Best Western Plus Belize Biltmore Plaza

Clean hotel rooms, pool & gym, friendly staff, free wifi, and overall nice grounds. Staff will help you arrange tours for no added cost. The hotel location being just outside of the downtown makes it easier to get out on tours to the rest of the country.

The front of the hotel, neat and clean, does not reveal the wonderful secret garden within. The light-filled lobby, with a nice gift shop, leads back to a newly-equipped exercise room, then on to the very attractive restaurant with a cosmopolitan menu and excellent food, and then out to the large and beautiful hidden courtyard, which has lovely gardens, gazebos, and sparkling pool, many decks with comfortable lounge areas, and the fully-equipped, very pleasant, pool bar. Charming ! Our room was newly remodeled and simply first-class. All the rooms are currently being remodeled as well, and most rooms overlook the gardens and pool. Only a few minutes from the Philip Goldstone International Airport in Belize City, the Biltmore Best Western is an unexpected jewel. Add to all of this the personnel. Every employee we encountered was cheerfully helpful and professional. It is obvious that each one takes pride in their workplace, and we felt genuine care from each of them at every turn. We visit Belize often and will enjoy staying at this hotel again. It is particularly pleasant and convenient if you like being near the airport at the beginning or end of your visit to Belize.

They also have a party venue, which on Saturday hold a dance lasted until 3am with loud music.

Hotel is not near anything notable. Dirty highway in front, neighborhood streets next door, strip mall across the street. The Biltmore is clean, and suitable for families, couples or business travelers. Buffet is expensive (~$15 US) for breakfast/lunch/dinner and not terrific for my US-based tastes .. I will note that there were more than a few British influences on the menu and in the buffet (beans for breakfast, for example). There were items on the menu from the kitchen that were far fresher and even cheaper than the buffets. Room was clean, but the bath window did not close completely. To prevent the A/C from escaping, I would close the bath door at night. Yes, AC! It works, and helps the room stay cool all night. No carpeting anywhere in this hotel (that i noticed), however, it was warm enough in April that it would have been unnecessary. I did not rent a car, but the hotel shuttle was staffed by a nice guy named Jorge. He gave out his direct number, and the front desk could also call him (my phone did not seem to want to dial local numbers even with my international dialing plan). His rate is ~$25/hour US which i feel is more than reasonable. He drove me to a few excellent eateries in the area, and let me practice my Espanol on him while doing so. Walking is possible, but not much is near enough to walk to .. there is an excellent market nearby (DK market?) within a few blocks, and it has everything from almond milk, to cheap drinking water.

The pool is beautiful and mostly empty during the day. The outdoor seating for the restaurant was awesome. The room was comfortable and clean. However, the shower did not drain well. The room service was slow and when we called to find out when it would arrive, they were unfriendly.

I was nearly carried away by mosquitos on the way to the room... getting checked for Zika now !!! The show drain cover had metal sticking up and cut my foot.

I would not recommend on Thursday karaoke night walls are thin.

Many things need to be upgraded. The bathrooms have no bathtubs, the toilets are so ancient that they make you feel that you are deficating on the ground. The toilets do not flush well. The faucets in the face bowls run like little drops at time. The Personnel is Excellent. They go out of their way to please. The place needs to be renovated. It's not worth the price. FORGET ABOUT IT.

I stayed there for one night after spent few days in the treehouse. I didn't expect much from this hotel but I didn't expect a treehouse in the jungle is clearner and provide better service than a hotel in a city area.

This was one of my worst experiences in belize. the front desk staff was rude and not helpfull at all. We had a room full of mosquitos. we must have killed a dozen and wore bug spray to bed and still got eaten allive. the bad part is we had no trouble outside the room while in belize. we stayed 3 nights and changed hotels. it was awful!

Unfortunately we stayed at this hotel on a saturday night with 2 young children and the wedding reception and surrounding parties made it too noisy for us. Great pool and outdoor areas, old but comfortable and mostly close to the airport.

Staff were knowledgable and helpful. Hotel well-maintained overall, but room lavatory smelled of sewerage and shower and sinks drains were SLOW.

I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The pool was great and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

The overall stay was great during this time. I have no complaints but there is always room to get even better.

ok to Start the staff at the hotel Avery courteous and friendly they do the best try can. The room was clean and ready. The only issue I had was that while settling in I notice there was a lot of mosquitoes in the room. I allerted the front desk and they quicky send someone with a spray and after a few minutes the flys literally was dropping like flies so thy was good. However the odor for the spray was too much for me so I had to step out of the room. Other than that the stay was very pleasant.

This is a nice, safe hotel with friendly staff and good amenities. The pool is excellent and the rooms are clean. The location is superb.

We've stayed at more luxurious hotels but we have never stayed at a nicer one. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The accommodations were great. If we return to Belize City we will be at the Biltmore Plaza.

This is one of the two best Hotels in Belize City. This was low season so basically there was no one in the hotel, repairs and painting was taking place throughout the hotel in preparation for high season it was very difficult to organize day tours to places of interest outside of the city because of the low occupancy, but it allowed the few guests to have all of the attention form the hotel personnel. Especially Tina at the poolside bar. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and its just a short taxi ride to town or the water taxi.

it's just me or we find this hotel to be overpriced, $150 no breakfast ? the rooms are need of repairs and have some sort activities...

I called long distance from Michigan to have a taxi pick us up at the aiport and take us to the hotel....never showed...not a good beginning. The restaurant buffets listed in the hotel directory were never when they said or they just didn't have them. One evening I order curry shrimp and my husband ordered Ceasar salad for dinner. The waiter returned and told us they had not lettuce and no curry. Also the first five items on the appetizer menu they did not have. We ate out alot and that involved taxi rides into Belize City. This hotel needs some serious managment improvements! The tour lady was great
