Our 3 night stay was enjoyable until check out time. A very unfriendly receptionist accused me of having taken a blue travel towel from the bathroom for which she wanted to raise a charge. I stated that I had not and she demanded I wait while she contacted the tour guide (who was meeting further guests from the airport) I was most offended by her attitude. When I spoke to the tour guide on the phone he immediately said that he believed me and I heard no more. I feel that this individual needs lessons in customer care as this spoilt the image of the hotel
We recently stayed in this hotel as part of a post cruise 3 day trip in Beijing organised by Wendy Wu Tours. The Hotel was clean and tidy, rooms were lovely with all the amenities you would expect from a good hotel - free water was provided to use when cleaning teeth as tap water was not recommended. Bathroom had a walk in shower which was good as well as a bath. The food was good, both at the breakfast buffet which catered for both european and asian diets and provided you with an opportunity to try their food. One night we dined with a number of people who were on the same tour and had a lovely meal, where we took the opportunity to taste everyones dishes. Cost for the food and beer was reasonable considering it was a hotel, spirits were dearer though and a service tax was added. Staff were lovely and always tried to help if they could. Although the hotel was near the University, it was not near the centre of the town and transport was required (on a good day a taxi cost 40 yuan to the the hyatt hotel) to get to interesting places to visit at night when not involved on the tour. Would I stay here again? If it was part of an organised tour then yes, but given a choice then no, but only because of the location and not for any other reason.
We stayed in this hotel after cruise and spent four days on city tours. The hotel room is large and well equipped. The bathroom has large bath and huge shower, magnifying mirror. The staff are professional and courteous and all speak English. The breakfast buffet offers both English and Asian food. There is large comfortable bar area with pianist where you can also purchase coffee and snacks.
We spend 4 nights at this hotel. The personnel is friendly, and most of them speak english. The restaurant for dinner, is good, and the food is well prepared. The breakfast buffet is excellent, also a lot of european dishes. In the lounge area there is a bar, where you can go in the evening, and listening to the piano player is lovely. But for a couple from scandinavia, and a room temperature around 24-26 degress is simply awfull. The air condition was not working, and they would not switch it on, as it was "wintertime". I wold have rated it as a 4 star. But with 4 nights with bad sleep due to high temperature in the room, the rating of three is deserved.
Excellent room but unable to get air conditioning to work. The room had free wifi. Of the three hotels we stayed in during our visit to China this one had the poorest breakfast on offer in terms of a full English but lots of other options available.
Good size clean rooms and a good buffet breakfast. Public areas lacked any sort of atmosphere and the bar area was particularly bland. There's a massive supermarket opposite the hotel (follow a local across the road to avoid taking your life in your hands) and a KFC if you feel the need. The hotel is also next to the velodrome from the 2008 Olympics and worth a stroll if you get a chance.
Stayed for three nights as part of a short tour of China. The room was excellent as were other parts such as the main lobby and dining room. Everywhere was very clean and the staff we spoke to spoke very good English. Cannot comment on the food other than breakfast, which was very comprehensive, as most meals were taken at restaurants during the day.
Excellent room , very comfortable , great bed & mattress. Shower was excellent. Enjoyable breakfast. Good WiFi. I enjoyed my stay here , there is a KFC over the road for anyone missing some comfort food.
We had a 3 night stay here as part of a Wendy Wu China Delights tour. One of the best hotels we stayed at as part of this tour. The room was of a good standard with complementary water and free Wifi. Heating in room was good and needed to be as it was very cold in November. The breakfast is excellent with good western and Chinese food. Cannot comment on room value as this hotel was booked by Wendy Wu. Overall judged by European standards this would pass as a European three to four star hotel. There is a supermarket nearby, but you need to cross a busy road with several lanes of traffic. The lights change quick and watch out for scooters that ignore the lights! There are places to eat near by but we needed our tour guide to show us to where they were.
We arrived late in the evening. Hotel check in took less than 15 min for a group of 10. We were be able to go to our rooms in no time. Information stand near the entrance is very helpful. Hotel service is professional. Rooms are lovely, new and modern. Sofa in the ground floor area is too old and too soft. Plenty variety in the restaurant for the breakfast. Lovely presentation and taste good. It is a good hotel for business, leisure or family.
