I stayed at this hotel this weekend with my sister who was visiting from out of town. The rooms are outdated in that there wasn't a microwave or enough plugs for our cell phones and laptops. The room was also dusty and musty. I was surprised the continental breakfast time ended so early on the weekend. I might stay there again if these issues are addressed.

This was an older facility that was clean, but still a bit "Musty." It did have a great restaurant, with a complimentary breakfast. Plus an in-house full bar, and it was highway close. If one is just passing through, this hotel would do with a nice restaurant that is right inside the hotel.

We stayed one night on 05/15, in the 2-story wing. Upon entering the room, we noticed a "musty" smell. Ate dinner at the onsite property, service and food were very good. Free breakfast from 0600 - 0730. It was OK, hash browns were the fast food variety, but they did have grits and biscuits and gravy. Hotel was very quiet, the rooms on either side of us were empty, which helped a lot. There is an onsite restaurant and bar, also a swimming pool, with a large deck area and plenty of chairs. Overall, if you are looking for a place to crash, this isnt a bad place. Just wish something ciuld be done about the odor.

My husband and I recently spent a week at this Holiday Inn, as we were in town for my mother's funeral. The staff found out why we were in town, and treated us like family during our entire stay! Miss Mary and Melinda helped start each day with gentle, attentive care in the breakfast area. Miss Mary in particular, with her warm hugs as she saw me tear up over the reason for our visit, was a God-send. Amanda at the front desk inquired into our well-being each day, and asked if there was anything that we needed. The house-keeping staff did a great job in our room, which was very clean. Even the bartender was extremely kind and caring! The only complaint from us comes from the musty smell in the hall, and in the room if the air-conditioner is not turned down to about 65-66. However, it IS the Gulf Coast, and the humidity is constant! Overall a great stay!

I liked it; clean room; choice of smoking rooms for smokers great pool area, plus nice bar friendly staff and good meal; very good for price; plus easy access to freeways to wide areas and streets to down town

I first started using this Holiday Inn about a year ago or more. Since then I have seen it continue to decline. Breakfast use to be a high point of my day at this Holiday Inn, now you have to be standing at the breakfast area at 6am if you hope to get a yogurt. Think they put out about 6 each day. I visit the area about twice a month and each time for 2-3 nights; 2-3 coworkers have the same schedule and same complaints. On my last visit this week, the guest internet was down for minimum of 2 days. Found roach in my room. Tv did not work and thus moved to another room, thank you Ethan. I am fortunate to receive a less expensive rate as a veteran, which I do appreciate, but my rate has still increased from approximately $86 a night to $109 on latest visit; all midweek visits. Two coffee containers in lobby are always empty by 7:30am, and in a year I have never noted where they have been refilled. Bright spot, front desk crew is great. Some young people like Ethan, Kirsten and Charlene always put a smile on my face and greet me like family. My coworkers all brag on front desk. Unfortunately, if there is no change the Holiday Inn in Beaumont charges me the same rate, has great breakfast buffet, clean rooms; but I will miss front desk from Port Arthur center.

First and foremost , the staff were very good! I kind of feel bad about leaving this review, but after being there a whole month ... It's over due! As soon as I walked into the hallway , BAM OLD musky smell! I guess it's from the aged carpets, same smell was in my room. I don't know whether or not to complain about one of the elevators that constantly broke down, the roaches or the fleas first, yes people... They allowed pets! I would HIGHLY recommend staying at the holiday inn express down the street . I have always stayed at holiday inns , and have NEVER encountered or had so many fleas bite me in my life! This hotel was a total let down... Period!

Very old run down hotel that has roach problems there aware but they don't do anything about it others have said they have to kill and fight roaches every night I would not recommend this hotel the tv also goes out from morning till afternoon phone makes noise for no reason at 5 in morning did not request awake up call maids cleaning skills lack on few things like base of toilet and by the toilet seat mounts I recommend finding a non infested hotel for your money

I was very disappointed in this Holiday Inn. First it was myself and a friend. Both ladies, we were not aware that the only double rooms were in the back with an outside entrance. The light in the bathroom was out but that was fixed very fast. We went to have dinner with friends and had not turned on the TV before we left. We got back at about 10 and did not have a remote for the TV. We called the front desk and were told they couldn't bring us one until 7. We really didn't want to get woken up so said never mind. I am a Priority Club member and felt we should have been compensated for the inconvenience. I didn't ask and they didn't offer anything. May I should have ask. We had booked for 2 nights but checked out after one.

Daughter was returning to college (Lamar U is about 10 minutes away!) after leg surgery. The staff was so accommodating in changing the reservation to get us in a room on the first floor with hands-cap accessibility. The temp was perfect when we walked in- so many places leave the air off and it's hot when you arrive. They were hosting a class reunion so there was light noise in the lobby but never heard anything once we got to our room. Super comfy beds and linens. Definitely my choice of places to stay when I return to visit her at school!!
