Arrived 20/9/17 for a four night stay (room 305) - my third visit since 2011. What a difference the recent upgrade has made - my studio room was really good -- the bed no longer rock hard - now extra firm - perfect for a good nights rest. The décor throughout is polished black panelling, a new revolving front door, reception area and chandeliers The dining room has a wide range of breakfast dishes to suit all tastes - enjoyed freshly made omelettes and the small mini muffins - the muffins had a subtle sweet flavour - yum. Well done to the kitchen team. Thanks to all staff - everybody was friendly - the doormen were attentive and found taxi's as needed - Carrie was helpful with tourist advice and appreciated help is purchasing tickets to the acrobat show on short notice on her day off...many thanks. I enjoyed my stay - close to Wangfujing St - Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square - my local friend lived about 15 minutes away - so all activities were easy to do together. Another stay in the future is on the cards.
The front desk was able to speak some english. Check in was smooth. Room came equipped with a full kitchen. Had an electronic in room safe. No usb chargers so you will require a power adapter or converter depending on your country of origin. We were 3 people so one person had to sleep on a cot. The couch in the room was not long enough to sleep anybody. The location is about a 90 RMB cab ride to the airport (with no traffic). There is also a shuttle bus that goes from the airport that can drop you off across the street for about 25 RMB. When you leave the hotel for sight seeing, take the hotel's card as it provides instructions for a taxi driver on how to get to the hotel. You have many shops, restaurants and markets nearby. Its about a 5-10 minute walk to the nearest subway line. The hotel has a gym and pool. The pool is probably 20-25 meters long, but bring a swim cap, it's a new rule they enforced during my stay. There is also a larger sized hot tub. The curtains worked very well to keep out the light, however the street noise was loud even early in the morning, so bring ear plugs. The hotel also provided smaller water bottles, coffee and tea complimentary to the room. If you plan on eating in the room, pack some extra cutlery, there weren't many kitchen accessories even through it had a full kitchen. It also comes with a washer/dryer in one unit, but we never used it. Room was clean, the washroom could have had some caulking replaced in some areas , but no big deal. Toilet paper was rough, but bring some extra from home, you will need it in Beijing anyways when you travel around. There is a restaurant on site we never used as you can find food alternatives very close by.
Lee garden hotel is a great choice with family. We traveled with 2 kids and had the 2 bed apartment which is spacious with 2 big bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living area and small kitchen. The pool area is nice and great for refreshing in summer. Location is very central - 20 min walk to tianmem sq and only 5 min to Wangfunjing shopping street. The hotel is nothing unique or extraordinary and is located with all the other international hotels so possibly not a very authentic strip, but very comfortable and perfect for our stay. I would definitely recommend it to families.
These serviced apartments are very centrally located and easy to get places from. The washing machine in the room made getting laundry done a breeze. The rooms were well set up and designed beautifully. However, the reception counter could use more staff as it was always busy and would take a long time to be served.
If you are looking for a property with a kitchen and washer in the heart of action, I don't think you can beat Lee Garden. It's next to Wangfujing Street/APM Mall where you can find many global retail chain stores and also local stores selling souvenirs etc. Our tour guide commented that any hotel within 5 min walk of a city's flagship Apple Store is prime location and he is not wrong. 20 minutes by taxi to Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven and the Red Theatre. The one bedroom apartment we stayed in was very spacious with a large dining table and comfortable living room/seating area. It was well-furnished and clean. Wood floors might be synthetic but it looks gorgeous with nary a stratch. No grimy carpeting or icky bathroom here. Staff were very helpful with a a minor exception. Communication in English was not a big problem and I only found myself resorting to Mandarin on a few occasions. The girl at the "travel desk" was extremely sincere and helpful and helped us book tickets to the Kungfu show at the Red Theatre. She even went with us to the theatre in a separate taxi at her own expense to make sure we got our tickets at the counter. This property delivers high value for its price. However, if you don't need the kitchen and space to spread out (like us with 2 preschoolers), you can pay less or pay the same for more luxury in the same locality. It's a trade off - no breakfast was included in our rate (no biggie for us) and the finishings were high-end but probably not "luxurious". We are used to independent traveling and generally don't require much assistance with organizing tours and recommendations. Self-catering properties like this are our preferred choice.
We came as a family of 4. 2 adults, 2 school aged children. Very spacious and meticulously cleaned hotel rooms. I'm not sure why it's named 'service apartment' as that sounds strange and almost deflates it, compared to how great this place is. Very quiet, no musty smells that I encountered at other hotels in China. Has a nice indoor swimming pool, hot tub and gym. Wifi is fast. Staff is very polite, and will try their best to understand your English. Very close to the APM shopping mall, pedestrian street, and also the metro. Throughly impressed, and sad to leave the place.
Had fantastic stay to the start of our China holiday. Incredibly helpful staff who helped us when we left our mobile phone and they sent it to our next hotel... so grateful for their help and housekeeper. Lovely, clean, modern 3 bedroom apt. Spacious and high spec furnishing. Perfect for our family, 2 kids , one grandmother. Central safe location, near huge shopping street, restaurants and metro.
Interesting experience in the heart of Bejing, for me it was somewhere to sleep in a comfortable bed, clean with amenities like a washing and small kitchen etc. I was somewhat disappointed in the chipped furniture, rather old and dated, but you get what you pay for and you cannot get a better location.
The hotel location is excellent. The room (apartment - 2bedroom) was clean and very convenient with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a kitchen with some flatware and bowls/plates. The hotel also provided 4 bottles of water a day. The front desk staff was friendly, and spoke English relatively well. I wish the hotel had more tour options though, the tour for the great wall mainly consisted of an expensive tour or a private car rental. Washer/Dryer worked great. The only reason I did not rate this hotel an overall rating a 4 or 5 stars was because of the cleaning staff. Having been to China before, I know I have to carry my own TP everywhere I go - one day, the toilet paper ran out in one of the bathrooms and I expected housekeeping to replace the toilet paper when the room was cleaned. However, when I returned later that day the apartment had been “cleaned” and the toilet paper roll removed BUT NOT replaced. I did not notice until it was too late (if you know what I mean) thankfully I had tissues in the pockets of my pants that I carried for public or restaurant bathrooms, NEVER did I think I would have to use this at my “5 star” hotel. Since it was my last day I did not bother to complain, and thankfully the other bathroom had toilet paper. Also, the cleaning staff did not replace the toiletries appropriately, on one occasion an used vanity kit was replaced with 0 vanity kits and instead I was given 3 dental kits, while the other bathroom was given 2 shaving kits??
I took the one bedroom apt and it was very spacious with living room, dining and kitchen. The room is also equipped with a washing machine. Well suited for a small family. For business travellers, you can conduct short meetings in your unit in the living or dining area, without having to rent the meeting rooms. It can easily accommodate up to 6 people comfortably. The bathroom was huge too. This hotel is located in a very convenient area, just 3 minutes walk from Wangfujing, the main shopping area of Beijing. I would definitely come here again if I'm in Beijing next time.
