My husband and I visited Barcelona for the very first time this past May. Though we have had many friends recommend hotels and restaurants , we used trip advisor to guide the way. This boutique hotel ison Rambla de Catalunya and offers just about anything a tourist could want just steps away. There are literally dozens of bakeries, restaurants, wine shops, drug stores as well as a car rental place two blocks away. The hotels' decor is Modern/Art Deco, the staff are all young and outgoing , the hotel has a lovely bar at the entrance and a restaurant which was quite busy at dinner time. Though I wouldn't recommend eating breakfast there as it's very highly priced, I certainly would recommend the bar for an afternoon cocktail. Free wifi is offered to their guests, the hotel rooms though quite small was wonderful as was the bathroom (which actually had the best shower with incredible water pressure). Our favourite part was their roof top patio where we were able to bring up our own wine and snacks at the end of a long day. As far as a four star hotel, this is an excellent choice!!!
Nice hotel, but overpriced and poor service. Front desk and housekeeping uncoordinated and inefficient. Breakfast with low quality and variety. Good location. Staff is too young, no experience and not trained.
Hotel Murmuri is, hands down, the finest bangs-for-bucks apartment-hotel we have booked in our several stays across Europe. Elegance of accommodations, location, service (including a corresponding lack of intrusion) and price are first-rate. The amount and layout of space of the apartment (including surface space), seating arrangements, kitchenette appliances, zero street noise, proximity to metro and major attractions.....all of these--and more--make the Murmuri a class act through and through.
Stayed here for four days at the start of May. The room was really nice and, if we had been prepared to wait, we could have had a balcony. The room was spacious, quiet and lots of storage and mirrors. They definitely thought out the planning of these rooms. The restaurant was very nice, breakfast was good and the bar was fun and always full of people. The location was fantastic -- at the top of Rambla di Catalunya near the Diagonal station and near the two Gaudi houses. The price was reasonable for what we received and the staff were exceptionally friendly. The only negative was that the WiFi needed boosting. All in all a perfect choice for visiting Barcelona
We got off our cruise ship April 14, Good Friday as it turned out, and took a cab into Barcelona to the MurMuri Hotel. The accommodations couldn't have been nicer, huge bathroom, comfortable bed and a tiny balcony with a view down the Rambla Catalunya...Rambla means pedestrian strip down the middle. They have their own sidewalk cafe, inside restaurant and active bar. Breakfast was terrific and included in the price. The best of European attention from the very nice staff, all who speak English...no mean feat in Spain. The price was right. Travelling with us were first-timers to Europe and this hotel was a pleasant surprise for them.
We could not have been happier with our choice of this hotel. The location was wonderful and very convenient. It was stylish and the decor was very nice. The room, while not the largest, was ample and the double glazed windows did their job. The bathroom was nice with a good shower and lovely amenities. The restaurants and bar were uniformly good. But one of the biggest assets is the staff. They could not have been more friendly, helpful and knowledgable. Especially Gemma and Regina. Highly recommend.
We recently finished a three week tour of Spain with a three night stay at Hotel Murmuri in Barcelona. We had previously stayed at this hotel in 2012 and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The 2017 version was even better! The room was well laid out with a spacious bathroom and lovely private terrace. The bed and pillows were superbly comfortable and the A/C performed admirably. The front desk staff were friendly, attentive and helpful and provided local restaurant advice including arranging dinner reservations. The hotel breakfast offers a wide range of quality selections and good wait staff service. Well worth the cost. We stayed at a number of paradors and hotels throughout Spain during this vacation, however, none measured up to the overall experience we enjoyed at Hotel Murmuri. We would definitely stay here on a return visit to Barcelona.
Murmuri has the look and feel of a small hotel. The design is contemporary. The intimacy is maintained by close attention from the great staff. They could not be more friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and well appointed, with a small sitting room attached. There is a terrace on the roof which invites wine or coffee consumption outside as the weather warms up. The hotel is in Gaudi territory. The major buildings are all around. Get there early! Everything in the city is in walking distance. Walking is a recreation in its own right. There is a metro station at the top of the street, if you want it. Taxis are abundant. The area has an astonishing range of restaurants, cafes and bars, including the ones in the hotel itself. It is a far more relaxed area than towards the harbour, which becomes increasingly frenetic. Highly recommended as a place to stay and enjoy Barcelona.
This hotel was very comfortable and clean. The service was excellent, friendly. The worst part was the awful wifi connection that kept dropping. We walked to sagrada familia, plaza catulunya, la rambla 20 minutes. Good location for lots of restaurants nearby. This was a pricey hotel that should look to improve the wifi connection though. They were very accommodating to move us into a room for early check and have it set up with a crib for the baby. Did not try the restaurant. The room was pretty quiet from the neighbors but noise can be heard on the street even on the 4th floor but in this neighborhood it's hard to avoid.
The people could not be nicer working at the hotel. They gave good tips, restaurants and were real pleasant. Hotel was clean, breakfast was included and rooms were very nice. The location was off the congested areas and near mass transit. Hopping area but able to step back,
