i have been using the Accor group hotels all around the world and i must confess that this Biarritz hotel barely falls on the category of a Sofitel category. Staff is great and helpful, rooms are good but not great and the worst is their breakfast....Mercure Paris has a better quality service than this one.

We stayed for 3 nights at this hotel and had a very relaxing time. This is a very elegant, comfortable, luxury hotel that offers a relaxing and stylish atmosphere housed in an historic building 2km away from the heart of Biarritz and a 5-minute walk from the lighthouse of Biarritz. The hotel is surrounded by a quiet residential zone half-way between the beaches and the city centre, overlooks the bay of Biarritz, with sea views to one side and the Biarritz golf course to the other. The restaurant and pool offer fabulous sea views. The hotel offers free WiFi and parking. This hotel provides a high standard of comfort and services featuring Belle Epoque decor. The galleried atrium at the heart of the hotel that features an Eiffel-styled glass roof is simply stunning. It is built in an Art Deco style that combines red, black and gold decor in a harmonious manner. The rooms achieve the right balance of individual design and modern functionality. Our room overlooked the golf course and followed the hotel’s Art Deco theme with rich fabrics, patterned carpets, and heavy drapes. It was fully soundproofed and very clean. It had a tiny balcony, free WiFi, a Nespresso maker and a kettle, a safe and free bottled water. The bed was large and extremely comfortable with a wide choice of pillows. The bathroom spacious and very bright with double sinks and black tiles in the walk-in showers. We dined at the restaurant only once; the food was really good but rather pricey. A minor point is that the menu was rather restricted for our taste. Staff at the front and concierge desk were very professional, courteous, helpful, friendly and very pleasant. Especially Julien at the concierge desk was extremely helpful and charming, took plenty of time to explain to us about the region and its products and gave us a lot of good tips. Room service was very discreet and efficient (our bed was always remade and water replaced, but we were never disturbed). Highly recommended we will certainly come back again!!

The pool is a stunning area, the lobby impressive, the breakfast perfect, the bedroom is big, elegant and comfy. Everything you can expect from a 5* hotel was there including a great service. Indeed, the staff has been wonderful and paid attention to all our needs which resulted into a great stay. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, thank you.

Was a bit concerned when booking this hotel, was afraid it was to far away from downtown. It took less than 10 minutes to walk. Rooms are quiet, good size, loved the shower. Comfortable bed and staff was at great help providing pillows for our comfort. Water in minibar is complementary, chocolate on you bed, what’s not to like. Was lucky to hear some music in the hall, outstanding experience and the place has a perfect sound. Breakfast is okay, variety is sufficient. When in Biarritz, I will return.

We had a very nice time here. The room was a bit smaller than expected, but everything else was great. In particular the restaurant was very good. On the first night I had one of the set menu options and it was one of the nicest meals I've ever had. I had the other option on our second night and I didn't enjoy it as much, but that was a matter of personal preference - I thought I should have a change, but the other option suited my tastes better. Watching the sun set over the ocean was a special bonus! The hotel is a little out of the main centre; we didn't mind this, and I imagine it would be preferable in the busy height of the season (we stayed in early October). It might be a bit of a nuisance if you don't like walking, though it's only 10-15 minutes. We passed a couple of the other hotels we'd considered and are very pleased that we chose this one.

when we went to biarritz to visit some of our friends we wanted to book this hotel because of its comfort and reputation we liked it alot - the rooms are perfect and the service of the hotel is very good

Excellent overnight stay in Biarritz. This is the second stay for us with pet and it was brilliant again. Beautiful room, warm welcome with concierge particularly helpful. We had dinner and again that was spot on my pigeon was cooked perfectly as was my wife’s fish. The breakfast next day was very good. But it is the staff that make any hotel and this is a real team effort from professionals!

This was a really nice hotel, impressive decor on the main atrium area. Friendly staff and a decent Haman spa area. It was quite expensive for what it is, however. The pool is in the middle of the car park and no food/drink service. Things you would expect from 5*. Nice rooms though and a fantastically comfortable bed. Breakfast was very good, although would be nice to have hot options offered.

Booked a sea view room. Great views over Biarritz and the sea. Lovely shower, Lovely welcome at reception provided local maps and information, and pleasant bar staff , enjoyed the outdoor heated pool. Sun terrace. Car parking facilities.

We stayed at the hotel for 3 days at the end of August booking a suite on the Accor website as there was a 30% off offer. The suite was lovely and spacious with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was fine although I would have expected a wider range of food e.g. Fresh berries and Spanish omelette for the price and as this is supposed to be a top end hotel. The service experience was quite mixed. We wouldn't go back or recommend - we would probably try the Hotel du Palais if we went back to Biarritz.
