This is a 4 star plus property and a place to stay if you want to relax and enjoy your vacation. Rooms are very cosy. They have roof top pool, 3 Restaurant, Gym, Pub, Happy hours, DJ nights, Excellent Service. Complimentary breakfast is good. Location is a plus. Food and Beverage facilities are superb with wide varieties. Strongly recommend for family stay.
I had come to this place along with my office colleagues and with some delegates from US, to enjoy lunch. But the people here were not very receptive and were serving cheap items in starters. And top of that they weren't even coming to fulfill the plates when they see it empty. My manager and sometimes me has to call them to serve more. Also the items in lunch were minimal and no variety. It looked as we were eating at an ordinary restaurant. I would never go to it again for lunch or dinner. Since I have not stayed here so I will not comment on it. But seeing their hospitality, I would think twice before going to them.
Arriving at the Hotel Royal Orchid, I was rather optimistic as I was there for an event a week earlier and it looked like a nice place. The check in was straightforward and easy enough. The room was a little dated, although it was meant to have a colonial feel about it, I felt that the furnishings could be better maintained. It's a busy hotel, with people hanging around the lobby, walking through the corridors and generally coming, going, sitting and waiting. They do host events and this means that it is a busy place, so do bear the in mind. We only stayed 2 nights. The breakfast was okay. It has the usual selection you would expect. The service is not great, more out of necessity than anything else. I just felt that it did not have the intimate calm and ambience. It felt more like a school dining hall experience with the noise, light and atmosphere. Do bear in mind, the hotel is not really centrally located, nor can you walk easily to anywhere of any great interest, so you would need to rely on taxis. The doorman was always polite and courteous, welcoming us back whenever we came back into the hotel. Other than that, it was not a memorable stay, more a necessary one. I'm not sure what they can do to improve the hotel. It is probably just not for me. Others may find it exhilarating and much more palatable. Would I stay here again? Probably not.
Hotel Royal Orchid - the name sounds enticing. after a lot of deliberation i chose to stay at this hotel as i was on a business trip for 6 days. the hotel is well located off the old airport road overlooking the golf links. the lane just opposite to big pitcher. the reception was decent , warm less a welcome drink. hotels of this kind should adopt a system of welcome drink. i was given a room with a good golf view on the 3rd floor and i was satisfied.the room was spacious and well done up, though few misc things required were provided promptly. the front desk consisting o fmr david,ms bandana ,ms pratima and others were all helpful from check in till departue. mr shankar the ever smiling guy at the reception helped us to the room with the luggage. the warmth exuded by him was heart warming. the hotel is nice with a great n amazing variety of food in the american plan at the restaurant limelight. and then there is an irish bar enticing for a drink .. it offers happy hours if one desires to explore n exploit.but there is a catch. offer on limited varieties not on single malts or premium scotch. the restaurant serves abundant varieties of food and i literally had to be on fruits n curd rice for cleansing and detoxification after 2 days of gluttony.even a spoon of each would bloat the stomach.. there is tandoori, pizza, chat thela , thai, korean, indian chinese ,continental.etc .the photos i post should be self explanatory.. the attraction is the chat thela with the ever smiling old man offering you to taste a variety at least. the hotel happens to be hugging the software hub and has hoards of people flocking it 24x7. it has decent gym and a centrally heated swimming pool. the gym is good for a decent workout while the pool gives the additional energy boost. the icing on the cake is the sunday lunch buffet. i would have loved to die eating.. such is the fantastic buffet.the spread is just awesome..live counters of moms, grilled fish ,pork , chicken..it is irresistible . mr sourabh one of the managers at the restaurant is prompt to help out the clients.a short liitle bespectacled girl is always on the toes to reach to everyone .she needs an appreciation from the management.i can't remeber others as they don't wear name tabs. the nightmare- sunday breakfast . so much crowd makes the space little..mismanagement, hard to find place to sit. one has to be early to enjoy a decent if not a good breakfast. weekdays it is very good , at leisure ,at peace to relish lovely food . two people you find always slogging- mr satish a young lad from house keeping on 3rd floor and shivakumar well decked up gentleman at the front gate.always smiling and looking after the guests ,the unsung ones.they deserve an appreciation. i was offered an upgrade in the old wing with a great room yet i chose the golf view room in the new wing. last but not the least ms pooja from the marketing ensured that our stay remains cherished for long. royal orchid is the kind of place you need if going for complete solace.. to make it happen step out and next door is the never sleeping indira nagar.- bah on regardless.
I have stayed there for one day and the service was horrible at this hotel. The paratha served during the breakfast was with tracing paper stick on it and none of the chef noticed it. Dont know whether its pre cooked and not served the fresh ones. The response from the manager was also very rude. it was really a sad experience. I think it is advisable not to stay at this hotel and choose some better hotels. atleast the orchid hotel at manipal have much better service than this.
This is my fourth stay at this property (in addition to hosting large family gathering). I stay here by choice because I like the staff. The front desk (night manager), lobby staff (Sundar), and Lime Light Restaurant staff (Prakash) are outstanding. This fourth trip has given me multiple reasons for concern. Thus this constructive feedback. 1. It all began at the airport - the pre-arranged hotel car service did not show up. The mix up could not be explained as I had called the hotel from the US, spoken to the travel desk in addition to the email exchange with reservation staff. (A side note: the airport taxi, arranged by the hotel agent at the airport, took me for a long two hours ride through the city - it took two hours to reach the hotel from the airport - it should have taken no more than 45-55 minutes at 2:00 am in the morning. This is not the fault of the hotel, however. Crooked cab drivers exist in every city). 2. Great check in. The night manager and the intern were ready for my arrival. 3. No consistent wifi in the room as the network was being upgraded. Disappointing; but forgivable. 4. No hand towels in the bathroom - just one large bath towel available on day One. It was later corrected after I called and requested (had to call multiple days). 5. BIGGEST Irritant: the darn card key does not work but for each single entry. The key system is OLD. It needs to be replaced. I kept going back to the front desk as it rejected my card keys five times over a four night stay!!! Okay, I got my exercise and steps in for the day as a result - but, I prefer that the key works. 6. The tea kettle (in room 404, at least) is held together with electrical tape? Seriously?!! 7. The shower curtain needs to be replaced and the bathtub can be scrubbed better and made to look inviting - there is NO way one would want to soak in that bath tub. 8. The electrical plug next to the bed side tends to spark. So, what does all of the above point to? This property is in desperate need of a makeover. You have a great location near the golf course (you should do something about the sewer smell from the open canal in front of the hotel - realize it is a city issue and Welcome to India... let's try harder on the Clean India initiative!); your staff appears dedicated; you now have significant competition in the neighborhood. What's the distinctive advantage of staying at Hotel Royal Orchid, if your facility is dated? Leela does offer decent price points - I could have stayed at Leela for just $35/night more than Royal Orchid... that is not much more... I choose to remain loyal to this property for now. Time for improvements in service and definitely the infrastructure. Will see what my next stay here will unfold... I wish you continued success...
This hotel has got no good staff and they don't know how to talk They provide uncleaned bowl in lunch and dinner They clear the plate before u complete ur food They are clueless about house keeping Drinking water in room is charged not reasonable but heavily Laundry service is very poor
I have stayed in this for 07 days. Hotel staff is extremely blunt and unprofessional. A hotel receptionist i personally witnessed misbehaving with guests then another day another staff Shivender lost his temper when asked for receipt for payment. A CCtV footage exists, complaint lodged at hotels website no response received. I read another review stating only 2 water bottles provided per day, someone had replied that the issue has been sorted out but thats a lie, you still get two bottles. Entire staff is incompetent and unruly. Poor hotel not at all recommended.
This hotel has a very cozy and comfortable stay. Right in the middle of the city. Rooms are well designed. Staff is courteous. There are lots of Breakfast options as well to start the day. Good experience overall and value for money!
This hotel offers you a spectacular view of the golf course.Rooms are very spacious and have all the modern amenities.Breakfast is complimentary and offers a wide choice of food including the juices.Though located close to a busy road, the rooms are quiet.I thoroughly love this hotel.
