Great time away in a very quiet setting and surrounding. Very friendly and helpful staff at check in and throughout the hotel. Excellent service provided and room was very specious and clean. Nice walk to Paihia main strip, shops and restaurants. So many activities to do in the area and a big plus it's right next to the Waitangi Golf Club with magnificent views all around.
This Resort is in a beautiful location on the shoe of the Bay of Islands and only a few hundred metres from the Waitangi Treaty Grounds .There is a regular shuttle from the Resort to the nearby town of Paihia. My room was very good, the Restaurant was excellent and the staff were friendly and efficient . I highly recommend this Hotel/Resort
Outstanding location with great amenities. We found the cigarette smoke from neighboring guest made our stay uncomfortable and not as nice as it should of been. We have suggested to management a designated smoking area be considered.
We loved this hotel and were very happy we had paid the extra for a sea view. No issues with noise at night. Good location. Beautiful walk into Paihia or courtesy bus if required. Ample parking. Next door to Waitangi treaty grounds. Very good breakfast choices. They also do delicious pizza on the snack menu! We didn't eat in the restaurant at night. Staff were very friendly and courteous. We had an issue which was resolved to our satisfaction. Pool area pretty and views are beautiful all around hotel location and Paihia in general Only criticism is no air-conditioning in bedroom. Not an issue for us as it was March but if it had been any hotter we may have struggled without it. Would overall highly recommend!
Firstly, they dont have Air con in their and their rooms are very old as well. 2ndly during our checkout, they told us that u can extend your check out from 10 am to 12 pm for 40$ but in the mrng they called us at 10 and told us to leave the room in 30 mins max, or else they ll charge us half the days rent. So overall very very disappointing
right next to the ocean and with a pool made of large stones. Everything was ready for a bounty holiday. then there was an excellent buffet with different shellfish and sheep meat plus cheese and cold dishes. to go with that a very pleasant white wine. you could by it during happy hour (2 hours with reduced prices on bear and some wines) We had the luck of sunshine during the stay, that made it even better
Were booked into the Copthorne, but they had double booked so we were down graded to another hotel, very disappointing as we had googled the hotel and it looked good. I still don’t get the concept of double booking in this day and age?? We were having a meal the first evening in the town and there was a corporate function going on, when the speeches started they thanked the Copthorne for putting them up which was a kick in the teeth for us. One member of our party was given a complimentary 3 course meal as compensation - would have been nice to have all been treated fairly. Bad show Copthorne!
A lovely hotel. Our room had a balcony and we were in a part of the hotel that was close to the water. What amazing views. The hotel had a shuttle bus to the main area but when returning took about 15 minutes to answer the phone to request a shuttle back to the hotel. Not very efficient. Wifi was good. Food was disappointing as there was pork and shellfish which we do not eat. The safe in the room was out of order. There was no air conditioning and it was very hot and humid. Ended up sleeping on a bathroom towel as the bed sheets was increasing the heat. There was a ceiling fan which was not effective. This alone would prevent me from making a return trip to this hotel. There was an outside pool area.
I was lucky to be upgraded to an ocean view room - absolutely gorgeous view over the bay and overlooking the swimming pool. Room was fresh and clean and bed was comfortable. Service was really friendly and staff were very helpful. Buffet dinner was good value, and although the hot food was nothing special and a bit over cooked, the seafood was fab and there was a good dessert and cheese selection. Breakfast was also pretty good. Pool complex was lovely.
We were here for a music festival and knew the place would be busy. But the staff were all great - always friendly and helpful. The setting is gorgeous. Our room had everything we needed for a 2 night stay - comfy bed, good-sized bathroom with extra towels, TV with a movie channel and a sports channel, free WiFi, refrigerator, ceiling fan, and an outdoor seating area. The hotel (and its surrounding resort) is a bit dated though. The swimming area was very noisy and the deck chairs need a make-over. While our room was fine, I didn't understand why we had bunk beds in our room when we were only a couple. I would have much preferred the beds out and had some extra space to move about the room. We ate breakfast in the restaurant and the food was good - though it was a bit pricey. Overall, this is a fine place for families. But for couples who would like a more quiet and relaxing stay, I would steer clear.
