Stayed here 2 nights for business, check in was good, although booking car parking was a little confusing! The desk staff were great, provided me with a razor when I had forgotten mine. Room was comfortable, although the one negative was that I was booked into an accessible room, but the shower temperature just didn't get hot enough. Quite unpleasant having a tepid shower!

I stayed over with this hotel for a very early Christmas do and the prices were the best out of the available options. We found the room was large, and although the bed seemed quite hard strangely it was one of the better mattresses I've tried. The cleanliness was absolutely fine and facilities were good - the one gripe we had was purely down to the temperature of the room as for some reason we just couldn't get it warm, despite the heating being on at full blast! The location for this hotel is excellent for the train and city centre, and you're within walking distance of the local pubs, restaurants and clubs (okay, the Turtle). Parking is essentially non-existent, we used the Oracle as we were only staying for one night with limited luggage. The hotel has a pool at warm temperatures, plus a gym. Sadly I didn't get a chance to use it, but our friends staying with us were very pleased and spent a lot of time in there If you can book early and get a good deal on the price then this is a good choice for staying over

I m just impressed by the kindness of the staff, particularly the receptionists Bruno and Aleksandra. Extremely keen and helpful. Good breakfast and access to the SPA made my visit very relaxing and comfortable. I enjoyed my stay with no buts. Grazie!

The hotel is really near Reading Station and the town centre. It is close to various good pubs, restaurants and bars. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very clean. Our room was basic but very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was included and it was delicious with lots of variety for hot and cold options. The leisure facilities are good with a good sized gym and swimming pool.

Booked a stay with two friends at a very reasonable price. Nice rooms, great location. Spent time using the gym, indoor pool, sauna and steam room which was an added bonus. Only problem we experienced was being stuck in the lift for an hour late at night! We were only given a drink of water as a sorry. I know people who have received a free stay after a similar problem in another hotel before so maybe Novotel could have given us a free stay as a gesture of goodwill too considering it wasn't exactly a comfy hour in a hot cramped lift! Had that incident not happened, it would have received 5 stars without hesitation. Overall a very good stay, just going to avoid lifts for a few weeks!!

I arrived in town without a ticket to a sold-out show. The staff assisted me in getting into the show. The room was clean and modern, the bed comfortable, dinner and room service breakfast excellent. I would recommend.

The Novotel is conveniently located in the center of Reading, just down the street from the train station. It is easy to walk to various businesses and restaurants. Check in staff is friendly and the rooms are good. I would stay here again if in Reading.

I stayed at Novotel in Reading for 2 nights and although it’s situated in a busy road , the room in the back was very quiet. Receptionist was very helpful and offered me the option of staying in a quiet room . The room was nicely decorated, comfortable bed , great bathroom with a bath and separate shower, complimentary water bottle each day which was a nice touch . Definitely recommend and we will be back.

We stayed here for one night as a group of two families. We were attending an event in Reading. We booked two family rooms as we are two families of 4 with children aged between 4 and 8. We booked a room rate that included parking and breakfast. I recommend trying to do this, as the car park is secure and it was easier than worrying about parking a distance away. The check in process was easy and the staff on the desk when we were there were very friendly. The rooms were great. At the top of the hotel and were interconnecting. We hadn't asked for this, but actually it worked really well as the children could play with each other while us parents sorted the bags out etc. The room was not massive, not helped by the sofa bed being out. However, it was very clean, contemporary and the bathroom was nice. The views were great which my two girls found very exciting. The only negative for me with the room was that the toilet was in a seperate room to the bathroom. It is just easier for us as a family with young children to have the toilet in the same room as the sink.. There was a good room service menu. We used the swimming pool twice and this was a real bonus for us. After a long day at the event, it was great to be able to take the kids to splash in the pool. The pool area was clean and basic. There was also a sauna and steam room and gym. Breakfast the next morning was a highlight for us. So much choice and all very tasty. The pancake making machine was a real hit with the children and adults, the fried breakfast buffet was super. Breakfast was also served until late morning which is really useful if you want a lie-in! The only small criticism was not many staff members available. I needed some extra cutlery and it took me a wee while to find someone. The restaurant area is clean with contemporary decoration. The check out time is also late at midday which was great, no rushing around in the morning and we used the swimming pool again before leaving. After checking out we wanted to have a quick wander around the shops, and we were allowed to leave our car in the secure carpark whilst we did this. Overall, this is a great city hotel, lovely accomodation which does exactly what you need, friendly staff when we were there, useful swimming pool facility, great breakfast, helpful secure parking. Slight negatives during our stay: toilet seperate to main bathroom, sofa bed fits two young children but will not suit for when they are older, is a bit small. Maybe more floating staff around during breakfast. Also, if you are booking at weekend with young warned there may be Stag and Hen parties staying as Reading seems to be a Stag/Hen destination. There were at least two staying while we were there but they were well behaved! 😊

We had a great stay. Was up graded as we had a sticky start. The hotel is not far from the city centre. Food on both nights excellent. Breakfast there is plenty of choice. Car park is not easy to find.
