Checked in just fine. The young lady was polite if not too warm. The room was superb Spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. The room is certainly small but it was fine for the 2 nights we stayed there. The bathroom was similarly good.I cannot comment on the bar/restaurant as I never went there.Only real downside was the noise from outside. We were in room 105 right at the very front of the hotel and the din was quite epic at times but that's what sometimes happens when you stay in a great, convenient location such as this. All in all this is a great value hotel in a very convenient location.

Took a short break to Barcelona for the first time, for a little explore... Picked a pot-luck hotel close to Las Ramblas and decided to make the best of it. Well how lucky was I to happen upon Adagio! Inexpensive, perfectly located, perfectly functional and with the most enthusiastic guy in the world on reception! I needn't have bothered do any research - just rock up and chat with Tony! There must be a gazillion places to stay in Barcelona - but if you're taking a short break and wanna be close to the action, give Adagio a go... :-)

I'll admit, for the price, I was a little concerned about what I'd find when I checked in, but I felt like I found the perfect hidden gem of a hotel in the heart of the Gothic Quarter and the location couldn't have been more perfect! Plus, it includes breakfast! If you're fortunate enough to meet Tony at the front desk, he's a Barcelona native and is a wealth of knowledge in this gorgeous city. He loves his city, and it shows! He recommended everything from the best places to get tapas, the best sites to see, and where to find the best live music. Another excellent feature of the hotel; the tapas bar downstairs with the best glass of house white wine for just €2.90!

I booked the hotel at the very last moment and had no time to read at least some reviews. But nevertheless, the place turned out to be just great. Location is perfect - 3 minite walk ffrom Rambla and Placa Real and Barcelona cathedral. About 20 minutes to the beach. A lot of cafes and restaurants around. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Though check-in is after 13.00 they prepared my room by 11.30 and that was really great after my overnight flight. Thanks! The room on the 5th floor (506) was nice and clean. And one more advantage of the room was the fact that there was absolutely no sound of the crowded street heaard inside the room! Another positive moment was the wifi connection. It was very strong with no interruptions. Actually I have never seen such good wifi connection at the hotels. Breakfast was also nice for the money I paid. So, general impression was very good! Thanks to all the staff! Certainly recommend this place for solo travellers and for groups of friends.

We booked hotel just for sleeping and for that reason this hotel was ok. Otherwise it's not really good, rooms were a bit dirty and because of thin walls you can hear noises from other room and hallway. Location is really good, it's middle of everything. Adagio is good choice if you want just to place to spend nights.

The only pleasant part of our stay at Hotel Adagio was the location. The room temperature, controlled by the front desk for each floor, was inconsistent and set in either extreme. The wifi was spotty and never reliable, which caused an inconvenience for travelers relying on that for access to maps, etc. The lobby and 'restaurant' part of the hotel always had a very unpleasant odor, and because of this, we never cashed in on our complimentary tapas, as to avoid sitting down there for a long period of time. To top it all off, we got home from vacation and realized we have beg bug bites all over. Again, the location was great, but I would recommend looking into other choices close by.

The hotel is situated in a Great location, just off the Ramblas. The staff are very friendly, very welcoming and went through everything we needed to know on check in. The rooms are small and basic but are kept very clean and tidy, what more do you need when you are in Barcelona, we certainly didn't spend much time in our room! I would definitely stay here again, it is a fab base for getting out and about and seeing everything that this beautiful city has to offer!

The hotel if located in Gothic quarter, just off la Rambla street, a quite busy street with tourists and party goers.. The staff was quite welcoming at our arrival and helped explain everything in detail. The hotel has 24 hours reception desk. They also provided sleeping cot for infant. Breakfast was quite simple, no eggs or meat. There were some corners in the bathroom that were a bit rusted so a bit eyesore but everything was working fine. Just a refurbishment is due.

The staff was very nice with us, they didn't mind sitting with us and having conversations, beautiful hotel, the beds aren't that comfortable though, but everything else is just great, clean, nice rooms, perfect location, and even though it's windows are on the street, still its not that noisy. Highly recommended, I'd definitely go back.

Perfect location- half way down and just off Las Ramblas. Also an easy 5 min walk east to Laietana street. Close to multiple metro stops too. We booked this hotel because we read great reviews, however, we did experience the previously mentioned positives. I would not recommend this hotel as there are many others in the same location. Then the negatives begin: 1. Central AC but no individual room controls - it's 90 degrees and we don't have our own control in room. We complained multiple times at the desk to cool our room down and they "checked into it" but nothing changed. We sweat every night! Also, there are no ceiling fans or window in the room 2. Breakfast - same every day, very simple continental 3. Welcome tapas - not very welcome. They told us we could come any night at 7:30 to the restaurant area yet we came on Sunday night and the restaurant was closed. Would have loved to have known ahead of time. 4. TV issues - no channel guide or English channels. We don't spend any time in the room other than later at night, however, there is no BBC or anything to watch in English. We asked the front desk and they told us "30% of the channels should be in English" .... false 5. Noise - walls are paper thin. You don't hear much street noise but hallway and other room noises are as if they were happening in your own room.
