me that the reservation was yet to be paid, I told them that I already paid the stay, after a short discussion they called the website and told me that it was a mistake and I did not need to pay. After they gave me a dorm room, I told them that the reservation said single room. They told me that it was an error on the system, and if I wanted to stay in a hotel room instead of a dorm one I would have to pay an extra 143eur for the 2 nights I was going to stay, on top of what I have already paid. I said absolutely not and that I was leaving and filling out a complain, then they told me that I only needed to pay 50eur to get the Hotel room. I said yes because it was way cheaper than going to any other hotel, and because I did not want to lose what I have already paid online. The morning after, a cleaning lady knocked the room's door saying that I should let her clean because I had to check-out that day. I went to the reception to show the receipt of the 50 eur they gave me the day before, then they told me that in the system they had wrongly entered that I was going to stay the 29th and 30th of December, instead of 30th and 31st, and since the 29th was cheaper than the 31st, I would have to pay an extra 60 eur to stay that night, that is, Dec 31st night. At that point I was completely mad, I said no and went to the room to pack everything. When I went to the reception to give back the room's key and to ask for a reimbursement, they told me that actually I could use the room for free that night. So basically the Hotel prompted me for payment 3 times, and backed off when I firmly said that I was not going to pay. It was pretty much a scam. Lastly, I would categorize the room as a bad 2 star hotel.

The hotelpart is ... well ... only a notch up from hostellevel. Not really good, not really bad. If you are only looking for a place to sleep, this is quite affordable and the location definately is the best. Friedrichshain is a lively neighborhood and very interesting. It is only a short S-bahn ride to the center. Do ask for your room not to be right next to the corridor door. This slams and wakes yoy up. We regret not asking for a different room. The breakfast is ok, but gets rwally boring. We expected that there would be a little difference ob the weekend. Breakfast is shared with the hostel guest so be prepared for a lot of noise! All in all - chose it for the location and if you just need a bed to sleep in.

Awesome staff with good location and fast wifi. 3mins walk from station. Easily accessible. Worth the stay. Good location. Can get more discount on price with website then on site booking. 10mins train ride from Alexandra platz

The hostel was a bit dissappointing in general. Firstly, we booked a room for 8 people with bathroom included but when we arrived there was any bathroom. There is only one kitchen really narrow for all people of the hostel which I find ridiculous. Besides, there isn,t any living room where you can eat your food (it is true that you can take it in the terrace, where there are some tables and chairs but what about if it is cold???). Some of the staff could be kinder in my opinion. By the way, I have to say that the location is really good. It takes you 5-10 minutes to the underground and there are a lot of pubs nearly. So the centre of the city is really near you. I would choose this hostel if I were with my friends to enjoy Berlin and not to stay so much time in the hostel but the price for it is good.

1. Noisy - full of school groups and generally inconsiderate people. Screams and shrieks until past 1130pm banging in hallways etc. Really hard to get a decent sleep at any point. - room windows open directly above the common bar area so not only do you get noise but your rooms fill with cigarette smoke. 2. Filthy - bathrooms: female toilets on level 2 out of toilet paper the entire stay, a disgusting and unhygienic mess of 'feminine fluids' was left in the toilet and over the floor for >24hrs without being cleaned. Boys bathroom smelt so rank that the entire of level 2 hallway was overpowered by the smell. - kitchen: utterly stinks of rotting food, tiny bar sized fridge is overflowing with rotting foods, minimal equipment to cook with and all felt greasy to the touch. - rooms: acceptable in that they are clean enough, but little else... Only two powerpoints in an 8-ppl dorm, and paperthin walls, noisy ++. 3. Great location - the only real saving grace, right near a train station, in a gorgeous area with tons of cafes bars etc, supermarket around the corner. 4. Staff - the majority were friendly and helpful, but a few of the male staff would literally ignore you while you waited patiently at the front desk to be served, you would have to wait for someone else to serve you.

Most unclean and unsafe hostel i've ever stayed in, "guests" trying to break into our room at 12:30am as well as vandalising our door, security was phoned but almost no action was taken. No security on hand and no janitor on site to fix damaged door. Showers and sinks full of pubic hair and ants, used condom within the eating area of the hostel and was not cleaned up or moved throughout the whole duration of our stay. Would definitely not recommend this hostel as it is disgusting and quite frankly unsafe!!!

Our twin room was in the main building/ground floor, right behind the reception. We could hear literally everything both from the corridor and the yard - the walls are like paper. If you want to sleep at all, remember to bring earplugs with you. Most of the hostel guests seem to be groups of teenagers, and they scream and shout in the yard all the time. Also, there was always people hanging out right behind our window so we had to keep the curtains closed all the time. If possible, try to get yourself a room from anywhere else but the ground floor. Then some good stuff: wifi is free and works great, room was clean and generally nice, bathroom also ok.
