We chose this hotel in Houffalize while touring the Ardennes for 4 days. Room was large and comfortable. Bathroom was large and modern. Parking was free at a parking lot adjacent to the hotel. Full breakfast available with a nice selection of food. We enjoyed dinner at the hotel restaurant all 4 nights of our stay. Waitstaff was very friendly.

Our tour stayed at the hotel the last day of the annual 3-day Carnival du Soleil which is a big deal for Houffalize and the surrounding areas. The town was crowded with participants and people there to enjoy the celebration--all types of entertainment and parades. We arrived late afternoon on Sun., after the parade the last day and I wished we would have been able to be there at least the entire day. Anyone in the area next year should try and time their visit for the 2018 Carnival. Roads were blocked off due to the festivities; our skillful bus driver was able to get us close to the hotel. Once there, check-in was efficient and some of us walked around a viewed the revelry. Streets covered in confetti and all of the bars and restaurants were full. All of us had a fun time. Very nice, quaint town and very friendly people. You Tube has videos of previous paraders. My room was pleasant, the food and drinks were good, and enjoyed the stay. Elevator was a bit quirky.

It was the second time that we booked this hotel. This time we booked a standard room, which is good as can be, so no neet to spend extra money. breakfast was okay, I suggest to install a new coffee machine and offer more types of coffe for breakfast. We had the dinner here too, which was good. However, it seems that all closes early in the evening, we felt a bit 'sent away' at 22:00...

We were having no luck finding a hotel closer to Bastogne when we found the Hotel Commerce in Houfallze. Houfalize is a pretty little town, within easy reach of the various sites throughout the Ardennes. The rooms are clean and modern, with a touch of old world style. We found the staff to be helpful and friendly. The lounges out front or the tables in the garden along the river provide restful places to watch the world go by. Parking is free and close by, and wifi is free. There is not much for early risers - like me, hunting for coffee ; breakfast doesn't open until 8:00 AM. I found coffee at a boulangerie around the corner that opened at 7:30. The breakfast is in the European style, with a nice selection of eggs, meats and cheeses, fruit and more, plus coffee and juices. The staff is a bit touchy if you try to get in to breakfast before 8, but more cheerful after and will bring pots of coffee to your table. Even with the elevator one may have to wrestle luggage in front the street and deal with some steps inside. An excellent value - a nice room, a full breakfast and a reasonable rate.

This is a quaint village hotel with a restaurant and bar on the first floor. We were unsure of what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised to find in our room modern furnishings, a large bathroom with double sinks, a bubble tub, rain shower head, comfortable bed, and state of the art lighting controls. Our room overlooked the village. We ate as a group at the restaurant and the food was good; the chocolate mousse dessert was excellent. Stores in the village close by 6pm so try to plan your arrival and departure if you would like to shop. Definitely one to put on your list. Customer service was also very good.

We stayed one night. In advance I requested gluten free bread. On checking in, the receptionist referred to the "gluten free room". The reference seemed unnecessary but I figured this at least meant my request had been received and would be satisfied. On the night of arrival I requested at reception Bathrobes in order to use the spa. I was given one and was told the other would be brought to my room in 2 mins. As the spa is only open 4 until 8 my husband and I went to reception a number of times to follow up, being told different things every time. After 40 minutes and a number of trips to reception we got the second bathrobe. Breakfast the next morning was simply terrible - dried out tasteless scrambled egg and fatty greasy bacon were the only hot options- certainly not a 4 standard. Not even a 3 star standard. I requested gluten free bread and was met with the response that I should have ordered in advance. I explained that I had and was eventually given an open packet of chewy stale cracottes. Houffalize is a lovely little town, our room was nice. It's just a shame that the service and the breakfast were so bad.

This hotel was great! The restaurant was amazing French cuisine and the staff was so helpful and nice. The sauna and hot tub was very relaxing. Room was comfortable and clean. The town of Houffalize was so nice and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely come back!

we went for a winter photo reportage to Houfflaize and surroundings. This was the hotel that was recommended by Travelbird... We stayed 3 days, 2 night . This was an excellent recommendation... We can recommend it !

Visited to commemorate the anniversary of the bulge. Picked the hotel as it is relatively close to Bastogne, just down the n30. The hotel looks like it just went through a refurbishment of the rooms. The rooms are modern and comfortable. Additionally, the restaurant is a gem! I have to say that I had one of the best sirloin steaks that I've ever had... definitely worth the money. Additionally, the tall blonde waiter (sorry, didn't get his name) who worked the evening of the 10th of December was a star...

We stayed at this hotel for the Band of Brothers reunion in Bastogne. After such an emotional experience, the friendly service, comfort of our large room and downstairs bar area was a blessing. Food is outstanding. We will come back for a longer stay as the surrounding Ardennes area is gorgeous.
