A comfortable hotel not too far from the city centre and a short drive from Biarritz. The room was clean and reasonably well appointed, the bed comfortable and there was not too much traffic noise even though the hotel is close to a large intersection. The dining room was adequate as was the menu; not a wide range of choices and little by way of regional selections. The dining room was very busy the evening I stayed, with a large TV showing a local rugby match. Not ideal for a quiet meal. Check-in was slow even though I had a room booked in advance. But the biggest problem was finding the place. Even with a sat. nav. which is normally very reliable, I struggled for almost an hour, driving round and round the area before a kind local led me there. The entrance is very poorly signposted - I didn't actually see a signpost - and the hotel is not visible from the road.
A mediocre motel on the outskirts of the town close to a large commercial estate very near a very busy main road. The rooms are on 2 levels in one block with the reception area and restaurant in a separate building.
We stayed for two nights, and though the rooms are small, they were immaculate, efficient and sufficient. There was a bit of road noise, but not terrible, and that's what you get when you choose something convenient to the motorway, after all. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is a small charge for breakfast 6 euro I think and it is well worth it. Lots of choices, all very fresh. Note: If you use google maps, it makes finding the entrance to the hotel look more complicated than it is.When you exit the motorway you can access the hotel from the first roundabout
Very convenient for a night whilst travelling south. However, right on a traffic island with a lot of ambient noise. However, not a real problem indoors. Sufficient parking, apparently reasonably secure. Rooms perfectly clean with TVs, wifi, tea/coffee and usual facilities. A good evening meal and buffet breakfast. Good value and so to be recommended within limitations mentioned.
Very nice hotel rooms clean, restaurant was very good excellent menu choice, we were recommended to use Campanile and we weren't disappointed, staff were excellent very polite and with my poor French I was pleasantly surprised that everyone I spoke to understood English
The rooms are like sheds, the towels small in size and number and, worst of all, the wet room shower floods the bedroom. Avoid unless you have no alternative but to stay here, there are many better quality hotels around.
On first impressions I thought OMG, this is crap. The room was small the beds looked nothing like the pictures but at least it was only for the night. Well the bed was unbeleivably comfortable and the quilt just the right weight for the bed. The bathroom was clean and I had a lovely hot shower before retiring. The TV only had french chanells so I gave that a miss. Can honestly say that I had a great night sleep. Dont let 1st impressions put you off, if you are only using it while passing through then it is more than adequate and cheap.
Rooms are well furnished, and the bed most comfortable, a good sleep. Good wifi and friendly helpful staff. Secure parking. Food very good, a lovely selection. Will stay here again on our way back to uk. It's also just off the roundabout and easy to find.
Room was clean. The air-conditioning barely worked and it was needed the hotel is just off a busy roundabout and it was impossible to sleep with the window open. The bed was quite hard and the pillows lumpy. The breakfasts were good but the evening meals were not good. Asked if they had a map of Bayonne - no they hadn't any. Would not stay there again.
Had an overnight here en route from UK to Portugal. We had booked well in advance and paid €59, but the walk in rate was €112.50 which is well over priced. There is a secure car park which is exited by code after 11pm and before 6am I think which is good. There was plenty of room to park but we were there early 6pm. The check in was quick and friendly, the room on the first floor was mainly okay, but the towels were grey and grubby and the bathmat defied use. There was plenty of hot water, pump action soap and good wifi. Ate in the restaurant for dinner and this was acceptable with very nice service. I think in future I will use the Ibis chain as the rooms are better, although Campanile does provide a tea tray which the Ibis does not but otherwise Ibis wins.
