Excellent facility and service!
While the architecture is amazing, it feels old and run down. The staff seem unconcerned, and not well trained or considerate, especially in Morgan’s bar.
Very cool, historic, old building--fun architecture and side rooms and sitting areas. All of the public areas are well-kept and the rooms are very clean. Unfortunately, Julia's restaurant was closed while we were there due to private parties. Pool was closed due to unexpected maintenance needed for the ceiling. The shower was a bit annoying due to the shower curtain fitting all around the tub and the air circulation kept pushing the shower curtain against your legs from all sides making the shower a bit claustrophobic for me. Great location, short walk to BART, UCB, and all sorts of great dining options. We will definitely stay here again, and we really, really want to eat at Julia's Restaurant!
Beautiful building, clean and well appointed rooms, courteous staff, convenient location. The swimming pool is great, too. Hidden gem!
This is definitely a unique property, and I can see why many people would enjoy it's historical beauty and charm. For my purposes (a business trip), other properties would be a better fit. For example, I found that (because the building is historic), the rooms are not terribly well insulated and so noise carries. I didn't feel comfortable taking business calls in the morning because I didn't want to wake my neighbors.
Awesome location and great place to stay. The staff was awesome. A great experience. I will be back.
Gorgeous architecture by pioneering female architect Julia Morgan, it was like being inside a dream house....the swimming pool is remarkable. Hepful staff. VERY HAPPY!
Love the architectural significance and location!
A different sort of stay at a hotel. It's a very unique hotel, not a Hilton or a Marriott. Very Victorian. European.
This hotel has wonderful architecture by Julia Morgan. It is old and beautiful.
Beautiful historic building, spectacular view, with a delicious breakfast. Did not have tv in the room.
