We stayed here when we went to Windsor Castle it is literally 5 minutes to the castle, great location. We looked at a few rooms before we decided to stay as we had been to a beautiful hotel prior to arriving there but the rooms did not match the rest of the hotel. The receptionist on reception and the concierge could not have been more appeasing, they showed us 5 rooms and we opted for one in the new part of the hotel which was lovely and modern, bed comfy! The only think that let them down was the restaurant breakfast staff. We arrived at 9.40 and we felt rushed to finish out breakfast for 10. Where they literally shut off the Buffet and start clearing up around you, all the detergents came out on the bar and the cleaner even started hoovering while we were trying to finish our breakfast. I found the woman on the breakfast shift very rude and unhelpful. Which is a real shame as everyone else was great.

So a coach trip to Windsor castle followed by tea for two. The whole coach went to the sir Christopher wren hotel. What can I say but their tea for two was by far the best I have even had. I don't eat bread so the mad me wraps all was perfect.

We had our wedding and reception at the hotel on 19 August 2017. The food was excellent and the service fantastic Our particular thanks goes to Marcelo de Oliveira the food and beverage manager who guided us seamlessly through the day from putting my shoes on when I arrived by boat to ensuring the wedding ceremony, breakfast, after party and evening buffet ran like clockwork- a true professional and all round amazing guy! The bridal suite was charming and beautifully laid out. We really can't recommend the hotel and its friendly staff highly enough.

We were given a voucher for champagne afternoon tea and had a lovely time. Being seen to on arrival wasn't great with many of the staff walking by or looking over and not acknowledging you, which was frustrating. The Maitre 'd seemed busy dealing with a private booking so we were left standing around for 10 mins or so. They seemed a little short staffed and unable to handle large bookings and at one point told us our food would be delayed due a large booking arriving. However once seated things picked up and the afternoon was good. Food was nice, champagne was lovely and we could have as much tea and coffee as we wanted. Scones were fresh and warm and is a good place to enjoy afternoon tea. The dining room is newly refurbished, light and airy and there was a good buzz about the place - but please do something about staffing and making sure customers aren't just left hanging around.

I recently stayed at the Sir Christopher Wren hotel for a works weekend away, which seemed strange as I live just outside Eton, about a mile away from the hotel. My colleagues travelled up mainly from the a South Coast. So I know Windsor well and was aware of all the many fabulous attractions and things to do. I had eaten in the hotel previously but it was interesting to stay. The first thing I noticed was the newly refurbished bar and restaurant area. It made good use of the space and had great views of the river, Eton and Eton bridge. The bar staff were good and Marcelo was very attentive taking overall charge of our party. The food on Friday was excellent, as was the breakfast in the morning. The service was good and the staff friendly. The hotel is in an excellent location close to the castle and the central attractions. The only thing to be aware of, which is no fault of the hotel, is that Windsor is a popular nightspot and it can get a bit noisy late at night if you are in a room at the front of the hotel. Our room was well equipped with a good sized shower and bathroom. The décor was elegant but a little tired and dated but clean and tidy. I understand the rooms are being refurbished, as others in our group had better ones. The cost was reasonable and everyone in our party appeared very happy with our choice. I would recommend this hotel for anyone who enjoys good food for a great weekend away.

Stayed here after missing a flight at Heathrow. Nice little place! We got here late but room was clean and comfortable. From my understanding there is a newer section to this hotel which is probably nicer than where we stayed but this hotel is still worth a visit. We never ate or sampled the spa. Set in an idilic location Windsor is definitely worth a visit.

Excellent room and service. Our room was over the road on the opposite side to reception as they had a wedding going on and wanted to offer a quieter room. Room itself was really modern and well appointed, and breakfast overlooking the river was great. Will return.

Perfect spot to stay, reception were very helpful, asked if we wanted to decide between 3 rooms they had. The one we pick was across the road from the main hotel. We had to issues with the hotel, one you need to walk up stairs, no lifts. Not an issue for us, but would be for some. Second issue, the barman works very hard, little if no support. I waited 20 mins outside for service, waiters, (if they are waiters) came out and went in, but would only clean up. I went in myself. There I saw the barman doing all the work. It was good to be in another building as there was a noisy party on the Saturday night in the main hotel

Had a great one night stay at the Wren. Service from reception was the best, The girls were so helpful and polite. The hotel is a perfect location to explore windsor. A 100mtrs away there is the river tours...and a 5 min walk gets you too windsor castle. The hotel has no real parking of its own(You are allowed to drop off). Best bet is too park at the train station.get a 24 hour ticket and walk alongside the river for 5 mins...reach bridge..and hotel is there. Food, service and hotel is amazing. Nothing was less that perfect. Thank you!

A lovely hotel, in a great position for visiting the Castle which is just up the hill, the shops are all close by too. The room we had was lovely with a four poster bed, staff very friendly and helpful
