We contacted the MH office on our arrival as indicated on pre-arrival emails. We got access to the apartment at 1pm even though it was a 3pm check-in. The guy who greeted us was friendly and very informative. He ran through everything we needed to know about the apartment itself. He also asked the types of things we would be doing during our stay and provided lots of hints and tips to make our visit to the city run smoothly. We had a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment with a balcony which faced the back of the apartments (no traffic noise). The kitchen was well appointed with everything you would need for a self catering break. Large fridge freezer, microwave, toaster, oven / hob, and even a dish washer and washing machine. An amenity pack containing dish cloths, washing up liquid etc, was also provided. The air-conditioning in the apartment worked very well (much needed as the temperatures were in the mid 20's most days). The free wifi also worked very well. Flat screen TV and an ipod / radio speaker were also in the apartment. The bathrooms were stocked with shower gel, shampoo and soap. There was always plenty of hot water. There were also plenty of towels for everyone in our party. A safe was also provided, free of charge. The location of the apartment was excellent. A Carrefour supermarket literally just around the corner. Arc de Triomphe 3 mins walk. Sagradia Familia - 10 mins walk. Cataluyna Square / Top of Ramblas - 10 mins. Beach and marina 20-25 mins. Tetuan Metro literally outside the apartment door. Overall this was a very clean, functional apartment in an excellent location, for which i would have no hesitation in recommending.
The stadf was very unfriendly, rude, and entered the apartment several times WITHOUT knocking. The elevator didnt work properly, the air conditioning didnt work and the hot water didnt work either. There were a lot of really disgusting bugs specially in the kitchen area. We also found mold in some of the rooms and the bathroom. There was also a lot of noise coming from the streets and a school nearby. I really cant say anything good about this apartment besides the location, it was very central. Otherwise, our experience with mh apartments was truly terrible.
When we initially booked we had to call the apartment to ask them to make sure someone is at the apartment to let us in at 1AM as we were arriving by a late flight. It took us days to get hold of a decent contact number or even a person to confirm this. Nevertheless, this was sorted before we arrived. Upon arrival we waited for the gentle for 15 minutes before he arrived and was very friendly who showed us in to our apartment and explained us how things worked. We were given a Wi-Fi password which connected to all our phones well. The first night in and the air conditioners stopped working. Called the staff on their hotline and tried explaining that not only the air conditioning stopped working but also the iron was not working properly. The first time we were on The phone, the gentleman hung up. We called back and tried breaking the issues down in simple English and hoped they understood. The gentleman told me that he was very busy and he doesn't know when he will be able to send an engineer to come and check the issue but hopefully would be tomorrow at some point who would have spare keys to let them selves in even when we were out. The engineer could not fix the a.c. And said we need specialists to come and have a look at this. Two days in no a.c. But two men turn up the following day claiming to be specialists. They turned the place up side down and cut up so many wires until I actually asked them if they knew what they were doing and they responded saying no and looked absolutely clueless. So still no a.c. Third day which was our last day no a.c. But the hot water was gone completely. Not to mention that the lights also had issues. After making this complaint to the staff, they refused to compensate us in anyway whatsoever and no formal apology at all. Considering we left a day early also as our flights were cancelled and we had to re book and leave early. Terrible experience and the apartment itself needs some real updating. Never will I be seen here ever again.
We were four adults staying at this apartment. It was decent but could use some updating. The painting needs to be updated, the air conditioning leaked throughout the night on the floor so I had to put a towel. The railing outside on the balcony did not seem secure as it would move when you touched it slightly. For the cleanliness it was so/so. The beds and floors and bathrooms appeared to be clean. When I went to bed I noticed the pillow case did not seem clean and smelled like the last persons head which grossed me out so I found another pillow case and put it over it. Another pillow had not pillow case on it. The location was fine. Would I stay here again, no.
We came here for a stag do, 13 of us over two apartments. Clean, basic, and equipped with what is needed. Nothing more, nothing less. Not exactly luxury but then that's wasn't what was needed. Good position for the sea and the town party life!
This was our second stay in these apartments (the first was in 2012). Since then the TVs have been updated. Check in procedure was much smoother, as we knew that you must call from the airport. Apartment was clean and stocked with dish supplies. The location is simply perfect - there are fantastic restaurants all around, it is a short walk to nearly anything you want to visit, and you can easily find anything you need.
I'm very excited of the apartment,it's big, clean, lightly and have all that a whole family needs to be,the location is good, near is Sagrada Familia, have a park with parrots in front, there are Carrefour Express in 100m... The neighborhood is quite nice
Check in straight forward, the guy who met us was very friendly and informative. Apartment is in a great central location on a metro line and easy to walk to hot spots - Ramblas, Sagrada Familia, Gothic Quarter and harbour. The apartment is spacious, modern and comfortable and is equipped with all that is needed. The only downside was there were a group of noisy stay party goers but as the were 2 floors below we couldn't hear them when in bed, I'm not so sure how it would have been if directly below or above.
We are a family of four and stayed in flat 31 for 10 days in August. When we arrived at the airport, we rang the number given on our booking. We explained that we're taking the airport bus [about 5 euros each] into town then walking the rest, and were told someone would meet us there in one hour. We actually got there a bit earlier and waited 10 mins outside which was fine. At the end of our holiday we were more familiar with Barcelona and its transport system, so took the nightbus [N17] to terminal 1 and used the T10 travelcard so it only cost us 1 euro each! If you don’t mind taking public transport when you arrive and want to save a few bob, then take the number 46 bus from the airport into Placa Espanya, then it’s a 15 minute walk. I found the Barcelona tourist guide website immensely helpful in working out transport to and from the airport. It also includes info about travel cards etc. The location of MH Tetuan was great for us. Arc de Triompf and Parc de la Cituadella are a very short walk. Las Ramblas and Boqueria market are 20 minutes’ walk away, but that’s not the only place you’ll visit during your stay and with a metro station at your doorstep, it’s very easy to get around whilst being more affordable than staying off Las Ramblas. The bus stops are close too. There’s a late opening supermarket right next door but the Carrefour Express just round the corner was cheaper and had loads more variety. There are also some fabulous bakeries very close by that have seating and open early for breakfast. Flat 31 is very spacious with 2 bedrooms, huge lounge/dining room, kitchen and a bathroom with a great shower over bathtub. It has beautiful floors, ceilings and stained glass that gives it a special feel. Both bedrooms and the living room had medium sized balconies looking out to the main road and Tetuan roundabout. It looked like the balconies were larger on the higher floors. We loved finishing the day on the balcony with a cup of tea, just people watching and soaking up the city. Air conditioning is provided in both bedrooms and the lounge, however only the small bedroom air conditioning was good enough to tackle the August heat [it looked newer]. The other two certainly worked but just took a bit longer and didn't get the rooms as cool – wasn’t a huge problem just a bit annoying on the very hot days. Facilities were better than expected, we had a safe in one of the bedrooms, shelves and hanging space with hangers in both, huge piles of clean towels and a hair dryer in the bathroom. Kitchen was modern and had everything we needed to rustle up a breakfast or meal.
We had 3 of the lovely MH apartments at Tetuan, Barcelona. The rooms were spacious, with good kitchen facilities. Lots of seating to accommodate the 16 ladies celebrating our friends engagement. The only downsides were the lack of mirrors (yes I know, but we are female), and there was only 1 bathroom between 6 in each room; therefore could have done with a second. Super market right below and could always catch a cab. But was right next to the Metro which is fantastic!! Would definitely recommend these apartments to any group of people off to Barcelona on their travels! And for those of you that love to be on social media to stay in the loop... You get free Wifi!
