Situated well outside of Granada (but only 20 minutes drive to the Airport). A taxi ride being 10-15 Euros into the centre of the city (but a twice hourly/comfortable bus service being only 1.50 Euros each way!). MASSIVE suites with very comfortable beds (two doubles in our case!), small balcony(overlooking the pool) but with minimal furniture slightly weird configuration of shower/toilet area. Solid rather than spectacular! I'm not complaining - there was little if anything to dislike, it's just that the whole place was rather plain and soul-less! Breakfast was disappointing due to the cooked food having been put out for too long - the scrambled eggs being particularly unappealing. Bar prices at the top end of acceptability but the bar food was good. Didn't use the Spa - so unable to comment. The pool area was nice but the umbrella's need some maintenance! A couple of middle-of-the-road/friendly restaurants within walking distance if you don't want to use the hotel or go into the city.
We stayed at Granada Palace Hotel, lovely big room in junior suite, contrary to what they say there is a kettle for tea making in room, cups very small though! Staff very friendly and helpful, only problem with the place there is no atmosphere, it is completely dead, no character, no pictures on walls, great big glass stairwells and marble landings but they are just open plan and empty. They need to put some furniture on landings with colour, maybe some flowers either real or artificial to bring some life to the place. Breakfast is very good, plenty of selection both hot and cold and plenty of room between tables so you don't feel on top of each other.
We spent two nights at the Granada Palace and it is one of the nicest hotels that I have ever stayed at. Our room was large with plenty of extra space to spread out. There were two double beds. Most European bath tubs are small. This room had a Jacuzzi! I like a dark room and there were motor driven window shutters, The room was very quiet. WiFi is free and there is a HDTV with a few English speaking channels. The breakfast buffet is excellent and large. The receptionists were very helpful. The hotel is about 20 minutes from downtown Granada by car. There are a few places to eat within walking distance. I would stay here again.
Generally appears an excellent hotel. Nice staff and facilities only grumble is that i seemed to get the only broken room. No balcony. Broken shower. No welcome fruits. Pretty much damped my experience. But on a serious note the hotel seems good. Just a rare bad experience i guess. Photos are from a friends more welcoming experience and my duff shower
Stayed here on a Travelzoo break. It is a very large hotel. Pool is good and towels are free from the Spa or Reception. We were allocated a Junior Suite which was enormous, bathroom has jacuzzi bath, walk in shower. Towels large, white and fluffy. Two double sized beds with an abundance of soft pillows - so comfortable. The room was quiet (for most of the time), had comfy chairs and settee, large TV, fridge, air-con and was light and airy. Staff were very welcoming and restaurant/bar staff pleasant and efficient . The whole place is spotlessly clean - gleaming mirrors and marble - with ample public areas in which to sit in a cool atmosphere away from the heat, once in a while. A real pleasure to stay in this hotel. Breakfast is one of the best we have enjoyed in any Spanish hotel - a wonderful choice, beautifully presented and cooked - buffet food refreshed frequently - champagne if you wish! Bar drinks are reasonable - do have a Mojito - voice of about 6 different ones - all delicious. We would add one word of warning, however: the hotel is very popular on a Saturday for weddings and, it appears to be the custom to hold the reception starting late evening and ( unfortuntately, for other hotel guests) , going on ALL NIGHT. So, if your room is at the back and facing the suite where the reception is being held, you're night's sleep will be greatly disturbed. That said, and learning from our experience, we would use this hotel again, but would ask for a different room. The hotel is outside the city of Granada- that's no problem as the bus service is very frequent, stops right outside the hotel and is only 3 Euros for the 15 minutes journey right into the city. Unless you are eating in the hotel itself (food is very good),go into the city - restaurants there are not only very plentiful and excellent but are much less expensive and of much better value than the ones locally in Monachil. You will find this hotel excellent, if you take notice of the tips given by other travellers.
The Hotel Granada Palace has huge comfortable rooms with everything you need in them except cups to drink tea from, they do supply tiny coffee cups but no coffee, only tea bags in the room. There is a ten euro charge for parking but we found plenty of street parking available right outside the hotel, so no need to pay for that. Breakfast was good with a large variety of food to choose from, we did find that the fried eggs were left out for a long time and were hard and unappetising, however as soon as you asked the staff they would bring fresh eggs for you. Again we had the problem of the teeny tiny cups and nothing to make tea in, many people had resorted to drinking beverages from the cereal bowls, as did we. Com on management you are letting yourselves down badly over such a small item, get some proper cups for your clients, I bet you don't use these silly little coffee cups for beverages at home do you? and certainly not for tea. There is a lovely swimming pool that has beds in the water that give an aqua massage. The water was cold to get in to but that was made worse by the outside temperature being forty plus at the time. There is lots of lovely comfortable seating available all around the hotel foyer.
Got a great deal from travel zoo of three nights in a suite here with a bottle of cava on arrival and breakfast included. Hotel was spotlessly clean and the suite we were given was enormous. The room had two double beds as well as a sitting area. Bathroom had a separate spa bath to the shower. Very nice ! The pool area was again spotless and relatively quite. There were in pool water features to provide back massages etc. The breakfast was a continental buffet breakfast and was more than adequate with fresh pastries very morning. The food for lunch at the pool bar was again good and the prices reasonable around 10e for a plate of pasta - not bad for a 4* hotel. In addition there was also a roof top bar with music, where we spent most of our later evenings drinking cocktails mixed by Jorge. Lovely hotel with nice staff! Its a little isolated and I would recommend a car but lovely all the same.
This giant sits in Monachil in the hillside outside Grenada and offers spacious and clean rooms. It's got a restaurant and a bar, spa, workout facilities, a roof top bar with great views of the surroundings and the sunset and a huge garage for your car. So a good package. The downside is that the breakfast was a bit in the lower end (not too selection of juices, bread vegetables), the gym was scarcely equipped, and it was hard to find staff who worked in the bar/pool bar.
I would recommand this hotel for families. Big rooms. Lovely swimmingarea. Great room service. Good breakfast. We had a lovely stay. The employees were welcoming and friendly. Recommand this hotel even though its not placed in the town center.
Although the hotel itself is 4* and the fundamentals of this hotel does indicate that, there are a few little points in which it is lacking that have made quite a big impact on our trip to Granada. The main problem is the location and distinct lack of transport into town. Although we were told it would cost 25euros for a taxi from the airport, it actually cost us 45euros (one way). The hotel is far from walking distance to the city and there is no shuttle bus or public transport to speak of, meaning that unless you hire a car you will need to hire a taxi to and from the town. The layout of the hotel is also a little bewildering. For example, the bathrooms in the rooms have no doors and are not in the slightest bit ergonomic. There is a separate area for the toilet, however if standing at the sink you can see the loo anyway (making the separation pointless). If you have long legs you might also struggle to sit down as they have placed the toilet in the narrowest part of the room....it's little things like this that make a big difference. Other thibg include: - Small balcony, no chairs - the spa has sporadic opening hours and is hard to find Otherwise, the hotel is massive, clean and comfortable. The reception staff could be a little friendlier but if you ask them a specific question they will answer. Granada is lovely and I would recommend a visit to the city. Sadly I won't be coming back to this hotel unless they provide a shuttle bus, free or otherwise. I'd rather have that than the free bottle of cava on arrival.
