To be honest, there were some areas of concern upon our arrival at this hotel, but most of them were caused by outside factors beyond the control of the hotel staff. Access to and from the hotel from the interstate was hindered by road construction. Heavy rains had caused the carpeting in our room to be damp, but the staff had placed a humidifier in the room to help it dry. The elevator was out of operation at the time of our arrival, but the desk clerk made sure that I was able to stay in a first floor room sure to my disabled status. The desk clerk offered a different room, however, there were no additional rooms available on the first floor, so we opted to remain in our original room. The beds were a little uncomfortable, but that's a matter of personal preference. The staff was very friendly, the breakfast buffet was superb, the overall facility was very nice, and every concern was dealt with quickly and with the utmost courtesy, hence the excellent rating. We would stay there again for sure.
As Marriott Rewards members - we really should have booked online from the car before heading to the check-in desk... I think we'd have gotten a better deal, but we consider it a "lesson learned". Anyhow, this property (as well as some of the surrounding neighborhood streets) appear to be undergoing a slow-moving, sometimes noisy renovation. We certainly could have done worse for the money we spent... but we left the next morning feeling oddly-unfulfilled. That being said, I believe we'd be happy to try here again.
I redeemed my points here for a one night stay while driving cross country to California. My room was comfy, clean and quiet as you would expect. The breakfast in the morning was great, one of the best of my 24 day trip. I would surely stay here again and despite what others have written about finding the location, it was simple and right off of I-10. I think if others rely less on a GPS and more on their sense of direction, it's an easy find. Parking was easy here as well unlike the rest of my journey.
I stayed here twice in last two months. Both times with nice big room. Glad to have the microwave and frig. I did use the fitness center and their equipment is professional. The stay in June they had finished the remodeling of entrance and i did not see any work going on. Will stay here again. Got great price online at second party website. We did ask for a change of sheets because they were balled up / worn - which they accommodated nicely. Also very nice about late check out. Very nice housekeeping manager too.
Had a fire alarm in hotel, front staff was calm and maintained order as hotel evacuated and fire dept (arrived in under 3 minutes) cleared the hotel and all patrons returned to rooms. Never been in such an orderly hotel evacuation. Minor problems with room were addressed promptly and satisfactorily by hotel manager. I'll definitely stay here again.
I stayed at the Fairfield Inn during a business trip recently. The rooms were very nice and quiet. The shower was really great with high pressure. I think the best part was the complementary breakfast they serve in the morning. It had everything you could possibly want and everything was clean and well stocked. The oriental lady in charge of the dining area was very nice and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.
The hotel rooms where clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly and help full. My complaints for this hotel was that the cable went out Friday night and didn't come back until the Saturday mid day. The Elevator stopped working and was out of commission most of the day on Saturday. The mini Fridge in the room was not working and the ice machine was not working either. I was unable to get ice the entire weekend. The indoor pool was hot. it felt like a sauna in there and the kids where only able to tolerate it for a short time.
We booked the hotel knowing the lobby and he entrance were under construction and got a good price. The lobby is done, looks great, the entrance is making progress. The staff was super friendly. However, there are huge potholes in the parking lot. The rooms are old and in serious need of renovation, chips in the tub, dark and dated decor. There was a dehumidifier in the room, asked if the carpet had just been shampooed, was told because it's so humid in Beaumont they were needed to help the air conditioner keep up. Uh huh. In New Orleans now, it's kinda humid here and the A/C is keeping up just fine...you need new units! The wireless was nonexistent, able to connect in the lobby only and it was SLOW. Sorry but his place isn't up to Marriott standards.
We stayed overnight, arriving around 10:00 pm. After having trouble finding it, everything else went smoothly. This is an old but recently renovated property, with all new furniture. It was very clean and comfortable. The staff were all cheerful, helpful, and courteous. We had requested rooms on the top floor, away from the elevators, and close together, and they delivered! Breakfast was great--eggs, omelettes, sausage, Canadian Bacon, bananas, apples, oranges, fruit salad, etc. The only negative was the lack of overhead cover at the entrance--it's the final part of the renovation and should be completed soon. This is a great overnight stop just off I-10. We will be back!
What friendly and professional staff members here, so helpful and always with that Marriott smile! Construction, yes. Noise, not a whisper of such. So fear not, just come and enjoy the lavish breakfast (including fresh apples and bananas, individual milk cartons, sliced fresh strawberries), plenty of parking, windows that open for a breeze (and heavy black-out curtains that work on noise too if you are a light sleeper), best shower pressure ever -- and again, people like Danielle and Missy. Nice job!
