Used whilst attending Ascot Races nearby. Reception staff were friendly and efficient. Rooms clean and reasonably well equipped but very dated and the bed was a very small double. Balcony feature was nice but not useable due to rather a lot of pigeon mess everywhere. Service in the bar was OK during the day for food and hot drinks, reasonably quick but not overly friendly. Service for bar food in the evening when we returned from the races was very slow and the food mediocre, although admittedly the place was quite busy. I'd stay again for convenience in terms of location but only for that reason.
Myself and 36 guests enjoyed celebrating my 70th Birthday with a 'buffet style' afternoon tea in one of the function rooms. The food and drink was exceptional. The afternoon was facilitated by Antonio and nothing was too much trouble - my thanks go out to him. Most of my guests who live in the area all said that they would recommend the afternoon tea experience to their friends, and would have no hesitation in returning for a more intimate afternoon tea themselves. My guests who stayed at the hotel were satisfied with their rooms and had a good stay. It made my 'special' day all the more special. Many thanks.
everything was exactly what you would expect from a hotel break, clean room which was spacious, large hotel bar area, breakfast was excellent, plenty to choose from (room was very warm for some reason)
Had an amazing weekend at the Coppid Beach. First impressions the hotel looks like it's based in the Swiss Alps. However inside the hotel is very much a dated cruise ship, so luxury, but old style decor. This however was perfect for us as the rooms were massive, clean and perfect for us. Girls night in was great, had plenty of food and wine, too much actually. All the girls were impressed. The Apres nightclub was great too, busy on the Friday night as they had a singles function. Saturday we went into Reading which was a 15 minute drive, amazing town great shops and beach bar. Had the dinner in the bar which again was filling and plenty of wine. Band was great, DJ was ok, lacked the 2017 hits though. There were 8 hen parties on the Saturday night so lots of girls and everyone in high spirits. Breakfast both mornings was fine, Saturday was quieter than Sunday but the food was the same. The only faults for me were lumpy fat pillows n the president suite and the swimming area is unfortunately dated and needs a good jet wash with bleach everywhere. Pool was foggy underwater too. I would definitely revisit for a hen party or girlie birthday for sure.
We arrived on Saturday and it was very busy, but we were soon sorted and up to our room. A very nice big room, good bed, two arm chairs and small coffee table. TV channels hardly more than basic and Wi-Fi kept cutting out, also a need for more plug sockets for personal use, could only find one suitable for personal use and had to unplug kettle for that. Charging phones/iPod/tablet was not possible as didn't want to leave them out on display when we were out of the room. Breakfast, mostly very good although Sunday when we came down about 8.45, no glasses, no cereal bowls or plates for toast/pastries and several items had run out. The other two days we stayed this was not a problem. Although very busy with hen/stag parties not to noisy. Both the restaurants were booked when we tried to book in early afternoon but we took a walk and found a nice pub 25min walk, The Bridge, good pub food and not expensive, would recommend, and another 10/15 mins a fryers pub, good Carvery.
Had an absolute amazing time at the hotel there was 16 of us there for my hen night and we had a silver package party for £100 each and we had an amazing cream tea use of the spa with jacuzzi and Swimming pool and then the rooms were lovely 😊 and none of us had any complaints about the rooms then dinner was amazing to the Keller bar the music and the band was fabulous and then apres club was great I would highly recommend
We stayed here on the Saturday and Sunday of the last bank holiday in May. Having booked this with a Groupon voucher and then reading the reviews (stupid I know) I didn't hold out much hopes for a quiet weekend. The hotel cater's to a lot of hen parties and as such can get noisy in the evenings. What's good: 99% of the staff were helpful and gave good customer service, see below for the other 1%. The hotel rooms were clean and reasonably spacious for a couple and the bed was comfortable. Virtually no noise from the apres ski bar and nightclub at night. We experienced very little noise in the corridors late at night, I think based on others comments we were lucky as we had a hen party next door but didn't hear them apart from preparing to go out in the evening. Breakfast on the Sunday morning, reasonable selection and the full English was hot. What's not: The hotel decor is very dated. Bottles and glasses dumped on the grass outside the entrance to the apres ski bar and nightclub were there from Saturday night until Sunday evening before staff collected them. Only two three pins sockets in our room, other sockets (more numerous) were non standard 3 pin (so stuff connected to them less likely to get nicked). Breakfast on the Monday morning (same time as the Sunday morning), there was a queu and the welcome from "frosty knickers - English older woman" was just that, as there was a queue she showed us to a big table, we suggested another table as there was only two of us and she just shrugged her shoulders, great customer service, she obviously really likes her job - NOT. I asked for some fried eggs as only scrambled on dish but even though they were fresh from the kitchen they were still fairly cold. It is obvious when there is a queue the staff can't cope as most of the full English breakfast was cold. So all we had was toast. Poor. Wedding reception on the Sunday night in the ground floor reception room was very noisy, the noise impacted the whole of the ground floor bar area and reception. Wifi and in room high speed wifi did not work at all, could not connect and was completely useless - don't even bother.. Summary A reasonable hotel however NEVER pay full price. It says AA 4 star on the board, that must have been when it opened as I very much doubt it is 4 star now.
Staying for a LEGOLAND Break we arrived really late after a very long journey. The lady at reception was lovely and quickly checked us in. The entrance has several huge fish-tanks above the ceiling which look amazing. We had room service the first night which was piping hot when it arrived, tasted great and was reasonably priced. The breakfast room has lots of character and was very busy but there was plenty of choice and the cooked bacon, scrambled egg and mushrooms were the best I have ever tasted! As a very light sleeper I had to request to move room after the first night and the people at reception could not have been more friendly and helpful. The hotel has a pool and steam room / sauna that were open until 10.00pm, which was great to relax in after a long day at the theme park (the floor tiles around the pool could do with a scrub though). Although the hotel has a nightclub and lively bar, we didn't hear it at all. Thank-you for a lovely stay. We know where to come the next time we are down - though I will use the GPS as the signs for the ski centre next door were a bit sparse!
In need of a short stay before travelling, we opted for this one as it's close to relatives. The room was larger than expected and the bed really comfortable. The bathroom is well appointed and the hot water was plentiful. I used the pool and had it to myself which was lovely, it is small but was adequate . Sadly the spa was closed as it was bank holiday but would defiantly try it as it had been recommended to me and treatments looked reasonably priced. Buffet style breakfast was good, fruit, cereals, full English options and lovely freshly brewed coffee. The decor colours are a bit dated but everything is spotless and comfortable. We got a great deal that made this cheaper than a travelodge, and would definitely stay again. Ask for a quiet room, we were on the 4th floor and slept like babies. Praise should be given to staff too, we were checked in early and it was no problem. Well done to the team.
