Stayed at the Crowne Plaza a week ago for 4 days. The hotel rooms are clean and spacious. Some small strange things - no clear way for how to turn off some of the lights in the bathroom. I ended up leaving some of the lights on during the night each of the evenings. Many switches but none helped in all cases. The restaurant where the daily breakfast is served is somewhat strange - it runs out of supplies quickly. We had to ask for the staff to get beer from one of the hotel bars as they did not have it in the restaurant...at dinner time. The wait staff was slow But overall good value for the money and good overall experience.

Had a great stay at the Crowne Plaza Xi'an. Both the hotel and staff are excellent. We got upgraded to suites with club benefits on arrival. The rooms were beautifully maintained with excellent bathrooms and comfy beds. The buffet breakfast was good . And we had a fantastic meal at B&G51 on the 51st hotel. Excellent service from Anderson and Charming. All our experiences with the staff at the Crowne Plaza Xian were great. We would like to make special mention of Elaine one of the guest relations officers , who was always welcoming and helpful.

As I have received excellent services from crown plaza xiaman so I have great expectations from crown plaza hotel but this one is a disappointment in comparison with other crown plaza hotels. Using IHG ratings from 1 (lowest) to 10 (highest) for each department: 1. Concerige: 2, saved by the Porter that bought my luggage to the room else will be 1! Reluctant and refused to buy train ticket with support from front desk staffs. In stark contrast with crown plaza hotel concerige, which readily stated that it's part of their duties. 2. Front desk : 3, Not very proactive in offering service to IHG member. Reactive and reluctant to give upgrade of room to IHG member, although finally agreed to give room upgrade. 3. Housekeeping: 9, Thanks to the only housekeeper that keeps the room neat and clean and offers evening turn down service too. 4. Café:. 6, Breakfast is generally good but the staffs are too busy running here and there to properly serving customers. 5. Room: 7, generally it's comfortable but facilities are aging...time for refurbishment. 6. Club member lounge: 6. Overall rating: 5.5.

We stayed 3 nights and had a room on the 43rd floor facing the Pagoda, room was large with great bathroom and mini bar. Staff were very helpful. There is an ATM on site so cash is handy. The food at the restaurants is great with a huge variety for breakfast. We splurged for dinner on the 51st floor well worth the view and the meal, take your camera. They organised a box takeaway breakfast as we had an early start on the HST to Lomgmen Grottoes. Overall a great stay. Highly Recommend

Beautiful hotel located in downtown Xi'an. It is considered a 5 star hotel. We did have an Chinese escort so communication was not any problem at the front desk when checking in or at check-out. Great, great breakfast buffet included in our room rate. My husband had a birthday while we were at the hotel, and the front desk surprised us by sending to our room a birthday cake, with plates, forks and candles. Room and bath were very spacious and well stocked with amenities. Staff was very friendly. They tried very hard to speak English. ATM in lobby and you can also exchange USD at front desk. We had two mornings when we had to leave early for the train and/or airport, they packed us boxed breakfasts.

The hotel itself is in an awkward spot for Xi'An tourists. There's not much around the area, but it's perhaps not an unreasonable walk to go to the local museums. If you're looking for shopping or eating options then the local pickings are a bit slim - especially if you don't have any Chinese language skills. We spent a bit of time in the club lounge. The team there was delightful and did everything they could to make us feel welcome. They arranged our trip to the Terracotta Warriors and were able to negotiate a good rate for us if we paid cash, rather than charging it through the hotel. The breakfast in the club lounge, compared to the main restaurant downstairs, was fairly limited but, on our final morning where we needed to leave very early to ensure we didn't get caught up in a traffic snarl and miss our train to Beijing, the lounge team arranged for a 'breakfast box' featuring pastries, biscuits, fruit and apple juice, to be ready for us at 6am. They also made us a takeaway coffee to drink in the taxi to the train station. Our thanks and compliments to lounge manager Anna Tang and the lovely Cindy who both did their utmost to look after us. The room itself was fine. The windows have screens that block a lot of the ambient light and the air-con worked OK, although we preferred to turn it off at night and sleep under just the doona cover. The shower water pressure is good. There could be better lighting in the bathroom though. All told, it was an OK stay and a reasonable base that was quiet at night. It wasn't exactly in the middle of the 'action', so if that's important to you, perhaps look at an option closer to the old city walls.

Crowne plaza Xian is in an excellent location central Chengdu. The staff are all very professional and helpful. The buffet is really good too. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the bathroom is nice. Just outside the hotel are some good places to walk around and shop and many good restaurants nearby.

I just finished my trip to Xian with family. We stayed in the Crowne Plaza for 4 nights. I was very impressed! I will concede it's not the most polished hotel out there but it's certainly one of the best in Xian and maybe in China. 1) staff were well intentioned and helpful. They were very quick to respond to question via email. Upon arrival, I was given an in-room check-in and briefed regarding the amenities the hotel had to offer 2) the rooms are spacious and modern 3) they have excellent gym facilities. Somethings to note 1) location, the hotel is not near any of the main attractions 2) the food was a mixed bag. Food in the lounge and the 'made in palace' restaurant were excellent yet food items in the ground floor restaurant were not as good All in all, a great option while in Xian

Stayed here for an event in mid February. The hotel is pretty new, a couple years old. Tall building. Rooms are big, nicely appointed. Good 4-5 star hardware overall. The Good: 1) Big Room, nice overall hardware, new. Huge bathroom, nice bathtub. Walk in closet 2) Super helpful front desk staff. Woke me up in the morning because I slept through my alarm. Forever grateful, made my flight by less than 2 min! The Not So Good: 1) My only issue with this place is that the room was CRAZY HOT. There are other comments here about this. Aircon is off during the winter, windows can't open, room gets really hot. I asked for fan and got one. Put it about a foot from my head while sleeping and was ok. This issue exists at other hotels in Xi'An too. I have had a similar problem at Sofitel and Hilton, but you can open the windows there so get a bit of relief. They really need to fix this. Otherwise I would only stay here in the summer when the aircon is on.

This hotel was in all very comfortable but my major complaint is that the air conditioning was not available because it was "winter" and as a result the room was stuck at 26 degrees. The windows are locked, so could not be opened. For me this is a big failing, since temperature is something I am very particular about. The hotel staff were helpful in sending a fan up to the room to help but still, being allowed to use the air conditioning seems like it should be an easy thing to fix. Otherwise, the hotel was very good. The selection at breakfast was extensive, the bed very comfortable and the general ambiance very comfortable. Again, hotel staff were very helpful in finding taxis and providing extra water for the room.
