This hotel is right in the centre of Barcelona, over looking Las Ramblas. Perfect location and it wasn't noisy either. Walk down the street to the seafront, or hop on a tour bus which were located across the plaza. The rooms were a nice size, not crampt but not too big. Bathroom was a good size too. Hotel staff were very helpful when we were asking for information about things. There are no food or drinks facilities at the hotel but there is a supermarket 5mins walk. Definitely would stay here again if I'm ever back in Barcelona.
The location is perfect right on Plaza Catalunya. The rest is very average. You walk through a shop to get to the reception. I have stayed there several times. The rooms are very different. Get a room with a view to Las Ramblas.
The first this to say about this hotel is its amazing location. Right in the centre of Plaça Catalunya and at the top of La Rambla with none of the major sights more than a 15min walk away. Unfortunately we did not get one of the rooms that overlooked the square but we knew that was not a given. We had a horrible view that looked onto the back of other people’s apartments but the room is a good size. The room was clean-ish but certainly not spectacular, there were hairs in the bidet that were not cleaned out the whole time we were there! The noise is also terrible. You could hear every tiny noise from the people in the rooms around you which made it difficult to sleep. The nature of a city break in Barcelona means you don’t spend much time in your room which in this case I was grateful for. I would stay again for the location and nothing else.
I was a bit apprehensive after reading some bad reviews on here but I must say I was pleasantly surprised. To start with the location is absolutely superb. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are basic but more than adequate. We had a great balcony room overlooking the main square. The room was clean and comfortable. Yes there is noise from outside but if you want to stay in such a prime location it should be expected.
Just got back from staying 3nts at this hotel. Arrived at 11am even though check in was at 2. Ask to see if they had a room available. The lovely lady Vanessa at reception found a room and just had to wait 30mins for it to be cleaned. The hotel is inbetween mcdonalds and burger king at the back off a watch shop. Arrived at the room (308) twin room, not what i paid for. Paid for a double. But wasn't to bothered as i had a great balcony view onto la rambla and it was a smoking room, so i wasn't fuss. The room was small,tv had no english channel. The hot water was hot. Bed was ok. Air con was noisey when u had it left on at nights. Alot of noise from the street at nights at it was busy. Free towels, shampoo n shower gel. Free wifi. WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE ABOUT THIS HOTEL WAS THAT IF U LEAVE THE "DO NOT DISTURB SIGN ON THE DOOR" EXPECT THE CLEANERS TO IGNORE IT AND COME INTO UR ROOM,WHILE YOUR OUT!!! Aprt from my room,i ddnt have breakfast. So can't comment on that or any other facilities. Location was amazing. 2mins from the aerobus stop which takes u straight to the airport in 20-30mins. Within walking distance to all the main attraction. OverALL i would return back for the price i paidfor ,location, balcony n smoking room. (All the rooms facing the front off the street has balcony! The rooms at the back don't have windows!)
Stayed in this hotel for two nights in a small but clean room. Despite the room being small the toilet is quite big with bath tub, shower gel, free soap being changed everyday, nice shower and even two toilet bowls! On my first night, I had difficulty in sleeping due to the noise coming from the ac but on the second night I was able to turn it off and voila I got some very good sleep. The hotel has a lift but only allows two persons but so far war during my stay I never experienced to wait in line. The perfect thing about this hotel is being close to the important tourist destinations in Barcelona such as Las Ramblas, Placa Catalunya, La Boqueria, Barcelona Cathedral which are walkable thereby saving a few euros. Bus/train fares of € 2.15 are more expensive compared to France's and Italy's. The location also allowed me to make repetitive visits to Las Ramblas just to stroll along; go to Placa Catalunya sat on the benches and watched the two fountains show and feel the vibe of the city. Also, the hotel is near to Aerobus terminal for T1 and T2, near the bus stops of bus 24 that goes to Parc Guell, bus 59 to the beach, Universitat metro station in going to Sagrada Familia and Catalunya metro station which is just a seconds away! It is also close to McDonald's , Burger King and KFC as well as some other restaurants. The receptionists were all nice and helpful always asking if I need some help. All in all, had a pleasant stay and never regret that I booked here. Would definitely stay again in this hotel.
Double rooms on higher floors are somewhat nice, single rooms choice is quite horrible - the rooms are small and miserable, cleanness should be worked on as well. The location is great though - mid placa Catalunia, the entrance is hard to find as its from the watches shop between McDonalds and a clothing store. Off-season the prices and the upgrades make it a good value-for-money deal.
We spent four days in Barcelona at the beginning of November. The hotel was very good, right in the center of Barcelona. Check in was at 2.00 pm, the room was very clean. The housekeeping made sure the room was spic and span every day. We did not use the dining facilities, getting all our meals out and about. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, advising us to be cautious about pickpockets and the like. All in All, a very good visit. We will definitely stay there the next time we visit Barcelona. And that should be soon!
The hotel is located at placa catalunya, the metro stop and rambla are just seconds away, so it is really in the center. The breakfast was ok with a variety of pastries. The hotel is old, the elevator is slow and the rooms are not modern and they are so small. The bathroom and the room and the bed was not that much clean, that was disturbing. We also found 15 cm big coachroches, that was so dissapointing. When we showed it to the receptionist, they said "sorry", that's all, no compensation, no extra cleaning...sadly, homeless people are usually resting near the entrance. i hope the hotel is going to improve on the quality soon.
I can’t believe how such a hotel can still run in a city like Barcelona. There’s nothing to highlight about the hotel but its location (and not even due to the high level of concentration of people just outside the hotel – exhausting!). Starting from the hotel entrance, the quality of the bed and bed lining, going through the elevator, corridors, ceilings, doors and room facilities are sickening. I stayed just one night, but I was change over EUR190 on a Wednesday! The only positive thing to mention is the service provided by the two ladies on check-out, but check-in experience wasn’t very pleasant either. I won’t definitely come back again.
