Can't beat the price...Location was great, close to everything, walking distance...could be cleaner but not horrible

First, the staff at the hotel was excellent. They were the most kind, hard working, outgoing people you could ask for. Always had a smile on their face and were very good at dealing with our family of 6. Also, loved the location as it was easy walking distance to drum and bell towers as well as convenient shopping. The main problems we experienced were constant sound of construction workers drilling with a loud concrete drill in the hallways just outside of our room for the whole stay. Of course we understand that they are making improvements and with this being a hotel there really is no convenient time for construction noise. Not really a complaint but just be aware that it's there. Our biggest complaint was the shower leaked from cracked tiles on the floor, through the wall and into the living area saturating the carpet and leaving a large area wet all the time. The only thing staff could do was put a towel on top of it and say "sorry". The other problem we had was the floor was covered in hair. We have a small 8 month old that was crawling on the floor and hair was everywhere! We asked to have the floor vacuumed to which the staff politely and promptly did (every day after) but the vacuum was so weak it didn't do very much at all. It would hardly pick up small crumbs of tea cake the baby dropped much less the hair. We just loved the staff so much i hate to give a poor review because they were great but the room did need some work. With that said, I would stay again.

Four star hotel rating is too high. We have stayed at many hotels in China and all over Europe and we know a four star hotel when we stay at one. This is at best a 2 1/2 to 3 star hotel. The room was so small that it had no room for a chair or a desk to set one's lap top on. It gave a new meaning to "lap top". We left wake up calls on two separate evenings and we were not called in the morning. The paint on the walls needs some attention and the carpet needed some cleaning. They did not have the capability to call a taxi for us in the mornings.

I (solo traveler) had a great time. I thought the location was great, both 5 minutes walking distance to the wall and the Bell Tower. The room was also very modern looking and comfortable. The staff also spoke english fairly well and was very helpful in pointing me to the subway entrance.

Stayed at this hotel in late June. The hotel is located on a very beautiful street with easy access to subway, restaurants, bell tower and old city wall. The hotel is very quiet and safe. However, its lobby is very simple but not a problem for us. The vent of AC in main bedroom blows cool air directly to the bed, which disturbs sleeping.

Very good location and great English speaking staff, but cleaniness is not their best. Old rooms and not even A/C working properly. Trying to turn the lights on is a real challenge.

We had high expectations but when we got to the hotel, the staff could not find our reservation, however we were able to solve that problem. The room was in the newer wing but the carpets were not vacumned and the room had a musty odor. Amenities were spares and not so good. Probably would not recommend this hotel as there are others closer to the main attractions.

In response to the building's fire safety requirements, the hotel has recently undergone partial renovations. The hotel staff is also trying to avoid the impact of the project on the guests, but it still gives you a bad experience. For this reason, we apologize for the details in the room. great hotel for short stay

nice location for tourist
