Stayed at the hotel the night before our flight from Luton airport. Transfer sorted for us and arrived on time. Not far from airport at all. Modern and clean hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Really enjoyed our stay here!
This is a great hotel The staff are so helpful and polite nothing is too much trouble for them The food is great The beds are really comfortable and the rooms quiet and perfect temperature- so great nights sleep Would definitely recommend for anyone travelling from Luton airport as really close to the airport and so much better that the anonymous chains at the airport
We stayed at the Icon in order to visit Whipsnade Zoo and London. It was a good choice and I recommend asking for the eggs at breakfast! The staff couldn't have been more helpful, they even spotted that I had left my car window open and covered it up. Free parking was a treat.
I have stayed in an icon hotel before and it is a great chain. The service from the check-in staff was amazing, including one guy meeting us in the car park to carry our bags in. I understand it was the lady on receptions first day, but she was outstanding. Clean, comfortably and surprisingly affordable. My one fairly substantial disappointment was breakfast. There is no reason on earth to replace filter coffee with instant, it is just not acceptable. (The menu says filter coffee, I saw granules of instant around the coffee pot lid) - and it was tepid warm, not hot. Other than that breakfast was ok but not really outstanding. Breakfast staff seemed overrun which meant asking for stuff (you have to order eggs) makes you feel like you are imposing. As I said at the start, it is a great hotel, let down a bit by breakfast.
What tricks this people play??? I expect a refund from the money what I paid. The shower didn't run properly. And the air conditioning didn't work in the room, although the staff at the bar was polite but the bar was poorly stocked and the restaurant was closed when we arrived. We there for had to brave hordes of yobos in Luton town centre to find somewhere to eat.
We were there overnight and were very well received. The rooms are clean if a bit on the small size, but all the necessary amenities are there. The breakfast was delicious and the staff very attentive, polite and helpful. It is central and close to the mall. I would definitely recommend this hotel
Went over to Luton last weekend for a Funeral just stayed for the one day and night the staff could not do enough for us I can not recommend this hotel enough excellent excellent lovely staff room was spotless
Myself and my husband stayed here for three days, We arrived at 10.30 in the morning from an early flight from Ireland and the lovely receptionist was able to give us a room that early. We went into London and when we came back to our room, they had the curtains closed, bed turned down and there was a chocolate cookie and a teabag by the bedside. I thought that was a lovely touch. The staff were brilliant, especially cheeky Harry ..who was able to chat about all the wines, the two recepionists, The waitresses in the restaurant, especially in the mornings were all lovely too. Food was really good too. It's a fab funky hotel and will be back! We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you.
My husband booked this for my daughter and me on a long stopover. I was so pleased with it and it actually made my holiday even more pleasant! It's a quirky and funky little boutique hotel with excellent staff. Lovely people working there make the stay more pleasant so thanks to everyone!
I travel about 180 days a year, so I stay in quite a few hotels of all types, so I guess I know something or two about hotels. First the good The staff was friendly. Now the rest.... I arrived from an overnight flight from the states and so I wanted to immediately get some rest. When I went to close the drapes the air conditioning vent was BEHIND the drapes so absolutely NO airflow! It's hard to sleep on a hot July day with no air circulating. The rooms are tiny. Virtually every hotel in the world has an in-room safe, from your Motel 6 / Novotel to the Ritz Carlton, the Icon also had a safe however it wasn't attached to anything, it was simply sitting on the closet shelf! Now the bathroom, the shower was grungy, the bathroom tiny. Location The Icon is in downtown Luton, during the day Luton is fine, after dark, I recommend not venturing to far. The one bright spot to the location is that one of the better Indian restaurants Red Chili is next door. There is also a nice mall close by. I don't understand the high ratings by other travelers, for me I am being generous with a 2. There are not many good choices in Luton, however the Hilton Garden Inn is a much superior choice.
