Overall the room was spacious and clean. The couch in our room needs to be replaced (didn't sit on it). Other than that the service was great. I can not complain. This hotel is great for those traveling on a budget.

The hotel was older than I expected and the lobby is kind of cheesy. I had a smoking room but the smell was horrendous. I have always requested smoking rooms but this room had no way to get fresh air in so years of smoke had accumulated. It was to far away from everything and I hated it.

It was okay for a 1-night stay. Interesting set up but the room had poor lighting and I found a baby roach near the sink. Bed was comfortable and I slept just fine. Breakfast included.

The room was of course really clean, bed was much more comfortable than I expected... But the lady working the front desk was by far the most friendly hotel staff person I've ever encountered. I lost my wedding band in our room. She was great (it was found). Such a great hotel and location for the price. Will definitely stay there again. Oh and the breakfast was great.

Friendly and helpful service. Good location. Clean and neat

It was just for one night but it was overall way more than I anticipated from a hotel. It really was beautiful and it really surprised me when I walked inside. There is not very much going outside and the location could be better but it really great to be there!

Great service at the check-in desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean, but there was a nauseating smell that was difficult to get used to. Good price for a one-night stay.

Nice fresh plants in the courtyard and water feature. Staff is excellent!

The hotel was great for a short business trip for two of our employees. Nicely located. Friendly staff. Pretty quaint hotel that we would use again if we're back in town.

Best hotel for the price! The hotel is well organized, rooms (we had two) are clean and very comfortable, a good breakfast included in the day rate, good wi-fi and free parking. The perfect staff and service.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was nice and comfortable.

Great staff and awedome breakfast. A little out of they, but worth it.

We booked a two queen bed suite and loved it. The facilities are not the newest but that doesn't detract from the large suites and the gorgeous central courtyard. I don't know when the refab was done but they did an good job, my husband knows refab and there are 'simple problems' like the sink in 212 has the sink drain on backwards. The staff is friendly and helpful, the grounds are well kept, the location is near both hospital, downtown, and hi-life... what's not to miss? Oh, did I mention the inside garden courtyard is beautiful and manicured?

Only stayed one night, but it was wonderful! The "chateau" atmosphere was classic and adorable. The staff was courteous and attentive. The rooms are large, comfortable and clean. Not much in the area in terms of food/entertainment, but the drive into downtown Baton Rouge is short and easy. The breakfast options were great, but I wish it would've been available later into the morning for us who'd like to sleep in a little. Overall a great place to stay!

This hotel was the perfect choice for me that weekend. it wasn't far from where I was working and the price was reasonable for all it offered. I would definitely stay here again!

Your bartender at your hotel is the best thing you have going for you. As for the front desk they are dumber than a box of rocks. When we called ahead for directions they gave us directions to the hotel that were not possible on roads that didn't match up to their directions. We did finally figure it out on our own The next day we asked the man at the front desk in regards to the nightly parade in town and he said the parade was two weeks prior Yet we went to Baton Rouge and figured out the nightly parade on our own Customer service at hotel was terrible!

I was in town for two nights for the Louisiana Marathon which was a lot of fun. I also wanted to sample a bit of Louisiana culture and this hotel was a great base. The location on Florida is fine for driving here and there but you can't walk anywhere. Rooms are big, all suite, as advertised. The building is dated, but everything was clean and functional. The pool is too small for laps and there is no jacuzzi. The atrium was nice, classic Louisiana style. The breakfast was good and all staff were friendly. The only problem I had was that I got a smoking room even though my reservation clearly says non-smoking. It was a little strange, but I am not too picky about such things. I only paid $80 per night before taxes, which I consider a good value. If you want something more polished, I guess you could pick one of the chains with more consistent quality, but if you want some character, this BW is for you :)

Very comfortable bed. Clean bathroom. Big rooms. Stream and sauna. The rooms can block all the daylight.

We chose this hotel for the French Quarters experience. The iron fences around the rooms gave that flavor and that is where it ended. There was no zydeco music or any other Louisiana theme noted. The rooms were Ok, but the inner white doors in the room needed a good wash down ( dusty)

The good: Desk staff was friendly & helpful. The lobby and other guest services including breakfast and the business center were nice. The lobby and big room area appeared clean and were nicely decorated without being too gaudy. Not too far from the airport and no street noise as it is a block or so off the main drive. The not so good: They serve drinks only in the pub (no food). Not the happening place to be for Monday night football. No shampoo in the bathroom and the second day, housekeeping left another bottle of conditioner but no shampoo (they gave me a bottle of shampoo at the front desk). The bad: The room had dirty carpet (white socks looked like I walked across a grocery store parking lot in them), and a wash cloth from the previous guest (?) was hanging on the shower curtain rod. Some unknown material was on the night stand that washed away (it was not a water ring from a drink). The ugly: A big roach went hiking across the floor in the middle of the night. It was brought to the front desk staff. They seemed sorry but not surprised. It made me nervous as I hear about hotels like this and the bedbug problems (none were noticed). Nice location, decor, and facility, but more effort needs to be put into routine thorough housekeeping to keep the room and surrounding property cleaner for me to return.
