The hotel was very hard to find since the entrance is in an alley way. When I checked in I had a very difficult time communicating because the people at the front desk do not speak English. Although the room was paid, they wanted $200 Yuan as a deposit. They will not accept a credit card for this deposit. I knew I had chosen a room without windows, but as I was walking towards the room I noticed a restaurant and a smelly toilet near the rooms. That smell just lingers in the room. There several gnats flying in the room. The beds are rock hard. I had book for 3 nights, but after I saw the roaches I had to leave. I attempted to let the staff know why I was leaving early, but they just did not understand. The shower and the toilet are squished together. As soon as I turned on the shower the entire bathroom was flooded. The pictures that you see advertised are no where near what the rooms downstairs look like. I would recommend that you pay a little more and stay at a much better hotel.
One of my worst hotel experiences so far. No wifi in the hotel. No English spoken by anyone. How do they expect to communicate with their guests? Oh, they tried a useless translator once. Check-in was a nightmare. Although we had paid in advance for three nights, they insisted on us paying 200 Yuan for the minibar in advance. When we got to the room, angry as hell, we realized that there wasn´t even a minibar in the room (we had three different rooms), only two bottles of water that were 3 Yuan each! Very dated and worn rooms. Toilet ring broken in two out of three rooms. Beds were OK. Breakfast=lousy. Staff attitude: worst ever. Cannot understand how they survive with real, luxury hotels nearby for just double the price. Will never let my travel agency book again.
This hotel has a great location. That is only plus point of this hotel. Very close to shopping market Wangfujing street. Room were average. Even one can hear conversations from other rooms. People at reception do not speak or understand English which creates much frustration. Very lousy service. They even served us leftovers from yesterday's breakfast on next day. Restaurant is very stinky. Apart from location I will rate they 1 star.
This hotel is in a great location and that is the best I can say about it. Our room only had a box spring on the bed covered by a sheet, and a comforter on top of that. I like a firm mattress but this was not even a mattress and it was very hard. Also the room smelled of sewage gas. We blocked off the tub drain at night and it helped a little. No one spoke English. The desk stated there was internet in the lobby but the internet was obtained by using an unsecured site of someone in the neighborhood. The front desk staff was unfriendly and rude. They never smiled at anyone and weren't helpful.. I would strongly discourage anyone from staying at this hotel.
To me only one star for the location, lousy service for every thing, dirty room, dirty bath room, and it shared same floor ground no separation ,shower pipe leak water every where, bad customer service on every categories, one thing I have to mention that is security guard want to check your luggage I have never see this thing where I had traveled around the world, they rated 3 star was mislead me and it will be happened to some public
Staff seemed rude and even belligerent Room was shabby, but would have been acceptable if the staff were more pleasant and helpful. Was relieved that it was only a one night stay. No English spoken at desk, and not able to get breakfast before my day tour. Was told no WiFi anywhere in room.
Nice location, few minutes walk from Wangfujing which is main shopping and walking street in heart of Beijing city. Quiet place, especially rooms below ground level. Room was warm even it was cold winter. Even no window with room, staying was pleasant and bed was good. Tiny shower room was adequate. Hotel was restaurant with very reasonable price and good quality food (at least lunch). Location of the hotel is excellent, subway station in same building (other side) and if you can use buses, that is also available just few steps from hotel door. Small kiosk around the hotel (as usually in Beijing hutongs).
After travelling for two and a half years and staying in all sorts of places we stayed here for one night on our way home. This place was so bad I would actually take the time to write about how bad it was. The staff where the first disaster, I have never in mylife met such biligerence and ignorance, they were actively rude to a degree that Ryanair staff could only hoe to achieve, when we went to the room it was basic but fine, until after six in the evening when the smell of sewage came and remained for the night, the hall to our room seemed to be storage for a massive vat of sitting food that stank up the hall for the night. At about 3am due to the unbelievable heat, despite it being -5 outdoors I went to ask could I buy some water, which I politely asked for and signed to indicate what I wanted, I was met with flat ignorance being told in an agrivated manner, no no no no no. Once I went out and found a shop to get water and came back I was stoppped agressively in the hall and after the person stopping me in the hall on the way to my room finished his phone conversation he proceeded to offer me sex until I pushed past him, after firmly saying no a number of times. The place also was extremely difficult to find, with the local people both in and outside hotels either flat refusing to provide any help or sending us in the wrong direction a number of seperate times, in China internet is difficult to get so we couldn't even get directions online. To be honest short as our stay was I got enough of china to do me a life time, on top of not going to the hotel I would recommend giving China a miss altogether, there are better places to see, populated with people who deserve your money and actually have a culture.
I usually stay here once a year and hotel is very consistent with quality. Good location and staff. Usually they upgrade you when possible. Restaurant could be better though, although difficult to find good food in Beijing.
Room is ok, but smells bad. Breakfast is lousy for the price of 15 yuans, definitely not worth a cent. Restaurant where it's served is dirty and service is bad. The lady who was in charge kept on watching tv. People smoke in the elevator, everywhere in the hotel. Location is very convenient, since it's only a 50m walk from the mtr Dengshikou station.
