Sofitel Wanda Beijing

This hotel has gone down hill, it seems to be a trend with Sofitel within China. There is no foreign staff present, and it shows. The hotel was very full as I was told, so I was unable to get an upgraded room, the staff made no effort to offer me compensation. As a platinum member, I don't feel like Sofitel in China cares anymore. So, I am likely to start booking elsewhere. The hotel is old and overpriced for what you get...

spacious comfortable room, nice well equipped bathroom with TV, comfortable bed, blackout curtains the hotel looks luxurious, with very nice decor great relaxing swimming pool very nice staff, some with very limited English but they're trying hard and you can always find somebody to talk to, just have a bit of patience, you can also try to communicate in different language for example French I had a feeling that this hotel is trying to be a 5 star but sometimes doesn't know how to do it properly - just small bits and pieces needs improving but generally you feel welcomed and comfortable, although you may not be pleased if you're very demanding person nice selection of restaurants, but closing a bit early as for me, we tried some delicious food, restaurant staff with limited English again but again they were trying so hard and we really felt welcomed there I'd definitely recommend this hotel despite all the small faults as like I said you feel welcomed there and everything is comfortable enough after long days spent exploring vibrant and a bit strange Beijing :)

Lovely hotel , always very pleasant staff Food is good , especially the breakfast in the club lounge on 26th floor. Bedrooms very well presented and extremely comfortable hotel - would highly recommend.

Aside from the convenient location, the excellent service, the splendid choice of restaurants, the oh so comfortable bed, the lovely decor and the fabulous executive lounge I've really nothing to say about this hotel. Other than it will always be my first choice whenever I'm in Beijing!!!

I would like to thank the concierge team for assisting me to translate the address into chinese. Despite their limited English, they tried really hard to help me with whatever I needed. The rooms are spacious, breakfast was great. I will definitely stay here again the next time I visit Beijing.

I stayed here for 5 nights whilst attending a conference and conducting some business in Beijing. This is a good Sofitel that has been kept in good condition, but it is in need of updating in a few areas - decor looking a bit dated, no coffee pod machine in the room, no USB charging port, no music station, awkward light switches, etc. Wifi has nice coverage throughout and didn't require any authentication (not sure if that's a good thing). The club lounge (top floor, 26th) was comfortable and served good breakfast/happy hour. The fitness centre was well equipped and up to date. The pool looked to be a good size but I didn't use it. The staff (especially in the lounge) were most helpful and present. The BMW car service worked very well for pain-free airport transfers and meetings. The price is quite reasonable, but not sure if I will stay here again as there are a few other (e.g. IC Sunlitan, Hilton Wangfujing) more up-to-date Beijing properties for not too much more money.

Very classy hotel conveniently located (subway line #2, stop Dawang Road - direct ride to Silk Market and Tiananmen/Forbidden City). My suite room was grand, with an entrance hall, a living/office room, a spacious bedroom and a huge bathroom. I also enjoyed the Sofitel Club Lounge with complimentary snacks and drinks throughout the day. If there was one thing to improve, it is the "Chinese" way of thinking ... when you ask for something unusual, you first hear a lot of "no" or "it is only possible if". And (a Platinum member, I admit I am spoiled) I missed the personal touch, like the welcome card and little gift in the room.

Advantages.- - Good location - Nice hotel with great decoration - Very nice receptionist Disadvantages.- - Room 1515, the safe in wardrobe is out of order. - Room 1515, Some electrical switch is broken. - Some receptionists cannot speak English, but they try well. - I did not receive the complementary as I am AccorPlus member - Club Sofitel restaurant for breakfast on floor 26th is not satisfied. Not much foods for my choice. I stay in Club Sofitel Suite room 1515 but I must have breakfast on floor 6th instead.

This is a very modern hotel in Beijing. The room are big and very well appointed. The room we had was clean and well taken cared of. Bed are King size and is very comfortable. This hotel is within 5 -7 min walk to a 2 subway stations. Surrounding the area, its served by majors banks. There is a Walmart 2 building away. There is a food court, shopping center and movie in the next building. As a whole, this is a good hotel to stay as it clean and amenities are available around the hotel.

I stayed in the executive floor of the hotel from 24th August till 31st August. The room was very tiny and extremely basic. When I opened the curtains, I could see there was dust flakes everywhere. The room wasn't vacuumed properly. The value for money was not there for booking the executive floor room.
