Jade Garden Hotel Beijing

Single woman in her mid 30's and I was pleased with my stay. Hotel is in walking distance to many attractions. Bed comfortable. Clean sheets/blanket and towels. Safe. Hotel is old and rooms could be updated. Therefore, if you are an experienced traveler on a budget this is perfect. However, if you are not an experienced traveler you might be uncomfortable/disappointed in the bathroom facilities and stains on the carpet. I would return and recommend to my friends who are more worldly/flexible.

Last time I stayed her was in 2008. The hotel is showing it's age but we didn't spend much time there so we weren't bothered. The location is fantastic. 'd recommend this hotel for anyone who wants a lot of stuff within walking distance and doesn't mind the hotel being dated and worn. The front desk staff spoke a lot less English than I remember but it was good enough to get our questions answered. There is a buffet with a lot of options (Western and Traditional Asian foods), was a bit pricey for China but for the convenience it was worth it.

Hotel is great and staff is friendly. There is ATM machine in lobby that will take foreign cards. Great place to stay

We were in China with a group of family and friends. We checked in and right away realized that communication was going to be an issue. The hotel was older and could use some updates but overall it was a good place for us to stay. For us the location was important and this hotel was close to things that we wanted to see and do.

I thought the Jade Garden Hotel was very nice. It was in a great location, not far from the Forbidden City and Tianmemen Square. The staff was friendly and helpful, although several spoke very little English. There was one bellboy/concierge, Kenny who spoke very good English and was a delight. Rooms were comfortable with adequate air-conditioning. Rooms were cleaned and well serviced. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We had a great experience with this hotel. They were welcoming, helpful and the hotel was well kept and in an AMAZING location.

Older 4 stars hotel - much like a motel instead. Close to the Palace. Very congested roads. You can find better place at this price nearby.

The hotel is in a location close to shopping and attractions. The hotel is a historical site. Breakfast is not included. The internet is very slow.

Very convenience and location is perfect for shopping and sight seeing, especially if you like to visit TianAnMen for the flag rising ceremony. Wifi is very good even in the rooms. Clean rooms and friendly staffs.

Some pros and cons: cons: 1) beds are rock hard, but this is par for the course in Beijing 2) English language fluency Of staff is poor but better Then average for Beijing. Pros: 1) short walk to many major tourist attractions-Tiananmen Square, Forbidden city, Wangfujing shopping area 2) Most but not all staff is generally quite friendly and eager to help. Concierge speaks good English (Joseph), 3) price is excellent

Walking distance to night market, shopping street, good restaurants, Tianamen Square, Forbidden City, great parks etc. Hotel room was ordinary and air conditionning was not available due to season. Staff were great and took good care of you.

Hotel staff spoke okay English. Rooms were a bit old but comfortable. This is not a smoke free hotel, and you can not get a smoke free room. I am not sure if this is common in china or not, I don't have anything to compare the hotel to in china. Breakfast was good and offered a variety. I would stay in this hotel again. 2 complimentary bottles of water, did have CNN and a movie channel in English. People kept talking about going down an alley to get to the hotel, but I never saw this alley. Hotel we right off the street. It is right own the road from a shopping mall and the nine market (where they offer different foods on the street like scorpion, snake, etc...)

The location is the reason to stay here. Easy to all the sites both walking, metro or cab. Staff is friendly and helpful. But if you want to feel like you are in China/Beijing then a Hutong is where to stay. If you want easy access to Beijing sights then this hotel is great.

I was there for only 3 nights, very central location - staff is very friendly and most of them speak english.. rooms are clean, you have a pc in each room for internet access (or use yours with a cable LAN). I didn't have a chance to try the pool or the restaurant there..

It is very nice hotel. The rooms very nice, had internet, had a classy feel and was near to everything including forbidden city.

Outstanding location for the Forbidden City and shopping street. Clean, high class, excellent place to stay.

The hotel was in walking distance of Tiananmen Square, the Foridden City, the night market, and Wangfujing Street. For sites that were further away, the concierge arranged promptly for a cab. The room was large, comfortable, had high ceilings, and was very nicely decorated. The bathroom was very nicely outfitted, the bed was comfortable, and the TV/computer combination was excellent. The breakfast and dinner buffets had very nice selections and were reaasonable in price. When I go back, I plan to stay there again!

The Jade Garden is a very comfortable, well-run hotel in a good location - a 15+ minute walk from Tiananmen, the Forbidden City and the subway, a few minutes from Wangfujing, with a nice buffet and good restaurants nearby. The staff was eager to be helpful at all times. We would definitely stay there again in the future and recommend it to others.

It is not worth the 4 star rating. More like a 2 star rating in US.

PLEASE HAVE A VISA!! We didn't and were not aloud on the plane, but we did get a full refund from the hotel. so YES we would say its a great hotel..
