I am delighted i booked the Monegal. It is right on the Plaza Catalyuna only steps away from the Ramblas. This is the area you want to be in. The hotel is basic, no frills, small rooms butperfect ofr me for a 4 day stay. It is clean and quiet at a good price. There is a very generous breakfast offered as well. I would certainly stay here again as I hope to visit this glorious city again.
I stayed for 2 nights in this hotel. Great location on the corner of La Rambla. Many restaurants and shops. In front of metro station, and 2 min walking to Aerobus. The room is old and dusty. the AC is too noisy. the bed is hard and not comfort at all, and the staff is not friendly.
I under estimated this hotel because it was a two star, but I was impressed when I got there. You could not do better with the location. It is in the heart of La Rambla, Barcelona. We were there to catch a cruise so we were only there two nights. It steps from the metro and if you took the Aerobus it is just across the plaza. If you want peace and quiet there's a trade off. Since you are in the heart of the city it will be noisy. Just bring ear plugs and you will be fine. It is not luxurious but if you want to be at the heart of the city and quick access to transport and metro this hotel is a winner! The picture was taken from the balcony of our room.
A very central hotel in Barcelona. Views over Placa de Catalunya. The location can't be better. The staff is nice and its possible to leave ur luggage there after check out. Everything is old in the hotel though. I got a little bit disturbed of the noise from outside and the AC makes some noise too. My bed was very tiny as well. However, this was what I expekted and for me location and staff is the most important, so I'm satisfied, but its not a luxurious place :-).
The hotel is in the very centre - on the corner of Plaza Catalunia and La Rambla. Everything is at your hand, including the place from which all tourist buses start and airport express is also here. All nice restaurants and shops are in the neighbourhood. The rooms are small as the hotel is in the historic building but everything is clean, stuff are friendly and professional, breakfasts are simple but they include everything necessary (ham, cheese, butter, vegetables, fruit, juice, tea, coffee, jogurt...). If you like luxury, the holel isn't for you, but if you come to admire Barcelona, it's ideal!
it doesnt matter the room type -the noise will kill you for sure-astronomical price for 3 night 440 eu !!bec of Easter, maybe, anyway the only positive side -position and reception stuff- the hotel is out dated need urgently renovation
Worst place in town. Totally outdated rooms. Dirty, uncomfortable. Definitely not worth the money. Look for any other place to stay. This cannot even be called a hotel. The only lift has capacity for just two people. Mind blowing place.
Great place for a base in barcelona. Its right at the top of las rambles which is the buzz of the city for shops and markets. The hotel boosts an 8 euro breakfast. Run away. The hotel is clean but needs modernisation. The beds are really hard and one pillow and one towel. No english speaking tv channels. Tip of the review would be get front facing room with balcony.
This hotel is the best hotel in Barcelona because good sight you can see it from this hotel and this hotel is in good area in Catalonia and you can find good stuff helping you at any time it's near from this hotel all good and femous restaurants and best shops for shopping i advise every person to booking in this hotel
We stayed here for one night only so this review based only with our short stay experience. The room are big enough for a couple,We stayed in 3rd floor with awesome view overlooking Plaza Catalunya and side of La Rambla. Very convenient to everything. If you are a light sleeper, this is not a hotel for you but if you don't mind the noise from the street and cars then it is tolerable. The breakfast are decent and buffet style for 8Euro, not bad at all. The front desk receptionist are all nice and ready to help. i gave 4 star because the wifi barely work or we can't connect at all.
