Well the positive is it is a roof other your head ! Booked through a rewards program with caution as you would all areas recently impacted by flooding and hurricanes. It was just a single night on a long journey and there were other positive reviews. Well it looked ok initially on first sight, but when in the room a short time and the cleaning fluid smells wore off beware. Mold stuff growing out of the a/c-heat vents, even the corner cobwebs were dusty plust other broken things. Did not pass the smell test nor the bare feet on the room floor. (so sorry I can not post pics but phone died before I backed them up so went my evidence I intended to send directly to hotel mgt)
This is a nice property, although it's a bit hard to find as it's "hidden" behind other places. Once we got there we were happy. The room was large with 2 double beds, flat screen tv, microwave and refrigerator, desk and chair. There was also a separate area with a sofa and coffee table. The beds were comfortable although not as firm as I would like. My husband thought they were great. The only negatives I found were a toilet that ran on and off by itself, and a toilet paper holder that was broken. Housekeeping should have reported this so it could have been fixed.
We were traveling to Houston to attend a class reunion and needed a convenient stopping place in between. This hotel fit the bill. Traveling westward, being on the west side of Baton Rouge allows an early morning departure without the hassle of morning city traffic. The hotel is quiet and the rooms are large. The hot breakfast was minimal but good. Staff was friendly and helpful. It is a great value for a good night's stay.
Nice, quiet visit with my boyfriend. Clean rooms. Close to the interstate. No real good restaurants around. Just some fast food abd gas stations but still a good place to stay. Not bad price. Would stay here again.
great hotel. great staff. clean pool. next to the visitors bureau - grandson made a kite and had his picture taken with the stuffed alligator. suites have a jacuzzi, two tvs and two a/c units - very large with work space.
Easy access from interstate.Clean and well furnished. The tv was good quality. The linens were fresh & clean. Mattress & pillows were comfortable. Coffee in the room was tasty. Negatives-bathroom door wouldn't close & breakfast was poor quality.
Check in was good. We had booked two rooms. The first room had a toilet with feces from pervious guests. Had a room change on another floor. The second room had us locked out for two hours. When we received another room it filled with a smoke smell and trash was still in the room. The third room bathroom door wouldn't close properly if shut close the shower came on. We only received a $20 credit on two rooms.
My final night on the road, and I was truly exhausted! I was very glad to find this Comfort Suites Hotel very conveniently right off the freeway. Again, a good staff and clean, comfortable room. Unfortunately, there were no eating places within walking distance, and I ended up having a vending machine dinner of popcorn and chocolate! Breakfast was the usual eggs and sausage - well made, but not quite hot enough. One of the other guests was talking quite loudly, so I took my breakfast and retreated to my room. Upon comparison, the coffee from the in-room maker was tastier than the dining room coffee.
When we arrived with our group who had reservations I was quite surprised to find mouse droppings on the towels in the bathroom. Others in our group had similar problems with their rooms. Front desk moved us to another room and it was fine.
We stayed here with my daughter's softball team. I liked that we were able to get off the interstate right before Baton Rouge traffic starts backing up. It is an easy on/ easy off Interstate location. Our coach had called in advance asking for an early check in. Unfortunately when we arrived only 1 or 2 rooms were ready. Which was not a big deal, we went just down the road & had lunch at Bergeron's (great place to eat!). When we came back some of the rooms were ready. I was fortunate, while my room wasn't completely ready -I was able to put my luggage in the room - housekeeping was in the room cleaning & she did a wonderful job. Some of the other parents staying here weren't as lucky & their rooms which were marked as clean & available were not clean (dirty sheets that had not been changed & rooms that smelled of urine, missing shower curtain, etc). The front desk guy was really nice & friendly. The free breakfast was good but I found that they couldn't keep up with supply & demand on biscuits, eggs, etc. so there was a wait for food. The elevator was so slow & had tiles that were cracked & broken. The room itself was comfortable & I liked that there was a fridge & microwave in each room. The only issue is that the pillows (which are a good density) are the size of a square envelope. They are so small that it's hard to get situated. Also, there was a group of traveling workmen staying here & apparently had been for some time. We were on the same floor as them. A few of them were stumbling down drunk each night, standing in the hallway making comments & leering at our girls--our dad's took care of this-- but I wish that the hotel would have kept this in mind when giving out rooms -especially safety wise, as this could have been a dangerous situation. This hotel is starting to show signs of its age & could use some sprucing up. For the price of the room, I think I would have preferred to stay in Baton Rouge where there were more amenities & things to do.
