ibis Beijing Capital Airport

This is a very basic, not very comfortable hotel, that is very close to the Beijing airport. They also offer a shuttle which is very unique in Beijing. So, I would recommend this hotel for someone needing a cheap place to stay between flights and want to stay close to the Beijing airport.

Overall, pretty miserable place. Breakfast was not breakfast, even a hair on the sheet, falling apart.

The Ibis is my "go to" hotel near the Beijing Airport. If offers everything I look for: a free shuttle, a comfortable room, a restaurant open until 10 in the evening. There isn't coffee or tea in the room, but there is a kettle, so as long as you bring the fixings you can brew a cup. Others have complained about the heat, or cold, but I haven't experienced any problem in that regard.

There is no record of my reservation. Luckily they let me stay in the hotel without ask me to pay again. I book a large bed room but it is not available. I have to settle with a double bed room. I stayed in a large bed room a week ago. It is more comfortable than the double bed room.

This was my second stay at the Ibis. The first was much better. This time, i waited outside for more than an hour after having a Chinese person call and ask for a pick up (no excuses for didn't understand!), they said it would take 30 minutes. Then I called back and was told the driver would be leaving soon to come and get me. . . it took another 45 minutes before we were at the hotel. Last time, the small, old shuttle bus was the low spot. It's been replaced by a new fancy electric powered van. The rooms are simple with the basics and the sheets and towels look and smell clean. This time, the shower pan was cracked and buckled when stepped on (a safety issue!!) and there was black mold around the edge of the shower. The first time i was in the left wing (when coming off of the elevator) and it was quiet. This time i went to the right of the elevator and turned down another hall. The room was incredibly noisy and flights rattled the windows. So, there are good rooms and bad rooms. The price is great for a good room i'm not taking the risk of getting a bad one. I won't be staying here again!

Worst hotel ever. Will never go back to this hotel. Not good.

Nice transport staff. Nice basic affordable Airport hotel. Know that the ride to the airport can be 20 minutes in time and that the Terminal 1 & 2 building is extremely far from the Terminal 3 building. They feel more like 2 different airports in nearby towns.

close to airport free shuttle(must contact before) the shuttle from terminal 2 is at 2 floor gate 6. NO WIFI IN ROOMS, only in lobby. bad location to go outside, especially at night.

The room was ok but the service wasn't that great. I had to offer suggestions to solve the problems of other guests. A little critical thinking by the staff would have made the stay more enjoyable for myself and others.

it's okay if you just stay one night for an early flight.

was very convenient for early flight. Shuttle service was very convenience. Tip. there are one foot massage store at next hotel. DO NOT go there. They charged 298 RMB for body massage, was terrible and do not accept visa, master card. only accept Chinese local credit card.

Stay here for only one night due to early morning flight. Near to bus stop to the city and easy to find. Several local stores and restaurant around, good to find a place to eat.

The hotel is near Beijing airport and is much cheaper than downtown hotels. It has free shuttle so you can still visit downtown.

The airport hotel is very cheap compared to downtown hotels. You can take free shuttle to airport and then take subway downtown and save a lot of money.

This is a hotel for airport passengers! The hotel is very convenient to the airport. A free shuttle van to and from the hotel was easy to arrange. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was basic, yet clean and comfortable. There were dining options within a few minutes walk.

Great value. Perfect room for airport transit. Clean and convenient.

If you need to stay overnight near the Beijing airport, Ibis hotel is a solid choice. Take advantage of the new transit visas if you can get one! I had the most comfortable trip across the Pacific - after years of wretched overnights dozing next to my luggage cart - because I got two hot showers and a good night's sleep before the 11-hour flight. There's a free shuttle from all airport terminals (I recommend asking staff at one of the many service kiosks or booths to call for you, much easier and free of charge!), the very-polite desk manager with excellent English checked in those of us who didn't speak Mandarin, and the place was perfectly clean and comfortable. Not a fancy place, but inexpensive, so what do you expect? Eat at one of the restaurants across the street, as the hotel's restaurant seems to be permanently closed, and make it clear you want a non-smoking room. You do need to reserve a spot for the hourly shuttle back to the airport; I did it when I checked in and everything went very smoothly. It's about 15-odd minutes to Terminal 3. The internet situation is not the best: no wi-fi in the rooms and the signal isn't terribly strong in the lobby. I wouldn't want to hang out in this hotel. The bathroom is clean but not luxurious, there is only one non-Mandarin TV channel, but the room I had was rather large and had a firm but comfortable king-sized bed. This is a place for getting a hot shower and good night's sleep. I sleep with earplugs as a matter of course, so I didn't even notice the planes until I was getting ready the next morning. Maybe it would be unpleasant for light sleepers? If you want something nicer, you have to pay more and probably go closer to downtown. One odd thing: a man who didn't work for the hotel took my bag up to my room. I was distracted and thought at first he was just being polite. It turns out he was sort of freelancing as a bellhop and expected a tip. After giving him a few bucks, I later noticed him hanging around the hotel lobby throughout the evening and the next morning, which makes me think this is his regular gig. No big deal, but if you're irritated by that kind of thing, you should be aware (the hotel staff neither encouraged nor discouraged him) and be firm about handling your own bags.

I don't think the staff is trained very well. Location is close to the airport with a couple food places near.

after arrival at PEK, called hotel and they provided the cellphone number of the shuttle driver. it was 5 mins wait before we hopped on to the shuttle. driver and his assistant were nice to help us load the luggages. it was then 10-15mins drive to the hotel. The hotel was located in a not-very-accessible-by-public transportation area near the airport, so it is too close for taxi waiting at the airport to bring you to this place unless you want to do flat rate instead of the meter. The hotel itself feels it was converted from an old office. Good for transit stay, but the shower water was literally dripping. it was too hot that night and we were too tired, so didnt bother. Overall, it is a good hotel for one night transit stay. Evening in, morning out. If you want to stay a bit longer in Beijing, this is not the place. the neighbourhood doesnt seem that safe (well, anywhere in the world is safer than chicago...)

Staff was very rude at us. The night before we asked front desk to book us a bus to airport at 6am on the next day. Within an hour or so, we changed our mind because we planed to catch breakfast that begins at 6:30am. So we informed front desk that we actually wanted a 7am bus. The lady was not happy and said there was no 7am bus, we had to either take 6am bus or get a taxi on our own expense. So we end up took the 6am bus. The next morning, while we were waiting for the 6am bus in the lobby, we happened to talk to someone next to us. And he has booked the 6:30am bus. There were only a very few people waiting for the bus on that early morning. I am pretty sure front desk lady can get us the 7am bus, but she just did not want to bother to help us out. And boy, she was rude! I will never go back to this hotel again!
