Stayed in this hotel for two nights in a small but clean room. Despite the room being small the toilet is quite big with bath tub, shower gel, free soap being changed everyday, nice shower and even two toilet bowls! On my first night, I had difficulty in sleeping due to the noise coming from the ac but on the second night I was able to turn it off and voila I got some very good sleep. The hotel has a lift but only allows two persons but so far war during my stay I never experienced to wait in line. The perfect thing about this hotel is being close to the important tourist destinations in Barcelona such as Las Ramblas, Placa Catalunya, La Boqueria, Barcelona Cathedral which are walkable thereby saving a few euros. Bus/train fares of € 2.15 are more expensive compared to France's and Italy's. The location also allowed me to make repetitive visits to Las Ramblas just to stroll along; go to Placa Catalunya sat on the benches and watched the two fountains show and feel the vibe of the city. Also, the hotel is near to Aerobus terminal for T1 and T2, near the bus stops of bus 24 that goes to Parc Guell, bus 59 to the beach, Universitat metro station in going to Sagrada Familia and Catalunya metro station which is just a seconds away! It is also close to McDonald's , Burger King and KFC as well as some other restaurants. The receptionists were all nice and helpful always asking if I need some help. All in all, had a pleasant stay and never regret that I booked here. Would definitely stay again in this hotel.

Double rooms on higher floors are somewhat nice, single rooms choice is quite horrible - the rooms are small and miserable, cleanness should be worked on as well. The location is great though - mid placa Catalunia, the entrance is hard to find as its from the watches shop between McDonalds and a clothing store. Off-season the prices and the upgrades make it a good value-for-money deal.

We spent four days in Barcelona at the beginning of November. The hotel was very good, right in the center of Barcelona. Check in was at 2.00 pm, the room was very clean. The housekeeping made sure the room was spic and span every day. We did not use the dining facilities, getting all our meals out and about. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, advising us to be cautious about pickpockets and the like. All in All, a very good visit. We will definitely stay there the next time we visit Barcelona. And that should be soon!

The hotel is located at placa catalunya, the metro stop and rambla are just seconds away, so it is really in the center. The breakfast was ok with a variety of pastries. The hotel is old, the elevator is slow and the rooms are not modern and they are so small. The bathroom and the room and the bed was not that much clean, that was disturbing. We also found 15 cm big coachroches, that was so dissapointing. When we showed it to the receptionist, they said "sorry", that's all, no compensation, no extra cleaning...sadly, homeless people are usually resting near the entrance. i hope the hotel is going to improve on the quality soon.

I can’t believe how such a hotel can still run in a city like Barcelona. There’s nothing to highlight about the hotel but its location (and not even due to the high level of concentration of people just outside the hotel – exhausting!). Starting from the hotel entrance, the quality of the bed and bed lining, going through the elevator, corridors, ceilings, doors and room facilities are sickening. I stayed just one night, but I was change over EUR190 on a Wednesday! The only positive thing to mention is the service provided by the two ladies on check-out, but check-in experience wasn’t very pleasant either. I won’t definitely come back again.

It's A very friendly staff. Best part is the location , awesome location, near to major attractions. Had a nice time . They even gave us early check-in and kept our luggage for late departure. Airport shuttle is very near by

Location can't be better, at the corner of the main plaza. Friendly and helpful reception inside a rather discreet entrance. The room (314) is tiny but adequate. Room is on the back, no view but quiet and peaceful. Clean, everything works. Nice breakfast buffet. All in all, a convenient place to sleep, and good value for money

Firstly very welcoming staff, we arrived at 1:30 am very helpful day and night. They had answers to any question you had eg attractions, where to visit and how to follow the metro on the map. Also the day before check out they allowed us to have a later check out for free of charge which helped us a great deal and also looked after our luggage whilst we explored another day. The hotel was very clean itself and our room was cleaned everyday also with clean bedding/towels and new soap given which we had used or hand washing. There was not one bit of dust on the modern wooden flooring. The hotel is in walking distance to the football grounds and supermarkets coffee shops. The metro was 5-6 mins walk also, which took you to town, beach, attractions.. We went all over and the T-10 travel card gets you 10 journeys including to the airport which is also close to reach from the hotel. So all in all very good value for money. Out the way but not too far! The hotel was quiet and we slept great... Breakfast is mostly surved until 11am so you can always have a later brunch if not hungry too early.. I have nothing bad to say about this hotel just an idea for future and that is to maybe add beans/eggs to the breakfast options. For a 2 star hotel I think they are under rating themselves... I would rate it a 3-4 star. Thank you for our lovely comfortable welcoming stay.

I am delighted i booked the Monegal. It is right on the Plaza Catalyuna only steps away from the Ramblas. This is the area you want to be in. The hotel is basic, no frills, small rooms butperfect ofr me for a 4 day stay. It is clean and quiet at a good price. There is a very generous breakfast offered as well. I would certainly stay here again as I hope to visit this glorious city again.

I stayed for 2 nights in this hotel. Great location on the corner of La Rambla. Many restaurants and shops. In front of metro station, and 2 min walking to Aerobus. The room is old and dusty. the AC is too noisy. the bed is hard and not comfort at all, and the staff is not friendly.
