The staff at Midas Resort is like none other. The kindness and hospitality make Midas feel like home, amongst family. They meet every need with a smile and truly want the best experience for you in San Ignacio.

Room was clean, daily service, fresh towels and the beds were done everyday, unless you instruct them not to. Much better service than some of the hotels here in the US. Beware of extra charges for the use of the refrigerator. Also ask for a receipt if you pay cash for their breakfast since they will charge it to your room, therefore your credit card. Personnel is very friendly and hard working. Beautiful small cabanas. Close to the best restaurant in town and maybe Belize, The Guava Limb. Plenty of stores, walking distance from their fruit and vegetable market. Beautiful swimming pool. Very well kept.

They help set up a tour to Tikal. There were not many details provided and we shuffled between drivers a couple of times, picked our tour guide up on the way, etc... Was not as well put together as some of the tour companies would be.

Great time and very caring and helpful staff on hand to pamper to one's needs. First time to Belize and an issue came up. The manager and her staff were the most accommodating and helpful people, offer and provided assistance until I finally was able to resolve the issue at hand..... Hotel was nice..........room was clean and comfortable which allowed me to enjoy the natural beauty that surround it.....One of the finest hotel and staff

Midas was nice place to stay. From the outside it looks a little run down but the rooms are very nice. We really liked the pool bar and hung out there every evening.

Great location walking distance from town and restaurants. Very very friendly staff and lovely cabanas. Bar, pool and restaurant on site and access to a wide variety of great tours.

We arrived at the Midas Reset to the pounding music of a pool party :( What had we gotten ourselves into?!? But the lady at the front desk explained that it would end at 10:30 . So we walked into town and had a delicious dinner. When we got back, the party was winding down and true to their word, it was quiet after that. This was on a Saturday night and the next two nights were quiet with only the cleaning of frogs at night and the calls of birds during the day. Very walkable to the city center. A peaceful place to relax and a base for seeing the archaeological sites of the area.

Somewhere between agency and the Resort my prepaid reservation was lost, so we showed up and Midas had no record of us. Fortunately, I guess, I had printed out my receipt from agency. The staff was very nice and luckily they had rooms for us, although not the ones we paid for and we had to pack our stuff every night to move room to room. They said they would contact agency and get us a partial refund, but that has not happened yet. Can't figure out how to email agency, so will have to call them, I guess. Given than San Ignacio is an outpost in Belize, the resort was fun, but don't expect the Ritz. The staff were very nice and organized some great tours for us. Pool was murky and uninviting, hot tub was not connected. Excellent fry jacks for breakfast. Try to get into main building, if you want American Style room, although bathrooms still small. Some of "cabanas" are rustic. Hotel is in partial state of renovation.

This resort is going through some upgrades that will make it one of the finest in the area. Having a resort like this in a relatively new country that is in the tropics gives one the chance to have most of the things we are accustomed to but also to see and mingle with the people who are native to this country. It is close to the downtown area, within a few minutes walk and staff was eager to assist us in finding activities, tours and transportation. Although it is 72 miles from the airport all necessary arrangements were made to assure we arrived and could get back to the airport on time.

Don't know if we just happened to get the only unit that hasn't been upgraded, but this was a $30 rustic Montana cabin at best. Staff was very friendly tho, and we only slept there.
